On December 4, 2024, a cold winter morning in New York City, a Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare was gunned down in broad daylight. Thompson was steps away from a Manhattan hotel—on his way to an annual investors meeting. This is when a lone gunman took his life right here on the sidewalk. The shocking killing sparked a five-day nationwide manhunt. And when the arrest finally came on December 9, 2024 in a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the alleged assailant wasn’t who anyone expected. The alleged shooter was a young man by the name of Luigi Mangione. A well-educated individual with a master’s degree, no criminal record and seemingly limitless potential. Prosecutors claim that his alleged actions were driven by his hatred for America’s for-profit health insurance system. But to thousands across the nation he’s more than just a suspect—he’s a symbol. A martyr. This case has divided the nation. Was it a cold-blooded execution? Or the desperate act of someone trying to spark change? Tune in as we dive into one of the most polarizing murder cases in recent history—and ask the question on everyone’s mind: was Luigi a Martyr or a Murderer?

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
