Mit der Regisseurin Aslı Özarslan und der Schauspielerin Melia Kara, beide in Berlin geboren und aufgewachsen, spreche ich über den Film ELLBOGEN: Welche zum Teil skurrilen Erfahrungen sie beim Straßen-Casting machten („ein Erlebnis auf beiden Seiten“), wie sie sich auf den Dreh vorbereiteten, bei dem ein Intimacy Coach nicht fehlen durfte, welche Herausforderungen und Vorzüge es in der Zusammenarbeit mit Laiendarsteller*innen gab, wie die zwei Frauen die Weltpremiere bei Berlinale Generation im Februar 2024 erlebten — und wie sie auf den Kinostart am 5. September blicken. (Die Episode wurde im August aufgenommen.)
Von großer Bedeutung für Aslı Özarslan war ihr Vertrauensverhältnis zu der Drehbuchautorin Claudia Schaefer, mit der sie gemeinsam Figuren und eine Erzählung jenseits von Klischees kreieren und diese gegen alle Widerstände durchsetzen konnte.
Melia Kara erkennt die Probleme von jungen Menschen aus ihrer Generation in dem Film wieder, die wie Hazal oft nicht genau wissen, was sie wollen, aber sie wissen sehr wohl, was sie nicht wollen.
All das und mehr macht ELLBOGEN zu einem ganz besonderen Film des *anderen* deutschen Kinos. Eine absolute Empfehlung von film.macht.kritisch.!
