Die preisgekrönten viet-deutschen Filmschaffenden Đức Ngô Ngọc und Duc-Thi Bui arbeiteten bei MADE IN GERMANY als Co-Autoren zusammen: Die neue ARD-Serie erzählt die Coming-of-Age-Stories von sechs jungen Menschen mit Rassismus- und Antisemitismuserfahrungen aus Berlin. Ich spreche mit Duc und Thi darüber, was diese Serie so besonders macht: Wie von Anfang an auch Zuschauer*innen aus den Communities, um die es geht, als Zielpublikum mitgedacht wurden, etwa durch Dialoge in ihren Muttersprachen statt in dem üblichen „gebrochenen Deutsch“; wie durch den kulturell-biographischen Bezug der Autor*innen und Regisseur*innen spürbar Authentizität erzeugt wird; wie Duc eine schmerzhafte Erfahrung mit strukturellem Rassismus bei einer deutschen Behörde in der Folge ANI verarbeitete; und vieles mehr.
MADE IN GERMANY verfängt sich weder in realitätsfernen kulturalisierenden Bildern über die vermeintlich „Anderen“, noch folgt die Serie dem dominanten „Good Migrants/Bad Migrants“ Narrativ: Ein erfrischend-aufregendes Projekt des *anderen* deutschen Films/Fernsehens.
