Mala Reinhardt ist Regisseurin, Autorin und Produzentin von Dokumentarfilmen. 🎥 Sie schloss 2023 ihr Regiestudium an der Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf ab, nachdem sie zuvor Ethnologie in Köln, Neu-Delhi und Kampala studiert hatte. Ihr Fokus liegt auf unerzählten Geschichten und Gegennarrativen aus migrantischer und feministischer Sicht. 💜✨
FILME
DER ZWEITE ANSCHLAG (2018), ein freies Projekt über rechte Gewalt in Deutschland, feierte Premiere bei DOK Leipzig im Deutschen Wettbewerb und wurde 2021 auf der Berlinale im Forum-Zusatzprogramm „Fiktionsbescheinigung“ gezeigt.
Malas abendfüllender Dokumentarfilm FAMILIAR PLACES hatte 2024 seine Weltpremiere auf dem Locarno Film Festival in der Sektion Semaine de la Critique. Derzeit arbeitet die Regisseurin an ihrem zweiten langen Dokumentarfilm MUTTER/SPRACHE. Bei der diesjährigen Berlinale nahm sie mit diesem Projekt an Berlinale Talents sowie der Berlinale Doc Station teil.
Aktuell ist Mala Teil der internationalen Face2Face-Kampagne 2025 von German Films.
FAMILIAR PLACES
Drei Jahre lang begleitet Mala ihre Freund*in Akosua auf der Suche nach Zugehörigkeit in Deutschland und Ghana – mit dem großen Wunsch nach einem Kind. Dabei tritt die Regisseurin selbst vor die Kamera, und wir hören ihre Gedanken aus dem Off. Der Film besticht durch eine sehr persönliche, verletzliche und mutige Erzählweise, die einen einzigartigen Mix aus beobachtenden Szenen, tiefgehenden Gesprächen, performativen Bildern, Malas Voice-Over-Narration, Animationen und sogar einem feministischen Puppenspiel vereint.
