VTS Coach and singer Emily has spent years mastering musical theatre — but when she sings pop, that polished, precise tone can sound too perfect. In this coaching session, we focused on helping her sound authentically pop: casual, conversational, and effortless.

We used “lazy tongue” exercises, speech-level practice, and vowel tweaks to smooth her tone and reduce over-enunciation. By the end, Emily’s delivery was less theatre-bright and more laid-back pop — without losing her vocal personality.

I hear you just like speak it a couple times yeah
just speak it uh huh
little girls double Dutch on the concrete okay
even then like the the on Dutch double Dutch
dial it back little girls double Dutch on the concrete
yeah that's
that's how little girls double Dutch on the
lazy tongue yeah
lazy tongue if you bring that into
can you put it back on the pitches now

(00:28):
yeah little girls double Dutch on the concrete
I can I can yeah hell yeah
and that also sounds like you float up
because that ascending scale
over and over and over again is like
that's gonna kill you yeah yeah um but that was great

(00:51):
Hey Vox Star and welcome to from singer to artist
I'm Lara Chapman award winning singer and songwriter
turned viral vocal coach and the host of this show
at VoxTape Studios
we help singers from all over the world
level up their voices
by teaching them the three fundamental skills
all singers need technique
awareness and artistry whether you're looking to go pro

(01:12):
or just develop your voice for fun
my team and I are here to help
check the link in the description
to book your first session
or grab some of our other resources Alrighty
are you ready let's get started
today we're doing another little coaching session
but this time with our whole box tape team here
we've got the singer coach Emily

(01:32):
hello
and we're specifically cause she can sing everything
but we're going to specifically
talk about how to sound pop
cause you have a very big musical theater background
yeah and so
we're gonna
mostly focus on making sure that you're sounding pop
passing yeah
not like a musical theater singer singing pop

(01:53):
but rather a pop singer singing pop yeah
I have a lifetime of musical theater practice
and I have two years of contemporary pop training so
so we're gonna be focusing on that
and then
we've got the rest of the coaches here as well
we got Coach Kate hey
we got Coach Bri hey
hey and Coach Juliana
hello and me haha
your host I love it

(02:15):
so uh
I would say we're just gonna do song work right
and mostly jump into it um
I think that's gonna be the most helpful
rather than like these are the pop techniques
cause depending on how these techniques are used
they can also be used in musical theater
and they can also be used everywhere else right
maybe not in classical but
so
I think it's best if we just dig right into your song

(02:36):
and then I'll do coaching from there
is that okay with everybody
yeah yeah yeah yeah
okay let's do it
so you picked what
put your records on by Corinne Bailey
yeah yeah
oh yeah I'm so excited right
so do we want to do to start out with like a
I'm sorry you went Karin Bailey and I just went Ray Ray

(03:00):
oh my God there's one more
Karin Bailey Ray yes
I'm sorry I'm losing it
and then I looked down and my mic blocked the Ray
and I was like that's right
I didn't want to be like Ray
Ray no
please Ray
so uh
how about we start with like a first core
very first verse and chorus situation
sounds awesome yeah
alright let's go
try and let's do it ready when you are yeah

(03:26):
head bobbing let's go

(03:56):
but it's alright the more things seem to change

(04:21):
I hope you get your
who was also singing the oohs

(04:42):
like anyways that was great
how do you feel good
I was so quiet yeah
no it was great
I wanna put the headphones on so I can
no yeah
so quiet I wasn't expecting it
and then that's what came out of my mouth
no I loved it
I kind of loved it like the intimacy of it like
cause yeah you know
when you're singing pop music

(05:03):
you have a microphone most of the time
you know if you're like singing it in a setting with
oh my God I can't talk anymore
Jesus Christ red leather
yellow leather red leather
yellow leather
I liked that you were singing it quietly
because most of the time when we're singing pop music
we have a microphone you know
so you don't need to be so stressed about like
projection you know what I mean

(05:25):
I will also say that
I loved how softly you were singing it
and like coming into the intimacy
one thing that I'm hearing from your musical theater
background is
you're really um
spitting out the words
and I think we can relax that a little bit
yeah um
so can you go back to the first like it
it was specifically the

(05:47):
that I was like oh
that was a little choppy um
so can you I hear you just like speak it a couple times
yeah
just speak it uh huh
little girls double Dutch on the concrete OK
even then like the the on Dutch double Dutch
dial it back little girls double Dutch on the concrete
yeah that's
that's how little girls double Dutch on the lazy tongue

(06:07):
yeah lazy tongue
if you bring that into
can you put it back on the pitches now
little girls double Dutch on the concrete
I can I can
yeah hell yeah
and that also sounds like um
you float up cause that ascending scale
over and over and over again is like
that's gonna kill you yeah yeah
um but that was great
cool thank you
yeah

(06:28):
that's good I feel like it's
because it's so hard to tell you something
cause I just like I would just for real
it's like oh
I have to think like no
I was locked in I was like
I gotta have some feedback here
you're so pretty um
I feel like because of that musical theater
background that you have
your vibrato is present so beautifully

(06:50):
but
I would like to hear what it would be like without it
and then just and like the tail ends
you could open it a little like it like two or three
yeah so maybe let's try the pre chorus
maybe sometimes and just like
try and keep it straight as much as you can
until the very end yeah
and let's see what that feels like

(07:15):
make the more yeah that's a pop singer
it's intentional yeah
yeah yeah
and then not just it catches someone's attention haha
cool yeah
I feel like it also helps um
the legato line anyways
can you sing it from the beginning again with me
yes yeah
I would love to so lazy tongue and straight tone

(07:38):
straight tone yeah
not too much vibrato cool

(08:33):
jeans I hope you get your dream
somehow yeah OK
yeah much better
the second down I wanna hear that vowel both times
so first uh

(08:53):
um
where where's the melody come from for that last down
you go ahead and draw hey down
yes down
down and the first one
it was very much more like down
down down yeah okay
yeah just go ahead
what the hell just go ahead
let your head down head down yeah yeah

(09:16):
um okay
can we on the chorus
I kind of want you to like
just like it it was like very present
in like in like a bright
but not in a bad way like bright in a nice way
what happens if you like what happens if you darken the
the sound a little tiny yeah
just a little bit yeah
put your records on tell me your favorite song

(09:38):
yeah yeah yeah yeah
just to kind of add a little like of
for it so instead of it feeling like in my ears
it feels like it's coming from like here
yup and I
and I we did this the
like the other day where I was like
singing it from like
the back and the middle back of your
uh uh huh
girl girl
go a little bit more yeah yeah
yeah
put your I gotta get my learning records down yeah

(10:00):
your learning yeah
yeah you wanna pepper fish
yeah there it is yeah
something that I've mentioned at some point was um
and I noticed this in my own voice
my voice likes to pretend that my larynx went down
you know what I mean so instead of sneaky yeah
so I'll go from girl to girl and I'm like

(10:25):
that's the same hahaha
girl girl
and now I'm still not really yeah
I'm still not really doing it
I'm lifting my soft palate and my
my voice likes to manipulate it I
I was singing Kelly Clarkson and I was like
why does this sound crazy
I think I think at one point maybe when um
cause there was a point where I was giving
Emily lessons it was the hardest lessons of my week

(10:47):
cause I was like Jesus
what do I give to this girl
um and we did um
the Darth Vader breath yeah
and it like opens everything up and like
brings everything down
girl girl
girl girl
and it just like kind of relaxes it yeah

(11:09):
you know yeah
and I we
you don't need to bring it down that far
but like
if somebody is struggling to get their larynges down
it's really helpful you can do like a puffer fish
or like the Darth Vader breath
oh
hey whoa
what you been inhaling through a yawn
that's that's usually what yeah
oh yep
yeah yeah yeah
yeah oh

(11:30):
yeah that's everyone yawn quick
that's that's um
what I would do but then I would go
oh
because my
my voice is like that lyrics is not going down girl
yeah yeah
it's so it's so funny how or dory
this all reminds a good cut a lot

(11:52):
I was told by a voice teacher one time
we're just talking about pop
cause it was like my first intro of like
what happens when I sing a pop song
oh my God um
that you have to really train to sound untrained
yeah this is a great example of like I
the things that we're adjusting is my training showing
yes you know
it's like it's like
let's make it less perfect

(12:14):
yes
and yeah and make it interesting
yeah and to
to go off of make it interesting
I feel like you're trying really hard in the verse
and it sounds great but what if you just didn't yeah
what if you just didn't try yeah
yeah like three little birds

(12:34):
I don't need to worry and then yeah
like yeah
the vocal fry starts coming through
cause I'm like barely trying
I don't think I heard you do vocal fry even more once
I maybe don't think that I did
and so I want that laziness to come through right now
you don't need to worry yeah
you don't need to worry let your hair down girl
yeah and dare I say maybe a little chestier

(12:57):
I agree I think you're so right
that's kind of where I was going
I think you're so right yeah OK OK
yeah I think
I think yeah
I think I went light instead of chest
no yeah
you were going you were going belly eyelash
I don't know
I like the lightness right
I don't want it to be like yeah
yeah it's not that
but it's a relaxed chest yes right

(13:18):
yeah rather than a mixy breathy
soft like heady place
yeah it can be a breathy
soft chesty place
mm hmm yeah
right three little birds
and that's easy still
and you can make it breathy too if you want to
but yeah just chestier
little fryer more fryer
more fryer yeah

(13:38):
okay chestier
more fry and also lower the lyrics while I'm at it
and then the top notes especially in the chorus right
no lower the lyrics there yeah
down so that's where okay
agility on down vibrato just at the tail end
not even that just like I
when it comes in the low time that you sing down
and it's the lower pitch you wanna close it and like

(14:01):
sing it like you would on a down
I would expect to hear you on Broadway stage singing
like and they went down hahaha
yeah yeah yeah
um
like you close on cinnamon yeah
and I mean yeah

(14:32):
little girls double Dutch on the concrete

(15:24):
oh yeah
that's exactly what I would do
if I was in a lesson with you
by the way oh yeah
there we go okay nice
um when you're doing you're flipping the
yeah just go ahead and
can you keep that a little bit more connected
just go ahead just go ahead
yeah so mix a or yeah

(15:47):
just go
yeah like
leaning into the crack
instead of pulling back out of it
just go ahead just go ahead
just go ahead ahead
they had that just go ahead
yes yeah
if you give us more and go
it'll be easier just go ahead

(16:09):
just go go
the cracks in the thing
just go
don't make it don't
don't I I break it
no yeah
this is this is my tricky spot too
the the yodel the like the break thing oh
I can yodel all day long
that's something I'm good at
we snarl you have to switch between registers

(16:31):
to make the yodel happen you can't make it yeah
that's just go
I would like to offer some like
a contrasting opinion or like
like other like yeah
view that
you could give us
the illusion that you're switching between registers
by adjusting your mix
by weighing down my mix
like staying kind of in a mix the whole time

(16:52):
you're just kind of playing with the balance of like
yeah that um just go just go
yeah yeah just go yeah
cause otherwise it
my tongue just does what she's gonna do
that's what's happened
that's why my flips don't happen

(17:13):
what's my tongue before it girl
put your records on tell me your favorite song
just yeah okay
um
nope I'm
I'm not gonna say anything
until we're done with that line sorry
hahaha just just okay so
so like you could do it either way
my tendency Lara's tendency is gonna be yodeling

(17:34):
cause she's really good at yodeling
my tendency is gonna be to just go ahead and oh
I'm only coming back into chest voice on head haha
just go oh hey
sorry yeah hey
I'm just a suck that's cool
but you have to
you have to be the right person to do it
keep it a little darker though
like don't smile so much
like I'm so happy to be seeing you

(17:57):
yeah I when I when I
you literally I was just about to say I noticed I
I did one flip this whole time
and it was the one time I didn't move my mouth
yeah just go
go ahead go ahead
there you go there you go
do it there yeah
keep it down just go
go ahead go ahead yeah

(18:21):
I think if you flip into head
I think that's gonna work better for you
than flipping into a
like flipping down rather than flipping up yeah
my flip yeah
I'm the same way my flip down because it's an ahead
like on the edge yeah
so it's gonna sound more like a cry than a flip
but just go just go go yeah
I really wanna

(18:41):
I cause I want my cause my instinct just go
just go ahead you know
maybe not like that but like yeah
go ahead like I my body is like belted yeah
yeah just go
just go ahead I like that
it's cool cry it
I like it yeah yeah
but let the uh

(19:02):
of a head have its moment as a note like you're giving
yeah I'm stupid
half a second of that pitch
and then dropping off of it
just go just go
no it's good yeah
a little bit more
a little bit more air so badly more breath
a little bit more breath yeah
just go ahead
there you go there you go ahead
let's show yes
go go

(19:23):
you're like pulling back don't like think up
oh yeah
it's my there you go
freaking tongue yeah
hahaha girl just stick your tongue go hahaha
and we all have those things
you know we all have those things
I tell everyone
I'm the president of the Tongue Tension Club

(19:44):
and they're welcome to join the board
I am definitely yeah
I'm in that club I get it
same same same uh
I have something else beyond that phrase
do you wanna try it a couple times with music
before you move on or do you wanna take
we could but I'll remember it
just that phrase or do we want
do we wanna do it for the pod
or do we wanna do it for me

(20:04):
it would be for you I don't need it OK
I think I use it for the plot
oh for the plot
for the vibes for the lore
throughout the chorus
you sound a little nasally
and I don't usually hear you sounding like that
hmm and I'm trying to figure out why that's happening

(20:25):
like
are you trying to like access a different kind of mix
and you're just kind of
sending everything up into your nose
and the smiley thing were you saying smiley
yeah yeah
lazy lazyer yeah
lazier mouth
and then I think that's gonna help you get out of
out of the nose just yeah
because you're not
you're not doing it on the high notes
you're doing on the medium high notes yeah

(20:46):
I totally do or am I making that up
no you're not
and I was gonna say
I think you could open like 30% more
even more yeah
like drop the jaw it's
what color is this song oh yellow
oh
okay
it's like more what okay
describe yellow yellow
it's like the song is is the sun to me hmm okay

(21:09):
give me more descriptions
more descriptions about the song
oh no no
I'm sorry about the color
about the color when you think it's yellow
it's golden you know
when you're like a kid drawing the sun and you're like
I'm gonna make the middle
the dark orange and then it's gonna get brighter
yeah hey girl um
it's gonna get brighter and lighter as it goes out

(21:29):
it's like an ombre like starts dark orange
so that's the that's the core of what I'm trying to do
and that's where the chest voice is like
really coming in cause it was yellow
yellow when I started and now
and now it's feeling a little warm yeah
she's getting she's getting the vibes okay
but yeah I think my tongue's acting up like crazy
yeah we yeah
we established that
like even before we started doing this yeah

(21:51):
I was in the kitchen with my tongue and I was like
oh she's nuts
so I think the nasality is I think one
my tongue is thinning probably overcompensating and
and so the rest of my mouth is like
how can I what can I do to make this happen
what can I do to not actually lower the lyrics
and relax the tongue hmm
mm hmm
yeah fair fair

(22:11):
yeah cause I don't usually hear you sounding nasally
and I'm like why
why why is she showing up here
yeah it's cause yeah
it's cause my larynx won't lower
I mean it will
but yeah
I hope it does it will
but it it's just something yeah
and that's why I asked you like
what color
cause I was trying to see if you could give me like
a description of like how yellow my

(22:32):
like make you like
feel and see the song you know what I mean
to kind of see if we can help find that like depth
that warmth that like
yellow might have it's that
I mean warmth yes
yeah
the warmth is what I was like trying to get you to say
but it's okay
you got there I was like yeah
deeper in the core um
do we think and I gotta be real here

(22:53):
do we think the influence of the Chipmunks
from Alvin and the Chipmunks singing the song
that is you think no
I didn't even know there was a thing
listen to that song as a kid
had an influence on me singing it like this right now
yes
without a doubt hundred percent yes
I didn't know they did that and they did it
it's when you meet the Chipmunks
and they're dancing outside

(23:14):
and the Chipmunks are like boy
oh like look at those little girl chipmunks
look at them they're so cute
and I'm like girl
punch her hahaha
you could be a chipette without any like alteration
that's my dream honestly
I get it

(23:36):
okay so we're lowering my lyrics
um actually yep
actually girl
put your oh
I need to let it out I'm trying
I feel like that was lower though
so I'm wondering if we need to girl
put your I'm sorry
I'm wondering if we need to put the key
oh we could
I mean we are
put the key down let's see

(24:18):
song Say I Love You
you're already going to the from a song
it's just song song
you know what just I just did was not try period
and then that just I think I've been trying
so I've been trying to sing pop

(24:39):
um there you go
I've been trying to sing pop
is that English what did you say
there you go
I heard a lot of time
there you go there you go
did anybody else not know what she said
no I got it sorry
she knows me it's fine
there you go
I'm trying to sing top in a mic and I'm girl

(25:02):
don't leave for we can hear you like yeah
I just need the mic's gonna pick you up anyways
I want you to like sing to the camera
what I need to relax what's your favorite no
this is stressful this is this is great though
you're doing good
also I don't really see you opening up your mouth yeah
in those middle notes right on the top notes yes
in the middle notes and usually yes
good thing like lazy keep it lazy

(25:23):
but also I think that's another reason why
you're kind of going slightly up into your nose
because you're not creating any space
for the sound to come out of the mouth yeah yep OK
so I'm opening song song down
so song
so uh
that's the trick from earlier yeah
so I just need to apply it to myself
yeah yeah
love love yeah
yes please
can I add to that please

(25:44):
um
when you have all these like da da da da da da um
I wanna hear you ring out on every note yeah
you're skipping through them really fast yeah
just go ahead with your head
put your head down you can still
you can still give us the same articulation

(26:05):
just go ahead but keep it on my
my tongue's trying to close it off for me
just go go ahead just go ahead say just go ahead
just just go ahead ha ha ha ha
I'm not putting enough voice into it yeah

(26:25):
just go ahead go go might need to move forward in space
may I offer something you're gonna with your shoulders
yeah
so you're like separate I'm gonna go to your body
can you just go head like move your hand
yeah forward
just go ahead hey yeah

(26:46):
that's yeah pretty good yeah
it's not head chest head now think
can you think just go uh
you h just go
uh just go
yeah I think you can give
I think you can give a little more gas
yeah Jessica
can I hear your tongue be a little lower in your mouth
whatever that was just go

(27:06):
yep
now do the whole thing just go ahead
just go ahead let your head down yeah
but on just make it just just just go ahead
just go ahead just just just yeah
just go ahead yeah yeah

(27:29):
thank you for your jaw us jaw
what am I doing jaw jaw
but what am I what am I doing
jaw jaw jaw
am I doing jaw like just jaw jaw ah
just yeah just just
just just just
just go ahead I need to do go instead of go just

(27:56):
head down yes yeah
there it is I'm doing on hair
I'm doing head head down down
give me a little space I like stop yeah
I'm prepping for so okay
here's what I'm noticing myself
I'm prepping for my flip back down
actually
by skipping the top and not giving the top

(28:16):
because I was doing
cause we noticed I was doing go and hair
so I was not opening all the way at the top
so I wasn't yep
that's okay that's what I think
but open all the time yeah
just just go let me do it on a
just go your tongue down just one day she will hahaha

(28:40):
okay jaw
my jaw will not drop today okay
just
just go ahead just
just just
a forward just go uh
I think I need to go more uh
because you're going uh
uh uh

(29:01):
yeah uh
is really hard for me I think I need to manipulate it
I need to tell myself that it's something further than
uh so I get to uh
you know what I mean um
yes and no um
yes I hear everything and you're like
I have so much tongue tension
my tongue is not behaving
I have my jaw is just not opening today
forget about all that shit
just sing it yeah

(29:22):
yeah out
just sing it Mama
just go ahead and however it comes out
however it comes out
just
someone skip the uh
but just
just

(29:45):
and you know what if you do it like that
it sounds awesome yeah
yeah we're working on something
so sounds freaking awesome dude
yeah yeah exactly
yeah and like
it also can be like okay
it's it's your
it's a it's a choice
it's an appropriate choice
it's by no means like completely out of left field
if you want to do that you know what I mean
yeah so yeah
you know we're just playing

(30:06):
we're just playing we're just having fun
yeah challenging
I like it I like a challenge
uh huh yeah
I like when things happen and I'm like
oh there aren't
things aren't working
you were very successful with your vocal fry though
I'm not a vocal fry I chilled out
yeah you did
yeah you did
I like it yeah
that's hard to do yeah
just go just just
oh

(30:27):
just keep everything a little bit more in your mouth
yeah in my mouth
yeah yeah
keep everything right here
yeah just go ahead
yeah for the entire thing
like even the the chorus um
can you do yeah

(30:51):
down oh yeah yeah
yeah yeah
yeah keep it in your mouth
not up here in the mouth yeah
can you do it the music again yeah
yeah breezy
like please play the track
did you change the key
trying to do too many things all at once
did you change the key no
no oh let's go

(31:16):
and they told me I don't need to worry
relax lips

(31:42):
things to change sure
haha
the more
head down it's on you
sapphire and faded jeans I hope you get your dream

(32:15):
somehow
what I want
more vowel and less consonant the whole time
yes yeah
especially on I'm stretching my jaw and so sweet
cinnamon it was very closed down cinnamon
um and also
I wanna challenge you to turn up your air hockey table

(32:37):
you just use my breath in general yeah
turn up your hockey air hockey table
I love that oh
it's a great and that was you haven't heard it
I miss that I was having dinner with a student
if you don't know what the air hockey table analogy is
you can hear about it right here
right there yeah
check it out hahaha
OK I'm gonna click yeah

(32:59):
more vowels more in more out
more vowels
I don't need to hear more breath in your voice
I just wanna hear your voice floating on more breath
girl put girl
and honestly more so in the verse
like yes
where you end the chorus is what I
where I want the rest of everything to live
not necessarily volume wise
but like how you're letting the

(33:21):
your sound move it forward into the room yeah
the rest of it feels like you're
I'm pretending to be stopping it right here
I'm pretending to sing pop
yeah what
use your voice girl yeah
let's do it again yeah
my zest for singing is getting in my way
I keep smiling haha yeah
like 3 sorry
but I was like relax your lips
no haha no
I loved it I respond to that okay

(33:43):
we're doing it again yes that's good
and they told me I don't need to worry

(34:17):
but it's alright yeah
more the more things seem
be the same oh don't you hesitate

(34:39):
hey sapphire and faded jeans
I hope you get your dreams
oh yeah hell yeah

(34:59):
that's it yes
the key is to just like sing the freakin'song
yeah that's wow
the whole time yeah
it's so like I came into this
like obviously knowing this is like MT
Singer does pop and I've trained commercial
and I know what checks the boxes right
and like I my first run checked so many boxes totally

(35:25):
but that is very analytical
that it was like
the most interesting thing to listen to
maybe and maybe not right
like who's to say like
I definitely I'm not gonna beat myself up and be like
my first run was so bad
like I don't know it wasn't one run and it was cool
you know 100%
but I physically
my whole body was relaxed by the last time I did it
yeah everything I was like actually just singing

(35:46):
I wasn't trying to sing the you know
I wasn't trying to check the boxes
like obviously I took our notes yeah
you know but like
and it's incredible how little
you need to apply all the notes
yeah right
like we were giving you multiple notes before
trying it again and you did a really good
great job at adjusting yeah

(36:08):
and that is very advanced stuff
you guys like that is a very advanced skill
usually it's like alright
one note let's try it again
and then we don't keep going with more notes
no yeah
no and then the next thing
so because you're a very very
very advanced singer
we can move through this stuff really
really fast yeah
we can put it on a podcast and say that it happened

(36:28):
yeah I don't know if you yeah
we were all so locked in there
we were like no
you shouldn't like
like we were like
we were in it there haha
it was great it's a really great
like example I feel like of the
everything happened when I chilled out and sang yeah
yeah like
you know maybe not every single perfect thing
but like but that's how it
that was the point yeah

(36:48):
yeah now it should be
cause especially if you're trying to sing pop
you're trying to tell a story
you're trying to connect with your audience
no one's gonna connect with your
with your song or with your singing
if you're thinking and like making
if you're making mental math yeah
if you're making if you're doing the math yeah
if you're doing the math the whole time
and your default my default is

(37:10):
I think
one thing that I need to just continue to realize
as a singer is that my default is to just sing
like my default is not when I sing a song
I know that I'm not gonna sing the song as you go ahead
let your hair down you know
like that's not
that's not what's gonna come out of my mouth
so and maybe that that's okay if it
if that's someone's default right

(37:31):
but like for me
instead of applying pop notes on top of pop notes
it was like oh
if I just sing it
the way it wants to come out of my mouth
I'm gonna check the boxes that I'm trying to check
anyway yeah
pretty much and keep it chesty and keep it chesty
which is like what I want to do anyway okay
there you go
but I'm trying to like manipulate my wind to chest

(37:55):
we all have a thing yeah
we all have a thing I have lots of things hahaha
I love it well done Emily hey
that's so brave you did such a great job
thank you for for singing for us
this is a treat
and it's so interesting to see what everybody
is picking up on

(38:15):
I'm realizing Bree picks up on a lot of vowel stuff
yeah
I wonder why yeah
I wonder why cause it was drilled into you oh
you sure was haha for languages haha yeah
it's but very cool I love it
thank you for singing for us
and any anything else anybody wants to say

(38:37):
you have a beautiful voice
you sure I do it's stunning
it's stunning it's stunning
sure do love it alright perfect um
don't overthink it when you're singing pop stuff
use your speaking voice
and then just put some pictures on it and go for it
don't overthink it you got it
it's that simple and it's so easy to make it so hard

(38:57):
yes yeah
yes yeah
very much so if you have any questions
let us know
shoot us a message on Instagram at Box Safe Studios
and also let us know how Emily did in the comments
she killed it and she killed it
don't you dare say anything negative
cause you're wrong ha no
I'm not gonna say anything negative but yeah
let us know what you felt like oh

(39:18):
I heard that too and the coach gave this this note too
awesome I can hear that
it's
it's so great to watch other people getting coached
and like
see what the feedback is that they are getting
and then see like oh okay yes
I heard this too or oh
I totally missed that one rewind rewind
let me see if I can hear that too so yeah
train your ears that way right
but anyways thanks for tuning in
