This week on the FROST Bites Podcast, we welcome an incredible guest, Jenna Bosi, founder of 412 Foster Project and one of PEEL’s past quarterly charity partners. With over 13 years of experience in the social work field, Jenna brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into the challenges of child welfare, women's health, education, and trauma recovery.

Jenna holds a variety of educational qualifications, including an undergraduate degree in Social Work, an MBA, and an MSW. She is also certified in Public Administration and holds a PhD in Social Work, with a focus on trauma and its lasting effects on the body. Her journey has taken her through roles with organizations such as The Children’s Institute, Allegheny County Jail, Western Psychiatric, and the Salvation Army, among others. These experiences shaped her decision to pivot her career and focus on systemic change, specifically in the areas of child welfare, education, and women's health.

In this episode, we explore Jenna's decision to create 412 Foster Project, an organization designed to improve the foster care system by addressing trauma and offering support to children, foster families, and professionals in the field. Through her extensive background in trauma-informed care, Jenna shares key insights into how systemic change can begin at the local level and radiate outward to create broader societal shifts.

As our co-host, Stephanie Samolovich, founder of YASU (Young Adult Survivors United), joins the conversation, we also dive into the intersection of trauma and women's health, reflecting on how YASU’s mission of supporting young adult survivors aligns with the goals of 412 Foster Project. Stephanie adds her unique perspective on how trauma, particularly in health and wellness spaces, impacts long-term recovery and empowerment.
