در ادامه معرفی آثار مهم در تاریخ فناوری و نوآوری، این بار به سراغ اثر مهمی از ادیت پنروز خواهیم رفت. کتاب The Theory of the Growth of the Firm نوشته‌ی Edith Penrose که نخستین بار در سال ۱۹۵۹ منتشر شد، یکی از آثار کلاسیک و تاثیرگذار در زمینه نظریه بنگاه و مدیریت است. پنروز در این کتاب با رویکردی مبتکرانه، بنگاه را به‌عنوان مجموعه‌ای پویا از منابع و قابلیت‌ها در نظر می‌گیرد و نشان می‌دهد که رشد بنگاه‌ها عمدتاً به دلیل چگونگی استفاده و توسعه منابع داخلی، به‌ویژه منابع مدیریتی و سازمانی، صورت می‌گیرد. او نظریه خود را بر این اساس بنا می‌کند که محدودیت رشد بنگاه‌ها صرفاً مشکلات بازار یا سرمایه نیست، بلکه «قابلیت‌های مدیریتی» و ظرفیت جذب و استفاده از منابع موجود عامل اصلی رشد یا محدودیت آن‌هاست. این کتاب پایه‌گذار مفاهیم کلیدی مانند منابع اضافی، قابلیت‌های سازمانی و نقش یادگیری در رشد بنگاه شد و تأثیری ماندگار بر ادبیات استراتژی و مدیریت داشته است. در این مجموعه دکتر مهدی محمدی، رئیس انجمن مدیریت فناوری و نوآوری ایران و همچنین دانشیار و عضو هیئت‌علمی دانشگاه تهران، به روایت خود از این کتاب خواهد پرداخت. این اپیزود یکی از سلسله ویدیوهای کانسپت است که در آن، هر بار به معرفی یکی از کتاب‌ها، مقالات و یا مفاهیم اصلی در مدیریت تکنولوژی و نوآوری خواهیم پرداخت. این مجموعه یکی دیگر از محصولات مجموعه futureof.ir بوده و با همراهی انجمن مدیریت فناوری و نوآوری ایران و مجموعه ویکست و به تهیه‌کنندگی صابر خسروی، تهیه شده است.
