Continuing on the theme of our assurance, this chapter gives us three aspects of our Christian life: (1) that the essence of the Christian life is abiding in Christ, (2) that we can know that we have eternal life, and (3) that we can know this by the Spirit of God dwelling in us. We also discuss challenges of presenting Christianity properly to the lost around us and the benefits of the Spirit indwelling us.
Next week we will be discussing the reading from volume 4, chapter 8 of “Life in Christ” by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones (pages 473-483).
