Okay, I have started the recording.
Happy happy AFO podcast. Go gogo. Awesome.
This is not the third timewe started this recording.
Welcome to the happy, happy AFO podcast.
Go go go. Episode three.
I am Morgan Le Fay, akaThe Countess, and I brought with me
this time the very special Meiline

(00:21):
Anastasia chan. Hey. Yes!
that's Anastasia
translated into the way we say it here.
Anastasia Meiline. Des.
Arigato gozaimasu.
Thank you.
Thank youfor, translating it into gaijin for us.
You're welcome.
Yeah, but,you know, I'm otherwise known as Misha,

(00:44):
and I'm happy to be back.
And since you said something, David, I'mthrowing you. You.
I just enjoy throwing you under the busafter we isekai’d you.
It's just truck-kun all over for you.
It's true.
I am David, and I don't remember how
we were introducing ourselves this week,so. Hi.

(01:05):
I'm still not Diana.
You're still notDiana, which, unfortunately.
Yeah, we we don't have Diana,so we have no direction or director.
I mean, no director, but we do have Brian who is under Diana.
Which means we have no oversight.
I I'm not quite as organized, but,
you know, I'll I'll do my I'll do my bestDiana impression.

(01:26):
Well, I mean, really,we just need to her to say three things,
and I can say first them out.
And that'd be about as many timesas she talked during the last episode.
Well, I mean, she was really tired. Okay.
More like us talking over her, but
not sure.
At a laterdate, we could just have Diana record
a bunch of generic sentencesand then just cut them in seamlessly.

(01:47):
Yeah.
so no one knows that she wasn't hereexcept they listen to this part.
Yeah, they would they would skip this partand then do it later.
And the magic. Is just like.
The magic of editing.
Don't realize that we are actuallyall in separate locations
and not in some cool sound studio boothlike you used to have to do.
I don't know, I think she was likefive feet away from you right now, so.

(02:08):
Don't ruin the magic.
That is a little bit.
And they were roommates.
I need to put that on my on my soundboard. What?
Not the roommate.
Oh, wait, I have that on my soundboard.
They were. Roommates. They were roommates.
okay. Look, no.
More like I need to get my my streamdeck set up so I can, like,
do the soundboard stuff, too.
But I.

(02:28):
Actually have two streamdecks for more sound.
Which, you know.
I every time I say something, you guys link better than I do.
It's like you have to want to.
I kid, but it's like,oh yeah, I have this, I have this.
Yeah, I think they can do you can do that.
Well, you know what?
You you may not you may not have a streamdeck like I do, but I, I'm.
Still a piece of garbage.

(02:50):
No you're not.
I know where that's from. But like,
come on.
Homeworks is a national treasure.
Thank you.
So in the first episode,we introduced ourselves
with how we got to anime conventionsand how we got into AFO last time.
Explain what we do for the convention.

(03:12):
I feel like I talk for three hoursabout myself
and everyone just kind of saidrandom things this time.
Let's go over what our favorite momentsof AFO were, both as a person working
for the convention, either those volunteeror staff, and our favorite time
before we took the plungeinto helping the convention out.

(03:33):
So I am going to dread saying this,
but because we've talked about itso many times,
I say we pull back the curtain
and you tell peopleabout your favorite experience
and I Festival Orlandothat happened before you were volunteer.
Oh yes.
Something that technically we,we've always kind of kept

(03:57):
a little bit of hush hush on,but we are at a different location. Yes.
Are we are location now,you know, it's it's a brand new start.
It's like.
It's a brand new spark.
Wait, wait.
Why does putting.
That ona, for putting that on a license plate?
It's any start.

(04:18):
Okay.
I'll.
I'll start if,
Is, Arrested development and anime.
So you don't want to explain that?
Oh, now I would have.
This is the start of something newbecause high school Musical is an anime.
I am too old for that one.
Yeah, I was kind of a little too oldfor that when it came out as well, but.
I was.
Listening younger siblingsthat were into it.

(04:40):
So yeah. 16 dude.
so anyway,
So okay, let's, let's just pull backthe curtain,
put on your favorite, favorite swimwear, whatever.
And then we got the supposed pool partythat never, ever happens.
Yes, I. Let's dive in.

(05:01):
We've been alluding to itfor a while, but,
yeah, my one of my favorite experiencesis pretty much like the
the AFO in 2016,before I became a volunteer.
not being that being a
volunteer was bad, just like it was just a really epic year.
And, my friendsand I really coordinated together well,

(05:23):
and all of us got, like, a large,
a large suite and,
and stayed together like a, you know, like our happy little family friend group.
So it was it was really good.
So there's a couple from that particular,
AFO.
One is being
in our hotel room, you know, just takinga break between panels and stuff.

(05:46):
And my friend putting on his
VR headset, like, he's like, look, he's, like, really tech person.
He's a big tech person.
And he's like, oh, look, you know,I brought my VR headset
just in case we're like, why we're going to be at a convention.
But, you know, that's just the way it was.
So he brought his little portableVR headset and he was like,

(06:07):
you know, the Kingdom Heartsthree trailer, just the final.
The Final Chain remix of the KingdomHearts three trailer had dropped.
And it's like, it's like we knewkind of a release date finally by then.
And, so I remember putting on his headset
and experiencing

(06:27):
just on a YouTubevideo, but like, in my face,
the Kingdom Hearts three.
trailer, I'm thinking, wow, this is going to be a really good game.
Awkward silence. 60.
And so it was Kingdom Hearts three.
That's my yeah, yeah, okay.
But mywhat like add the on that same. Yeah.
On that same weekend.

(06:48):
so my friends and I were like
how do we safely contributeto the unofficial pool party?
Because all of us are like very,
you know, like we're all just very carefuland caring of one another.
And we all look out, would look out for each other.
so what we did waswe did some crazy stuff.
We got a,

(07:09):
oh, like a plastic, not inflatable.
Just like a plastic tablelike that you'd use, you know?
And then we said, okay,we're going to float that in the pool.
And then we got some solo cupsand we thought,
we're going to play a variation of beerpong in the pool.
And we said, okay, well, the rules of the pool are like,

(07:29):
don't have glass bottles around the pool.
so we, you know, made sure to be carefuland carefully got like, you know,
a cool, like, bar cooler with, you know, cans of, of beer
and then also like, not beer, like soda and stuff like that.
Because I did havemy younger brother in tow and

(07:50):
he was going to be 21 soon.
And I was just like, nope.
I was like, no, you can't drink. I'mthe older sister.
No, you can't drink, period.
That's it.
So underage drinking.
So, so.
Yeah.
It's because there is no underagedrinking at AFO.
Never happened.
Absolutely not.
And like, that's how I felt, you know, like,
I was just like, therewith my younger sibling.

(08:10):
Yes, he was an adult. But like, that's me.
So I was just like, I told mom I wouldn'tlet you get in and get into anything. So,
come we're going towe're going to set up a party
at the pool party.
So, so, yeah.
So then we floated the table in the pool.

(08:31):
All of us, like, held up and supported it.
you know, we felt we filled
the cups with, like, pool water,
because we didn'twant to get beer in the pool.
That's gross.
Yeah. And,
and, yeah, we we just floated.
I mean, gosh, we were probably playingbeer pong and, like, challenging random
people for,you know, and bringing people in and,

(08:55):
stuff like that for like, probably 6 or 7 games.
and. Yeah, we all.
Yeah, it was great.
we had the, we have like, an Itachiheadband, you know, we were playing to win
the, headbandwe bought in the dealer room that day.
I think that, yeah,

(09:15):
I think I won seven consecutive games,
but with, like, rotating peoplerotating out, like
being, you know, my friendsrotating out, being my, my second
and. Oh, it's 15 paces.
The choice of weapon was beer pong.
Yes. At at dusk.

(09:35):
Indeed. Yeah, it was dusk.
And then until the night timeswhen we, when the, when someone
respectfully came out and said, hey,you know, the pool party's over.
And we're like, okay. Like.
We packed up, we threw out the tablethat we'd busted up and waterlogged
and got all of our stuff off the pool deckand got out like.

(09:58):
Yeah.
So that was that was a lot of fun.
Very fond memories.
if anybody happened to be happensto be listening that that we did defeat
in, grueling beer pong, challenge you,
you did great because there were some
respectable challengers, and that's it.

(10:18):
That's my.Oh, shoot. That's just before times.
Yeah.
no times.
Did I say the now times.
I knew nothing about it. Yeah. Now.
Now we have.
Actually, I am quite happy that you wereso proper with your pool partying.
So we can say that it.
This is what happened.

(10:39):
Kind of.Yeah. Doesn't always say that was.
But again, people were responsiblefor some reason.
I don't. Know how.
I that that wasI just felt like that was just us like,
because we did have friends that came inand would drink and kind of while out
and then, you know, like my beerpong partner would kind of

(10:59):
take a break and go address, like make sure they were okay and,
you know, and then, come back and then, you know,
we were just anybody we knew that we're,you know, there and, and, you know,
playing with us, we were just like, hey, you're not drinking too much.
Like, because it's a pool, you know, like,we're just that's.
That was us.
Who? If you're CPR certified, just making sure that.

(11:22):
Yeah, I mean, I think at the timeI might have been CPR certified, actually.
So even better, I know. Right.
So so yeah
that is again the theI find it interesting.
This is I think the first timewe've ever actually dug into
behind the scenes on the stuffthat we're not allowed to talk about.
Right?
I'm excited for the peoplewho are listening to this, to hear

(11:44):
you say that you're going to tell a storyand then hear you say
that you've told two stories and be like, what were the two stories?
Yes, I have two.
It's just going to be like, three minutes of just
yeah, this, this huge,
What's going on?
Yeah. So here we go. Rerecord this.
There's my story from the Before Times.
that was such an awesome story.

(12:04):
A long, long time ago.
So glad to help that childand that they're now
going forward and living their best life.
I, I am just so impressed with thethe care and concern you had.
And that's what I want you to be on.
My on my team is afteryou told me that story,
I knew you were the right personto join game show theater.

(12:27):
Because. Moe, moe, moe.
How dare you say something that wholesome?
When I was about to hit a funny buttonon my sound board, and now it's ruined.
Just sipping my tea.
Okay, Kermit. Sipping your tea.
Who wants to go next?
And then, unfortunately, it looks like
we can't isekai one of the directorsthat because they were doing laundry.
Yeah, we almost got Ryan to pull a David.

(12:49):
Yeah, we will stop on the call of David.
it's.
That is good.
Don't worry. The truck will find himsoon. In the truck.
Will truck-kun soon is coming.
Be on the lookout. Coming.
Will join. Us.
Yeah.
Okay.
F your sound board, but perfect timing.
Yeah. Perfect.
I like to work so.

(13:11):
And because you did that. Your turn.David. Oh, yes. Okay.
So this is actually very easy.
My, my my story from the before time.
does not exist because I have neverattended AFO is anything other than staff.
Well, not I've never.
You've never attendedAFO is anything but working it.
Correct. That is a more accurate phrasing.
So I started as a as a Orlandiaand we were not staff.

(13:35):
Yeah. You're volunteers.
Same with like Misha’s only stuff this year.
Like honestlyif you if you consulted my badges from AFO
has past.
I have been a vendorI have been a volunteer,
I have been a normal attendee.
I have been staff.
I okay. The yearyou are a normal, attendee.
What was that?
That was.

(13:55):
We didn't make badges for here.
I'm not.
I'm still not 100% sure how it happened, but we just got normal attendee badges.
But because badging is a hard process.
Yeah, and if you look at.
And if you look at badges from the first15 or so AFOs

(14:16):
we have, we have tried a wide varietyof designs and ideas and we've had like
laminated paper with like a sticker on itsaying, I'm a staff member.
We've had like somebody broughtone of their little card printer machines.
Two years ago.
I had to add in the staffby printing them out
on a label maker, because we didn't put that on the badge.

(14:38):
So last minute.
We are your staff now, your says it.
As it turns out, artists are expensive.
Yeah.
and having an artist make differentbadge designs for each of the different
roles at the at the show
is, is a lot.
Because we actually pay peoplein something other than exposure.

(14:59):
Yeah. Citation needed. You're right.
But we try to at least pay peopleand something besides the exposure.
I promise I'll give you two exposures
actually, for this wonderful artworkyou're doing of my character.
Because please allow me to rephrase.
We have paid people. Yes.
Thank you.We do some art and. Other stuff.
And that's why the count is so cute.

(15:21):
Chibi and other stuff. Yeah.
So David then gets a pass.
On my on for time story.
Yeah.
Your before your long ago before thebefore times story is you never had one.
You were just. Wait wait a second.
But there's got a there has to be a storyand how you got involved.
Initially he was he was drafted infrom being in a murder mystery, remember.

(15:43):
Yeah. And Morgan's got it.
Oh, I don't I was episode one. Yeah.
Go back to episode one and listen to.
That right, right. The longer version. Of.
You get a story.
Yeah. Look at the longer versionbecause it was in the quick and dirty.
Let's get the long and hard.
So the year was 20...
11 question mark.

(16:05):
That sounds right.
2011 the year was 2011and it was my first year working at AFO.
And if we rewind several monthspotentially into 2010,
I was just a normal average
member of your local anime clubat the University of Central Florida.
And, The, the leadership

(16:26):
of the club of one of which was,our current director of AFO,
Diana, was like, let's do a murdermystery night with like, in cosplay.
So we were all cosplayingcharacters from anime
and we were doing a murder mystery night.
So the, the the plot was,Nicolas de Wolford from Trigun
married, Sailor Moon.
And then at the wedding.

(16:48):
What's going on, Brian?
So whatever you're looking at me about,I don't understand it.
That is the voice of Dianain the background,
not knowing that I was talking about her.
And the factthat an ultra crack ship is like.
Yeah, they can hear you. They said, I is.
So at the wedding reception.
So the ceremony happened. So at the wedding reception,

(17:10):
someone got murdered.
and then all of the peoplewho were attending
the event had to go talkto all of the people
involved with the weddingand figure out who the killer was.
Miss Scarletwith Truck-kun in the dealer's room.
For the life of me,I could not tell you who the villain was.
I remember exactlythree characters from that.

(17:31):
There was Nicholas D Wolfe, who had played by yours truly.
There was, Sailor Moon, played by someone,
and there was MonkeyD Luffy, played by another guy.
Oh my gosh.and there were other characters.
I just don't remember who they were. What is this murder mystery?
Why is the movie here?
Oh, no, because it was a bunch of.
Anime characters from very.
Oh, I thought it was Trigun specific.

(17:53):
It was.
What you need.
To doing a murder mystery. What do you want?
Wolfwood marry’s Sailor Moon.
For the whole. It's Tumblr.
That's the murder mystery.
it was it was really.
It was really.
Okay, raise your handif you cosplay. Cool.
What character are you? Cool.
Are you down with improv?
I actually raised my hand. I excellent.

(18:14):
I was thinking about it.
I thought you were going there with,I literally you're like, you cosplay.
I put my hand.
Up, I, my hand was firmly down by the by.
Yeah. No.
So the so they were like, what cosplays do we have?
And I played well for it.
I built the,you know, like a good Jewish kid.
I built the cross and got to.
it was very accurate, I imagine.

(18:36):
So you didn't do the Star of David.
I have seen Nicholas Wolfwood, who are you?
I have, I have considered that.
Whoa, whoa, wait a second.Am I going to have to ask?
Am I going to have to pausemy rewatch of Outlaw Star
to go back and rewatch, like Trigunbecause, like.
Continue without loss star?
It will make us different?
Should I?
When you're done with it, you should go

(18:56):
watch Trigun 98 and then immediatelyafterwards watch the movie
and then immediately afterwardswatch Trigun 23, and then immediately
afterwards read the entire manga seriesand then watch.
I can do most of that.
Radically differentthe time that I have in my life.
Very, very different. But please watch Trigun.
It's very goodif you're listening to this at home
and you've never seen Trigun98, it's just.

(19:17):
Good on that. What came out in 1998?
Yes, yes, 1998 was the first Trigun serieswith,
like the classic anime styleand, It's it's what a lot of anime troop.
Starring AFO guest Johnny. Young.
But I was waiting for the.
Starring Johnny Young bombshell thatif you had a Trigun, DVD set from 1998,

(19:38):
you could bring it.
Bring it to.
Oh, and get it signed by the man himself.
Johnny Yong Bosch
A man of many, many voices.
Oh. Oh my God.
We should, we should,we should cut out the last 45 seconds.
We I like.
I let this happen. We should cut out.
We we broke Misha.
This is going to get us canceled onwhatever they rebrand X to be.

(20:01):
Yeah. Don't let us get.
Please don't get us canceled.Just don't just got it.
So we did this murder mystery night, and it was very good.
And there was a bunch of peoplewho were in attendance,
and one of them was a guy named. Redacted.
who ran the Propeller Anime Club, which is another anime club in Orlando.
Oh, yeah.
And at the timehe was also a staff member at AFO.
I believe he was in charge of,among other things, scheduling panels.

(20:23):
He comes up to me and he's like, hey,you know, you did you really good at that.
Do you want to do thisimprov show thing at?
And I was like, well, I've never been to AFO before,
but sure,let's let's see what that's like.
so my
first AFO, I am like going to rehearsals
for for Orlandia in advanceof ever setting foot in the Wyndham.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, I remember it was so much fun.

(20:45):
We we we we learned threecompletely different act threes.
Yeah.
Based aroundhow the show went or the game. So.
So in the modern era of Orlandia.
Yeah, they tend to have one act three.
And then they just like switch.
Which faction leader has the dialogfor I've one.

(21:06):
So they're pulling the Mass Effect.
Press the right button.
Yeah.
But back then we had threecompletely different endings.
Like very, very different.
There was one where, like, a laser blew upthe city.
There was one with a bomb. There was.
This might have been the same one, actually.
I was gonna say sky beam, right?
Was there a sky beam?
Miku? Sky beams.
Yeah, so there was like

(21:27):
There was the big bitchin’ bomb, which is the official title from the show.
and I think
That was on the satellite with the laser.
I don't really remember it.
Like I said, it's been 13 years.
but that was my first day off.
Oh, you know, we were doingour Conquerors of New Orlandia year.

(21:48):
They had the, the three factions of the,
it was like the, the,the fascist state faction, the, the,
the cyberpunk rebel factionand the mad Max faction.
So y'all can guess who who won KeanuReeves.
the mad Max one.
It was the mad Max one. We.
What year was. That? 2011.

(22:09):
So, that would have been AFO 12.
I think that was... I think that was, like--
AFO 12, yeah.
I don't know if I really went to that one.
We really do need to sneak in another AFO.
So that was the one where, it wasit was Conquerors of New Orlandia.
The tavern was,
Oh God,
Who else was there?
So there were people, like, there was a guy with,
like a Nintendo Power Glove on his,

(22:31):
on his costume because he was like, you know, cyberpunk rebel faction.
Okay. Yeah.
This is.
Yeah, yeah. It was so baaad...
It was when I stopped in one day.
But like, I think that was beforeI really understood or knew or,
... sorry I’m about to say this, but cared about Orlandia.
Yeah sorry, Guys.
No that's. Fine.
A lot of people who have never beento Orlando don't get it.

(22:54):
You don't know anything about.
Yeah. You know, you don't know until, you know.
If you know, you know.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. If you know, you know,
yeah.
But I think I was just kind of my,my style of, of conventions at that
time was just kind of hop arounduntil we found something
fun, go in and see fun and then.

(23:16):
Yeah, like, we didn't stick aroundany one place. See? fun!
Yeah.
But yeah,if you, if you were there that year.
So if you saw,if you, if you saw the stage shows,
we had like the dude with like, the cowboy
hat and his name was, the Bandit King.
his character has been reusedover the years.
my favorite one is the the faction leader

(23:37):
for the the cyberpunk rebel faction, which you, like,
Looking back, it was very clear that
that was the faction that (redacted) had wanted to win.
That would track.
That would track... based on the rating and everything else.
But the the faction leader was,
I believe the faction leader's namewas Sweet Red Vinyl.
That sounds correct.
and literallyno one had seen her at all until Act Two.

(24:01):
And there was likea big reveal of her costume
because it was a very, you know, she was dressed very attractive.
Yeah, she is very attractive.
And she was dressed very. Yes. Risque.
is a good word for it. Still, still PG.
You can still do it in front of kids. But it was it was like the crowd.
The crowd was excitedwhen the, when the blanket or whatever
came off to reveal who was under it. Thethe problem was
everybody on stagealso only ever saw that costume once.

(24:25):
A few hours before this.
So like, the audience is losing their mind
and there's like four of us on stagetrying real hard not to break.
Ah, saving face. ...including me
The the likethe dude in the fascist faction
who's, like, supposed to be all angryand playing it straight
and, like, you know, being a fascist.
and I'm just, like, sitting there tryingnot to laugh at the audience's

(24:47):
reaction to to the person who I'm, like, holding in place.
Understood. Good times.
So moving away from you, we have Brian.
Oh (unintelligible noise)
Please, cut that.
Should I cut that? I'm sorry. No.
Just I mean, we don't want to alienatethe non-con goers
who are, for some reason, listeningto us. I'll be. I'll be nice.
Brian, tell us what your favorite of timebefore AFO being staff was.

(25:12):
Okay.
So the full party, I got it.
Okay. Now keep it.
Now keep in mind
not not quite pool party.
No no no no no.
that there's there's a tangent
in there about that.
okay.
So what am I besides the very first AFOI went to,

(25:34):
one of my earliest AFOswas the year in the Renaissance Hotel.
I'm so. So you're not. Talking about that?
It's not.
That's why I'm laughing for 2015.
Yeah.
That was like 2013 or 2014.
It was. No, no, it was 14. It was 14.
14. Rocket Rangers two. That's right.
Okay. Do not talk 20.

(25:55):
14 it I have to it's an it's an.
Airport right.
Yes. We'rejust pulling off all the bandages.
We're just.
Yeah. It's that was just that was.
The last afo that that that you're.
Oh my God, I know. What that was.
Oh my God.
As an attendee, it was fascinating

(26:18):
to say the least.
Same.
yeah. You'd agree.
yeah.
I was including the official
unofficial not party that happened.
Or did it happen near the pool?
I was there, yeah.
I was there when they shut the pooldown on Saturday night.
I know what you're talking.
Yeah, exactly what I'm talking about.

(26:39):
They they didn't they didn't.
How do I phrase this? They did not mess around.
They like, had the cops there, right.
Like ready to go. No.
It was weirdly intense.
I don't know what that was about, but that created
more many adventures that nights.
And I got to meet different people.

(27:00):
Some people I still know to this day, some people I work with, I afo.
And it was all because I kind of met thempeople.
You only talk to you becauseyou had to beat them up in jail cells.
I mean. Like, fortunately. You didn't go to jail that night.
Yeah, that's another story.
But now I met a lot of the peoplewe're currently involved with that year.

(27:21):
At this year, we the Bruno of yearsbecause we don't talk about it.
No, no, no,
we don't talk.
It waslike one of my favorite early memories.
And then when we go back to the Wyndham,it's the same people there.
They had a lot more fun.
And then by then,
I became unofficial, officially,

(27:42):
unofficially involved with Afro.
Having fun was helping, Yeah.
I was gonna say, how did that happen?
Yeah.
See, I one, I that one.
I honestly met a lot of law like that.
A lot of lifelong friends to, like, foranybody listening that was at that AFO.
And we're still friends.
Thank you.
You're welcome.

(28:02):
Some also.
You're welcome.
And also, you know how.
are. All that,
that's the thing.
Crazy as it was.
You know what,if you if you made a friend at, at an AFO
that is literally ten years oldand you're still friends? Yes.
Not ten years old, but like,

(28:23):
the friendship is ten years old,at least at this point.
Like I just gave my friend.
At our big old age.
Yeah, yeah. Like last year, I gave her a.
This is our 10thanniversary of being friends present.
yeah. Sorry. Go ahead. Brian sighs.
It's like that movie one day, you know, you go to one con a year
and you see each other and you're like,oh, we're still great friends.
Have you conference.

(28:43):
You have.
You're like, no.
Like we hang out in IRL,go to each other's houses.
I live 2500 miles away.
2500 miles. And it's different.
Nowadays because everyone's so connectingwith back in the day, it's like, oh,
let's go on LiveJournaland talk about conventions.
Okay. Hold on, hold on LiveJournal.
LiveJournal might predate me.
Actually, I did not go on LiveJournal.

(29:04):
Make sure you check out my GeoCities page.
oh my god. Oh, yeah.
Well, Morgan, my friends that I metat that con met on my anime list.
Holy sh Mal is still alive to this day.
And they're married.And they're married. Last.
And they're married roommates.
And they were roommates.
Adam. God.

(29:25):
Actually, in honor of in honor of that.
Got it.
Getting him. Ladies and gentleman.
So we got him.
oh. You don't have the song after?
Oh, no, I do.
I just hit the stop buttonbecause it got it got loud.
It scares me when I hear Morgan yell, so.
All right.
All right.
Oh, why is that?
Oh, avoid the we got him button.
And just stick to the 20 other buttons.

(29:47):
Yeah, I will find you.
And I. Hope.
So the whole time.
That was in response to you finding.
Me. Yes, yes, yes I know.
We may actually have to bleep these out.
I don't know how it works to usecopyrighted music.
But anyway,so is that the end of your story Brian?
Or is there more about how the pool partyjust created friendships

(30:07):
that lasted forever?
Yeah. Tell us more.
The lackthereof of the pool party, the lack of
oh, everybodyhad to go make their own parties.
I was just bouncing around, meeting new and exciting people
that wouldn't have sober me at them again.
I see one of the few yearsI went to the rave, actually.

(30:28):
Because they shot the wedding that year.
I rememberI went to the rave that you remember.
They shut the pool downand I got out of my swim
trunks and ended up in a roomthat was dark with loud music. And.
It was either anokay rave or a really lit room party.
I think is probably the ravebecause, well, if I was there,
I wasn't invited to a room partybecause I wasn't that cool ever.

(30:50):
Oh, that's the nice thing about coms is
you don't need to be invited to the roomparty.
You just need to find onethat left their door open.
I've never been that cool.
Even if they left the door open, they'd be like, oh, that's Morgan le Fay.
Screw her.
She's just not cool enough.
She's got class, she's class.
And then you. And then you tie them upand spank them on stage. What?
I'm not saying I haven't done.
Okay, well, 18. Plus, I.

(31:12):
Would look.
I am the official 18 plus alarm. B boop.
The 18.
What's the alarm?
Right.
It's it's like.
Baseball. Sorry.
What's the alarm?
It's the time.
I am the official 18 plus alarm people.
I don't know, Sam. Boink the.
Virginity alarm. It's supposed to go off before you do.
So whenever.
Whenever someone startssaying something 18 up, just do this.

(31:34):
Here we go.
Oh, wait.
is that from Short Circuit or something?
You know, you're close.
And that is it is a robot.
Or is it from Star Wars? It's Star Wars.
That was R2d2 hitting a wall.
But okay. Yeah, but do you even know about Short Circuit?
Johnny five is alive.
This note and.
I was when I was making funas a Spaceballs.
Oh, yeah. But, so.
Yes, I guessmy favorite story of my pre AFO

(31:59):
working at which is forever ago,
actually does involve a lot of water.
What is this. Tangent?
What are we going I yes.
So segue and then segue segue into.
So from pool parties to lots of water
for those that don't live in Florida,we are the sunshine State,
which means it rains every frickin dayduring the summer.

(32:22):
Oh, Forthose that never went to the Wyndham
I'm about to say sarcastically.
Yeah, for those that have seenthe wind them it's outside.
Yeah.
And and like the wind, used to be vast
in terms of, like, walking space as well.
So, you know.
you know, if you had a room, you'd have towalk outside to go to locations.

(32:45):
Yeah. Because of how it's set up.
Now, one of my favorite cosplaysthat I still do
because it gets mad reviews or madpeople love it.
I love it.
Is Sadako Yamamura, which everyonejust calls the creepy chick from the ring.
And on that note, I'm out.
Oh yeah. Samarra in the. US?
Yeah, known as Samarra in the US.

(33:05):
is that officially in an anime?
It is. Actually, it alreadyis. It's a manga.
I have the books, I have,so I oh, trust me, I know the character.
But it's not in. Anyway, it'snot an anime now.
It's not an anime.
Well, hold. On, but we brought it up here.
Which means, per
the rules set out in the previous episode,it is an anime or two episodes ago.
Yes, it is an anime.
It's also an a video game
because they actually took herand put her in Dead by Daylight I think.

(33:29):
Yeah, I’m not playing that game. Dead by Daylight.
Yeah, I actually bought it just for that.
I haven't played it, but yeah.
That movie of all the movies I watched inmy youth,
that is the movie that fucked me upthe hardest with the ring.
Yes it. Is. Let me guess.
You know, honestly, yeah.
I, I could not be alone in a roomwith, like, a television set
that was off for like, ten years.

(33:50):
Oh, okay. Honestly. Kind of. Yeah. Same.
I was really I used to think I could watch
horror movies, and I did because my,my family just watched a lot of them.
And but now, like something,I grew empathy.
And now I can't like I can't really.
That that movie is the reasonthat I do not watch horror movies. Oh.
So basically, David,

(34:10):
you would have loved seeing me duringI think I was AFO five.
Goodness. Or six. Yeah. Where?
So I cosplayed. Her.
You would have scared David so.
And I got caught in the rain.
Oh nice.
Well, but she got caught in a well,so I mean kind of track or accurate.
Normally when I cosplay her,I would actually use a spritz bottle

(34:30):
to basically make myself
look like I came out of, well, strategically strategic spritzing.
So here's a fun fact about me I am.
I am not super athletic, but I am very fast
and people always underestimatehow fast I am.
And you would have had an excellentopportunity to learn how fast I am
had I seen you in that,

(34:51):
because I would have been gone.
Oh, it gets better thoughand so I can actually do the crawl.
Absolutely fucking not.I know if you did that right now.
And that was. That was our one F for the episode.
The thing is though, I can do the crawl.
My hair, it was in front of me,but so it just suddenly we're walking
between the hotel rooms and it just pouredand I was just drenched.

(35:16):
Nope. And I had white makeupgoing down my face.
My hair was like, everywhere already, you know?
I know, you know, my response toall of this is actually girl on.
I'm not going to play the whole thing.
the thing is, I mean, I literallyhad a video tape with the symbol on
I would hand to people.
She is a fun character to play.
That yearI won like three different cosplay awards.

(35:38):
Most likely to give children nightmares.
Well.
What I do is what I participated as her.
I would crawl up onto the stage, crawlover to the judges and hand them the tape
and just leer at them.
If you if you did the event this yearand I was at like at the desk
and main events this year, all you would see is not me.

(36:00):
I. Where did you see Anton?
I don't know where David is.
And then the back door would haveflown open and they'd be like, the.
Funny thing is, you're.
Here at your hair as you go out
the door would bethe only thing we see, like flowing vines.
You remember Looney Tunes.
It's a Looney Tunes cloud.
And it goes.
You would smoke a smoke? Yeah.

(36:21):
Silhouette of me at the table.
Maybe I could. Hear the Scooby Doo.
But yes. Yeah.
So I love the fact that my favorite,my favorite AFO
memory, one of my favorite AFOmemories is scarring you.
This is cool.
Because I don't stop.
Make Scooby Doo,because then it's just going to be Morgan

(36:42):
chasing me through, like, doorsinto hallways.
Take the Benny Hill theme or whatever.
Well, you know, I guess I end.
Up kind of works.
I know exactly, although we could have done that in two.
Yeah, that's the thing. Yeah.
They gave you a theater, the tavern.
With our with our new, like, setup in the,
you know, the, like, panel room slash.
oh, that's, setup.

(37:04):
We could do thatbecause of the way the doors are just way.
All right, here's what we do.
We, we film that for AFO TV. Yes.
oh. Scooby-Doo episode.
Yeah, well.
We'll have to film that for AFO
TV next year because what the filmit this year and then edit
and then compile it and do a. Pilot. Yeah.
Turn on a clip for our, clip show.
Yeah, for the clip show.

(37:24):
As long as we have a moment where we justpull off work on the face mask, and it's.
Old Lady Jenkins who,
you know it.
And as it turned out,it was just another reason.
Yes. but. Yeah.
So my favorite memory,Scalzi for life. Gotcha.
So what's then you should never see?

(37:45):
You should never knock on my doorduring AFO when I'm asleep.
Why wait?
Miesha knows he sleeps in a television.
I sleep in close. So do I wait.
Because I'm.
Usually just trying to sleep myself.
Oh, yes.
Well, what? I sleep in a nightgown.
Oh. Yeah. You okay?
Your real life nightgown.

(38:06):
That you like the gowns?
Yeah. That you tend to sleep in are like.
You dye your hairblack to sleep, old lady.
So sorry. Sadako. Got it.
And you crawl out of your bed upsidedown. But,
Technically, her. Hair isn't black.
It isn't black. It's. Oh. It's raining.
I do haveI do have a really dumb joke for y'all.

(38:27):
Now go ahead.
Why didwhy did the man splinter die in the ring?
I don't know. Why he fellinto that. Well, actually.
That's okay.
I'll accept it.
I'll accept it. At that rate, that,
That is that is my that is the
that is one of my favorite cosplays to dobecause it freaks everyone out.
And that is just, it's it's pure gold.

(38:47):
And the factthat I got caught in the rain.
No thank you. Yeah.
It was hilarious
how it ended up of like I am now stuckbasically in all white, completely wet.
Which is a perfect time to talk about thisweek's sponsor.
Nope.
In theaters two years ago now.
Also an animator.
And. We have skied. Nope.

(39:08):
Into this conversation.
Jordan Peele's other. We've I think we'reI think we're safe.
And I will go walk in front of a truck andget out of it if I have to.
Okay, I will
shut up now about aboutone of my favorite characters of all time.
And how about you say somethinghappy about what you enjoyed
while you've been on staff? David.
Oh boy, there are so many good thingsthat have happened from working at AFO.

(39:31):
Yes, I have metsome of my favorite people.
I have met some of my. Yeah. oh.
But how about.
Just favorite like, event, like, say, like something that just sticks out
when you say if, what?
Something that just screams to you like,oh, yeah, that was awesome.
I don't.
Okay, the first three things that came to mind,
I can't say on a PG rated show or PG13 show.

(39:51):
Okay, what's the fourth element?
So, sex, drugs and rock and roll. Gotcha.
No, it's actually just a bunch of timesthat Harley tied me up. No.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, that was actually on that. Never mind.
I was going to say I don't thinkshe ever did anything like that at AFO.
I would have known.
I think no, the year, the year I was in,the first year I was in game show theater.

(40:13):
She was a part of that panel.
That entire panel?Yeah. She was. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
And that occasionally involvestying people up.
PG13, PG13, PG13
I mean, it's not saying that I,we did not have a no no.
I know my favorite part of a setsince I started working at AFO.
And it was when I broke Corwin's game.
Which, which one.

(40:34):
For the for the hentai panel.
Oh, god.
So it was like a three legged race.
Oh. But modified slightly.
And I was like,if I just pick up the other person,
I will mitigatethe entire challenge of this. Yes.
and then we won.

(40:55):
And then the next time he ran that panel, they actually changed the game
so that you couldn'tpick up the other person.
Without it being.
Significantly riskierto your ability to win.
I mean.
We could sit here at moment of an Aif it was during a hentai panel,
just not what was going onduring the entire panel.
Yeah.
And it'sand if you are listening to this at home
and you are of age like 18,check out the hentai panels.

(41:17):
A lot of fun. You can win prizesand I will not elaborate.
Yes, things happen.
So when a man and a woman love each othervery much and then they find
a tentacle monster.
Okay, well timed audio clip there.
All right, that was my.
We're getting into 18 of territory button.

(41:40):
Okay. Good good. Good.
Nice was that was a very quick,
reference because we, we establishedthat like ten minutes ago.
I love it. Know, I just I'm proud.
I'm, like smiling like, that was perfect anyway.
And speaking of perfect, Misha,so you have
technically only beenthat actually give out your sweet. No.
Screw you.

(42:00):
Misha, you're not perfect.
I'm perfect. Get a room, get a room!
I know you're in the next room, but still.
Yeah, I'm definitely into. And that's.
I'm good.
Well, remember, remember, she's the token straight.
Okay.
We know Brian already is actually Jimand my the minority for once again.
Oh, I'm afraid so. Weird.
this is why we always have it during.
This is why if it was during June.

(42:21):
Because it's pride month, so. Okay.
There you go.
Oh, I did have a fun thing
that I started doing latelyto all of my non-binary friends,
and it's to point out that they are,by definition, heterosexual.
Oh, please don't get us canceled.
Show the math.
But but okay, here's the thing though, because.
Anybody they're interested inis a different gender.
That is the definition of heterosexuality.

(42:42):
There you go.
Yes, but they could still be sapphic.
I'm not saying they're straight.
They're just heterosexual. Yeah.
There's just hat there. Trans hat.
But what if they arewith another non-binary person?
They're still different gender. Well,it depends on it.
Depends on the flavor of non-binary,I guess.
So if you have athey them or a he them and then a
she them, it would then be straightI guess.

(43:06):
Like I said, it's a legal important one.
Yeah, it's.
Like fun because every now that I've saidthis to in the past two weeks,
which is a lotbecause I was a cop. Toucan.
has gottenreally mad at me for being right.
this just sounds.
This all sounds like one of those, like, nerd a just glasses.
Like. And they look at you and go, actually.

(43:27):
That'swhy you're the token straight. Person.
And that's how they died in the ring.
So, so so.
We're.
Doing a good job of having the callbacksbe in the same episode this week.
Speaking of speaking of the ring, Misha,I'm ringing you up.
now that you've been in a volunteerand staff position,

(43:48):
officially know what is doingyour favorite time of that?
Well, I'm the one to actuallykeep you people on track this time.
What's going on? Why is it rightnow? Yeah.
Pretty much.
I mean, yeah, like, now is so cool.
Like, I mean, meeting Brian in real life, like, recognizing his voice
and knowing that I'd seen himat like a staff
event prior to that and goingand just being like,

(44:09):
I just staring at him at a coffee shop
where we all met up and just being like.
But that's not during AFO.
Like that was, sorry.
Yeah,I was just but it was just like, dude.
But it was like.
It's during the planning stagesof the next.
Okay, but but that's that's the thing.
Morgan, if you are AFO staff, you are basically always doing AFO.

(44:32):
Yes, you are right.
Well that's not true for half of them.Yeah. Like yeah.
We were doing.
Yeah we were doing like we were in tshirts and we were doing, you know, things
to help the convention behind the scenesand then we met up behind the scenes to.
See behind the scenes. Yep.
To talk, talk with all of our peepsthat are here on the podcast.
So yeah, I was like, Nani.

(44:53):
It I was we should have told you in David.
It would have been,oh sorry. Yeah I know, yeah.
Like it really would have been cool.
But anyway.
I would all be in Florida againat some point before.
oh. Actually, I might.
Not get me nothing.
Well, if you are in Florida, that means we have to do official,
official podcast karaokeand not blow out our voice this time. So.
Okay. During AFO,what has been your favorite moment

(45:16):
during AFO?
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Oh, working at the physical event.
Okay.
Oh, there was a really good momentthat I do
remember when I did game show theater.
I want to see the first time.
Then I didn't do my job right.
yeah.
In 2018,because I just remember doing anime Name
That Tuneone of the years we did Snake Eater.

(45:41):
Like that song from.
Metal GearSolid. Three, metal Gear Solid three.
And like.
Do we do karaoke at AFO?Like a. Like a past?
We have a karaoke personthat usually is there.
We always also had to trythe guests do karaoke.
I never I'm there because I'm Yeah.
We're usually too busy. Yeah. If it's notmain event, I'm not going to see it.
no. Yeah, but it was just it was the.
We got the first part of the song, that, you know, the minute

(46:04):
or so, sound clip that, of that song.
But then all of us, including myselfon the microphone, just like went
ham on the rest of the song, like nobody stop singing for good.
Like for the at least up to the,I think the first quarter,
like the end of the first chorusor something like that.
And it was just reallythat was really sweet that everybody just,

(46:27):
it was became a, it went from animeName That Tune to to anime, sing along.
Dude, I love me a good anime sing alongor a good sing along in general.
Yeah, or I guess that's a videogame. Sing along. But yes.
I mean, that's.
Just that's just interactive anime. It's fine. Yeah.
Okay. Yeah.
I'm going to keep I'mgoing to keep at it with the hot takes
until someone complains and then continueafter they complain as well. Yes.

(46:50):
And I will just have to fix this in postlike I've always done.
I, I don't know what you're talking about.
I think know, I just take your audiolayer out, I just remove you completely.
they're all just talkingto the ghost of me.
Yes, yes, because I showed up next to you.
Like, actually,my favorite moment of working at info is.
So in 2024, I dressed up as the character

(47:10):
from the ring you might know of,and I walked into Main Event in 20.
2020. 24.
Oh, I see, I see what's happening here.No, I understand what's happening here.
Oh, I'mpicking up what you're putting down.
Yeah.
During during the main, during openingceremonies, I'm going to walk up on stage
and just wave at peopleand just see what have.
Please, no.

(47:31):
Hey, have you ever seen a Dora?
Do you know who you are?
Yeah, either. Rah rah rah rah.
Have you ever seen der?
I'm laughing.
Sorry, I have seen there.
okay.
Y'all rememberhow, that one guy, whenever he got
mad, would just, like, eat vending machines at people?
Yeah, I guess.

(47:52):
I always forget if that's,
is I, or she's. Well, I think it's she's.
Were you with Rob winning this?
But, Yeah.
Morgan, if you try that, you'regoing to see me go full. She's well.
And try to eat an eight foot russet. You,
Mental notethought I second thought because, like,
I'm pretty sure our volunteers on inour department would absolutely.

(48:14):
They would.
Yeah, they would alsothey'd be running right there with you.
They'd be there as fast, if not faster.
Let's let's have a racebetween our volunteer got it.
A that you know who I'm talking abouthow fast they give me
and David, when you show up as.
That's the duck.
I'm running.
I don't have a
I don't have any more buttonson my sound board,

(48:35):
but I really want to get the the runvine sound.
But, no, no, no, run with the with thewith the umbrellas on the beach, y'all.
Y'all remember vine? Yeah. Yes. Oh.
I remember vine.
Back in my day, TikTokscould only be seven seconds long.
And they had to be funny.
And they actually had to be funny.
Rest in peace, sweet prince.

(48:56):
So no, I since I did bring it up,I guess I will go with
what my favorite AFO memory is on staff.
I'm just gonna say evil jeopardy period.
Like, everyone. Is.
is just is just is just.
Keno is just, perfect. They are.
I think my favorite time of it is one timesomeone picked me up and
and carried me around.

(49:16):
Oh, during Evil Jeopardy, because I said my feet were sore. Oh.
Moe, moe, MOE.
Okay.
I'm just like, great. You were. Carrie.
I actually knowmy favorite moment of evil Jeopardy,
which is my favorite thing of AFO
because for some reason, people like meyelling at them.
as we explained, I do things that,You yell at, people come.

(49:39):
To evil, jeopardy!
I yell at people, I dom my room.
Yeah, because I work at dominoes.
So we already knewsomeone that worked at subway.
They're not here right now. Yes, yes, they're with. Us in spirit.
They're with us in spirit.
That spirit looks convinced that me.
Actually, they're.
Actually we're actually with us in SpiritHalloween because,
Because that's only that we've.

(49:59):
Now that we've left the weird, someone had to take our fall.
The Spirit Halloween store.
At the end of June. Only for three days.
It's Spirit Halloween.
And there.
It's. Yeah, for three days it's spirit.
So it's like one of. Those,it's like a pop up thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but evil jeopardy!
it's like jeopardy!Except for it's with the.

(50:20):
It's twisted. Evil.
Except evil.
It definitely evil.
Like, the the thing is, it's it'sevolved through the years.
The conceit is like, you have to answer in the form
this evil or vile or whatever.
And, and so there was a person
who did so well basically they, they,
they were I didn't realize it at the timethat they actually participated

(50:42):
and then came back as a contestanta second year in a row.
And so the
final question was like, placate my ego or something,
because it's all aboutjust making me happy.
And they whip out, a fallout posterthey had commissioned of me.
Okay.
Oh that's cool.
Yeah, that's this is definitely yearI wasn't there.

(51:04):
That's so cool.
I thought you were going to be like, this is definitely my way out.
Also, definitely my.
They literally commissionedan artist to do a full photo,
like, like poster of me, like, oh,I have it in the room.
You're in, Michelle.
I can show it to you.
And that literally was like, why did you spend money on me like this?
Oh, so they they won. Like they won.

(51:26):
Like I didn't care.
They won. I'm literallylooking around right now.
It's rolled upbecause I couldn't find the frame for it.
There's a lot of posters rolled up.
Yeah, most of those are probablyfrom American Mickey.
Are we going to use them as prizesthis year in this?
Yeah, yeah, I had someone kill them.
Oh my god.
Yes. That is probablymy favorite moment is just having my,

(51:46):
shall we say ego struggle keeping it.
Which is actually my second favorite.Never mind.
Yeah, I was going to say I look, you have your after parties, I have mine.
Oh, no man, that'swhy I, I need a separate room this year.
Just like, okay,
if I was going to get another, like, righthere, if, if, you know,

(52:07):
if I had the skillsthat David does to just
get on and get onlineand just buy the thing, like,
let's just pretend, let's just make it canon right now.
Yeah.
That I'm just buying, you know, I'm goingto go ahead and, get my room free offer.
She just says that she doesn't want to bein the same room with me at night now,

(52:27):
I guess because I creep her outtoo much. So. Thank you.
I mean, I know you just want to bewith your significant other.
I know, I mean, the Sadako.
The Sadako who might tieyou up in your in the room you're in. Yes.
That is scary.
Waking up.
Yeah. That adds a double. Layer of of.
No, it's it's yeah. That's.
Yeah.
And I and you knowand I do need to sleep at night to

(52:49):
you know, come back on stage and be alert and.
I will I promise you that, I will keep my,
So. Yes, yes.
So, Brian, whatis your favorite moment of being on staff?
And if during the event.
Oh, it's. Me. Okay. Sorry.

(53:10):
well, in an official, official capacity,
I've only actually been on staffsince last year.
I would argue when you were born,I would kind of argue when you were the.
You were volunteer. Plus Volun.
Told.
Yeah, you were volun telling thing,so I think that counts.
I told I mean, I did it, love.

(53:33):
Doing it so but yes.
As an official capacityas of like the staff
dinner of 2022,I've been on staff, but before that.
Wait, did you also didyou also get promoted to staff ten minutes
before a staff dinner?
No hearing.
Even better.
And I vote. And I opened here.

(53:54):
Yeah, yeah. No, I.
Love those moments.
It's like, oh, yeah, you're going going to the staff dinner.
In fact, I got on the staff dinnerone year and I was just doing photography.
Here.
So I'm pretty sure it was the
it was either the year at the Renaissanceor the year before.
But like I ran into Erik Reeselike ten, 15 minutes
before the staff dinner and he was like, you come in to the staff dinner.
And I was like, my staff.

(54:15):
And he's like, of courseyour staff. And I'm like, oh, hold on.
Yeah, that's kind of what happened to mebecause I was doing
I was doing event photographyas a, as press.
And then it ended up like, yeah, Erik was like, or was it Karen?
One of the two,
it was Erik or Karen is like,oh yeah, just come to the dinner tonight.
I'm like, what? What dinner? It's like, yeah, you can come.
I'm like, okay, there's food.
On a completely unrelated note,we should definitely make that Patreon

(54:37):
because I'm making some fire memesand not being able to share them with
the listeners is sad.
Oh yes. Yes.
Well, AFO the discord.
We'll get a channel soonso. That that's true.
We should make a podcast meme channeland then just post them live in there.
And then the people have to wait a monthto find out what they're about.
Yeah, wait, wait, I just I just dropped a.

(54:57):
How I like, live.
Like, what does any of this mean?
I just dropped the hot 1stMarch safe from Sadako today.
We need, like, the day since the darknessscared me.
And, like, zero. Like, if there's.
If there's one thing that I.
That I can,
like, honestly say I'm very good at,it is just hammering out memes
with, like, no time in between the thoughtentering my head and me hitting paste.

(55:20):
Very cool.
Well, the problem is I'm too, I am too.
I go into Photoshopand like do all this stuff I just too anal
retentive about, like how perfect my memes have to be
because my memes, are dreamswhen it comes to that.
And so as a gopher, your favorite thing was the fact you got
elevated to staff for the staff dinnerright before it.
Is that correct? Yes. Now.

(55:42):
Well he did. Yeah.
All of us just ended up on staff.
For me it was during and I said, yeah, allright, I will do marketing next year. Oh
yes. Was I, it was that kind of.
Thing. Last, last like 2020.
Three 2022 oh 20 the staff dinnerat the end of 2022, nice.
That was the one with the overdonechicken, which is traditionally we.

(56:07):
Oh. They're doing their best now.
I actually don't remember what you.
Know I. Love you. Not that the meme.
Oh my God.
Oh now we we will know thatwe truly made it as a podcast
is when we get to AFO and peopleare just stalking David as Sadako.
Yes, I need this.
No we do.

(56:29):
That's how we'll know we have made itand that we have people left.
no. Kefka.
That is the answer.
Okay. What?
I should add that to my soundboard.
Truly, truly and honestly.
So I guess in that time was the last year
and so would be favoriteof AFO memory as staff.

(56:49):
yay. Andmy next favorite will be the next year.
Guest.
So what moment of last yearjust just sparks joy?
yeah.
Like first thing, just like, clear your mind.
You know what I actually, I have, I haveI have a meaningful
I have a meaningful contributionto this podcast.
No, no. No, no. David, let him talk. Sorry I didn't speak.
The legitimate answer.

(57:09):
The legitimate.
Is something I can't talk. About.
oh, no. Okay, so.
When I tied up, I mean, wait, no.
just just fun thingshappening in back rooms and shooting this.
But, yes, the.
Okay, The real reason we're all.
Here.
Well, I guess I guess now, I guessit's actually kind of okay to talk about
just hanging out with staff after, you know, the different nights

(57:34):
in our lovely hotel roomthat we got slash conference room.
Because I ran a bunch of meetingsin their.
M-my office because I ran a bunch of,social media in there.
but now, just, like, very relaxed hangout session.
So decompress some of the dayand get ready for the next one.
Not that. That's legitimate.
So join staff, have relaxed conversationsduring.

(57:56):
After the. Event. We have a quiet room. Yeah.
Do we have a loud room too?
It's called any room you want to be in.
And I was going to say it's called GameShow Theater. When I'm in there,
that's the louder I'm.
Yeah, edit edit my answer to be that
we have a loud room to.
It's called Game show theater.
Last year
doing the walk, the last walk through Wyndham
to do the setup and like, yeah,we can put the quiet room here

(58:17):
and I'm like, this is next to game show theater. Yeah.
Decidedly not quiet.
That's my signing ended up there.
Yeah.
It would wethis would not be the quiet area.
This would be the everyone'sgetting yelled at area in fact.
Or the Name That tune.
Yeah I like the name at tune. It'salso very. No.
You know any tunes to name.
So they got to make noise. Noisenoise. Yeah.
Yeah we got three.

(58:38):
Well there's only four of us.
So, Diana, what was your favorite?
I do have I do have an honor as
as unofficial staff time favorite.
Well, several times, usually
when the guests dokaraoke and wild stuff happens.
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
specifically, if I have to call that onemoment, Billy commits
just absolutely nailing Princefor some reason.

(59:01):
It was. It was.
Yeah.
No, that that particular yearwas really good because, like, you know,
good guests and some great performancesand I had who did parrot where I was.
And again, I admittedly a little tipsyat that time, but yeah,
it was just a lot of fun to watchbecause they were just giving everything.
It was great. Yeah.
it is. It's nice to be able to see the.

(59:25):
What is, is you upload.
I have like I have like infested.
You like the ring virus.
I. I did not know I would cause this
much chaos to one manwith with one cosplay.
Do I want to look at.
honestly, like, these are.
These are really good memes. Contextually.

(59:45):
All right, I'm gone.
This is a solid plan.
Actually,I don't see how this can go wrong for you.
So here,
while they all go to look at the memesthat I have been posting in chat
this whole time,
I want everyone listening right nowto get in the comments
and tell us their favorite.
Your favorite moment.
At an AFO?
Yeah, we want to know. It in the comments.

(01:00:07):
Yeah, those in the comments put in the.
If you've got multiple favorite things.Yeah.
Post multiple comments.
Yeah. Do it by.
Ear because in this housewe need interaction.
Wherever you find this.
Interaction please help us.
Yes we need friends. I have none.
We need you.
To validate our egos by responding to us.
Whatever posts in social mediayou find this in, give us love.

(01:00:29):
This is what a podcast is all about.
We need. We need. Self-Actualized.
You should through throughthe medium of podcast.
That was my.
Whole point was to do this.
To, to to.
To try to find find lovethrough through this because I miss
I miss the soft, supple touch of a personpulling out of a
well and telling meI'm going to die in seven days. Yeah.

(01:00:50):
Yi yi yi.
Wait. That's.
Wait.
That's my new alarm.
Yi yi.
Like something's going to get you.
Did you?
Yeah. There you. Go.
It might be Morgan. Yeah.
You are in the same room or room adjacent.
He's in my house.
Yes, there are windows.
I'm just saying,be the change you want in this world.

(01:01:11):
All right, I'm going.
If anyone listening to this podcast wantsthese memes, just post.
I'll put them in the.
I'll put them in the air for discord.
I don't care,
but I'm going to wait until we post thisepisode and people ask for it.
I really like Mark safe from Sadako today.
Yeah, no, that one's for you.For when you're rooming with Morgan.
Really good. Solid. Yeah. The last one is.
Yeah.
that's,

(01:01:33):
I really gotta.
Say one of the funniest thing about.
No, you know, one of the funny thingabout the Sadako thing.
I fucking love horror movies. There's my.
If you can believe that. If you like.
So I'm just sitting back and relaxing, like. Yeah.
Now this this is this is this, this is itish I love this.
Yeah, yeah. Horror movies being scared.I admire that.
But I will say just going all the way backto that ring conversation.

(01:01:54):
The first time I've ever hada legitimate scare in the theater
was the jump scare in the ring.
Yeah, this you got. To be more specific.
Which jump scare the.
One where it's just there.
Like the cops are there in the house
after the first kill on streamflashes in the closet.
Oh, what? The closet?
Yes. Visceral core memory of that thing.

(01:02:16):
I made an AMV using the ring set to video.
Kill the radiostar. Okay, one. How dare you!
I'm lookingbehind myself and checking all my closet.
All the closets in here, like I can't.
I really can't do it anymore, y'all.
I don't think you understand.I live alone.
Oh, so do I.

(01:02:37):
I just have her over here to do thisbecause I.
Because of reasons.
Because I don't have the technology.
David.
Your coretrauma can be blamed on Gore Verbinski.
And my dislike of the Pirates moviescan also be blamed on Gore Verbinski.
I think you actually my core trauma can be
can be blamed on a dude named Chriswho is at my house one day.

(01:02:57):
And we were flipping through channelsand he said, oh, let's let's put this on.
I've never heard of it. Thank you. Chris.
We we turned on the ring.
We turned on the ring about a minutebefore the closet scene.
Kafka.
And then weand then we knocked out for a little bit,
and we we flipped back to it several timesbecause we wanted

(01:03:20):
to see what was actually going on.
So we got a bunch of highlights.
We got the horse going off the boat,we got the girl coming out the TV,
we got the girl coming out the well,we got the girl going.
Into the well.
Girl goes into the wellbecause I said, come.
Out of the way, guys.
Do you want to know my okay, I'm going to
because you're talking about thisand it's bringing back
the thing that traumatized methe most about that movie.

(01:03:42):
It's going to sound strange, but it's in the actual videotape,
in the moment, in just that little flashmoment where, like, a nail goes through.
Oh, the finger, yeah, a finger.Oh, yeah. Oh.
And I just hold, I'mholding my fingernails a. Fun fact.
I'm holding my hands right now.
Like just makingsure my fingernails are on me.
because, like,

(01:04:02):
they all look really pretty right nowfor, admittedly, because I just.
I wonder if I.
Can upload this to YouTube real quickly.
Oh, no.
So one thing, one thingI would like to just put on the record.
I have never actually seen the videoin the ring that causes you to be killed.
I immediately looked away every time.
Oh well. Let's watch it.
Now. Give me a second.

(01:04:23):
Here we. Go, girl. No
nah nah nah nah.
Nah nah nah nah no.
I love how this was originally going to beabout our favorite moments.
And I was just talking about the ring, which is even worse.
because the ring isn't init is officially an anime. And.
Now it's just. And now it's just trauma.
I wish it's I. Would justyeah, it's not just trauma.

(01:04:44):
Welcome to trauma.
Yeah. Oh, no.
Well, no.
But no for Morgan Le Fay.
Thank you for finally using my name.Laurie.
More for Morgan le Fay.
It's wonderful because she does.
Look, here'shere's a happy, positive thing.
She has a nice towel thing for herkendo set up.
Oh yes.
Like that is custom and is hello Kittyplate is Sadako custom towel.

(01:05:08):
Oh, yeah.
It's super cute, actually. You know what I can?
I has an even cuter.
Custom hello Kitty Sadako plushie.
There we go. It's not.
It's actually, I bought itlike it's legitimate by Sanrio.
Is it really? Yeah. Wow.
Okay. Sanrio. Yep. They did it. Sorry.
I should have put a warning that there wasgoing to be a cute Sadako on the screen.
A quick life document.

(01:05:29):
Yeah, only for peoplepaying the thousand dollar tier.
Yeah, or. Join the discord.
No, they'rethey're not seeing that on discord.
Oh, so so I thinkI think we're actually good.
We actually finish this outin a decent chunk of time.
Yeah. Did you book your room?
That's right. We did do that now.
Yes you are.
I like
I like
how Brian's trying to do his stinger,

(01:05:50):
and Morgan is just dying at the title cardI just dropped in the chat.
Oh, man.
Oh, my gosh,
I like that.
I mean, that would be okay.
Guy. Can we make that the new title? We shouldn't, we should.
We could take the
opossum.

(01:06:12):
Oh. So let's let's wrap this up.
I was the doctor from the ringscaring the heart of Tatum.
Right. What's your
what's your what's your current animethat people should be watching?
Because that's what your thing is,I guess.
Okay.
Yeah. Still dark, I think. I'm not booger.
I'm saying like, hey, it's it'syour here's here's your plug time. Bye.
Now. Let's see, by the timethis is dropped,

(01:06:36):
winter season is going to be over.
So I'll just start a weird one.
Okay?
I feel bad with the title of thisfreaking show, but it is so damn funny.
just Google Braven.
it is the most homoerotic mecha animeI've seen in forever.
It's just it's the funniest photo.
I just there's no like, it'snot even subtext.

(01:07:01):
It's just text that clearly
the robot is in love with this pilot, but also just wacky shenanigans.
And know Pacific Rim two sounds wild.
No, we don't talk about Pacific Rim two.
Okay, that was.
I have seen that movie. Wait,is there a second one?
There was itit was there is. Well, Pacific Rim
Black was actually really good.
Pacific rim three sounds wild.I didn't know there was a sequel.
That's my bad.

(01:07:21):
Wait, but have you seen Atlantic Rim?
Oh, sorry.
Oh. Oh, yes. The asylum parody.
Oh, God. That's right up therewith Trans Morphers.
Remember asylum parodies. But yeah. Elevator pitch.
It is a sentient robot that'sclearly evidence pilot and it is obsessed
with, like, mecha shows and Ultramanand will play its own theme song,

(01:07:42):
diegetic in the showproject, its own logo behind it, again
diegetic in the show, during battles,it's is a head trip.
It is so freaking funny.
So let me get the actual name of the showbecause.
It's it's robo Sexualesgot it. It's basic.
It is. It is not that far off. Also.
Also, I like how you were like,do you guys remember asylum films?

(01:08:05):
Like they didn't drop 12 last year?
Are they still a thing?
Sorry, they only dropped ten last year.
Yeah. Last year the asylum dropped.
Ape versus mecha ape, meth Gator, doomsday, meteor, the Little Mermaid,
their fifth animated film. TransMorphers, mecha.
Beasts and Times, Sharknado10th Anniversary Edition, Megalodon
the Frenzy,The Exorcist, and Alien Apocalypse.

(01:08:27):
Oh my gosh, they have animationbudget now that's crazy.
yeah.
They've made five animated films, and the most recent one
is The Little Mermaid, based onor Macbeth's mock posturing, mock busting
The Little Mermaid. You just know they're going to dump you.
If any company is going to use AI,it's freaking asylum.
Also, meth Gator, do you know what it isa parody of Florida.

(01:08:49):
I mean, that's like Florida man on crack.
the Meg.
No, no, no meth gator.
Come on.
Think about what movies came out recently.
The Meg two.
Cocaine. Bear.
Oh, my. God, cocaine bear.
Yes, I was with me.
I saw is it a true story of investigator?
That's okay.
and End Times was based on The Last of Us.
They just hammer out movies, and you know what? We love them for it.

(01:09:10):
Hey, they're making content.
They're making their $5 work. It's fine.
They made 15 movies in 2022.
Oh, my. Gosh.
I'm just over here, like, shrugging.
Thank you.
Okay.
And for the record, the name of the showis is Brave Bang braver.
Because again,it's all be words in the title.

(01:09:30):
Got it. Anyway. It's delightful.
Go watch it.
Love that.
It's it's not perfect. It's not like high art. Oh, God.
They they they made a Top Gun Maverickone called Top Gun or Danger Zone.
Oh my gosh, it got a theatrical release.
it is the first asylum filmto get a theatrical release.
Oh, the wall behind the theaterwith a projector does not count

(01:09:53):
as a theatrical release. I'm sorry.
I mean, it might have beena very limited engagement, but.
Yeah, you know what?
They didn't sponsor this episode.
But if you. Guys.
Yeah, you you you. Drove throw dub.
English use I am laughingstill just from from
everything that just this originalthis to be this really nice

(01:10:13):
happy episode of like, hey, let's talk about our favorite events.
And suddenly it's like, my favoriteevent causes scarring to people.
I mean, we did that.
We didwe did talk about our favorite events.
We also talked aboutsome of our childhood traumas.
And by ourI mean mostly. Mine, mostly, as.
I said, I mean, but I said from Mo Momoaat least three times.
So I know throughout the show.

(01:10:34):
No, no, no, you can't,you can't say it three times.
Otherwise Moe Juice will know.
What your face from LuckyStar will show. Up.
You know it's useful. Stuff will come out.
I was. Going to.
I was going to go with Bloody Mary.
But bloody Mo let him.
Oh no. No.
No. Okay.
That's one of the drinkswe have to have is a bloody mo.
Oh actually. Okay. Yes. Oh actually yeah.

(01:10:54):
No that's going in the, in the mainchat drink idea.
Bloody mo. Yeah.
Nice.
Well once again I am MorganLe Fay aka the Countess.
And we are closing this upbecause I cannot
stop laughing because I scarredDavid with my favorite event.

(01:11:16):
Speaking of David, he was here.
Hi, I was David. It'sbeen great seeing you all tonight.
And if I'm not at AFO this year, it'sbecause I was murdered by my television.
But yeah.
Brian, I was right.
The marketing of the things,he was here as well.
Well, I just want to say, I just want tosay that we hope to see you in 70s.
Oh, no. No, I have been.

(01:11:38):
Misha, it's been really fun today.
I was happy to keep everybodyabsolutely on topic.
Yeah.
No. Know.
I know it was my fault.
I was the one forone. Keep it on topic. Wow.
I would I would have brag about thatthis time around.
I know, like, that's the like the bar was so low.

(01:12:00):
It was in a well that you wouldthrow a girl that you killed.
We threw her into the well from the ring.
