InTime Crime presents Crime Mini for cases that did not get extensive coverage,
but InTime Crime would love to tell you all about it.
Music.

(00:33):
Thank you guys so much for tuning in and welcome back again And like I said,
today is a mini series, our very first episode,
because I come across cases sometimes where there's not a lot of in-depth coverage.
And therefore, I'm like, oh, this is interesting, though. I want to tell you guys about it.

(00:57):
And therefore, In Time Crime Mini is invented. Okay, so today's episode is the
very first episode of Cry Mini.
Thank you guys so much for tuning in.
I hope you guys are having a wonderful Thursday.

(01:17):
Like I said, it's a mini series, so it's going to be quick. Okay,
it's going to be quick. It's going to be fast.
All right, so today's date is around February the 11th of 2004.
2004, and today's coverage is on the case of Charles Davis Jr.
Okay, so Charles Davis Jr. is a 21-year-old Navy, what is that like, Navy General?

(01:48):
Let me get my words right, hold on.
Okay, so he's a Navy technician, okay? So basically, what happened here with
Charles Jr.? Let me tell you all about it.
Okay, so Charles has been away for.
Doing, basically fighting the war on terrorism.

(02:08):
And he's in the Navy, which is water-based. So he was in a submarine,
a nuclear submarine, USS Memphis.
And he was away for about six months. So he was on a mission for six months.
And when he came back home, it
is stated that he got into a

(02:30):
a terrible argument with his
girlfriend and basically it
went it went pretty bad and he ended up
strangling her now his girlfriend was also his is also his fiance so let's just
say his fiance she's 20 years old her name is berlinda parker and they also

(02:54):
have a five-month-old daughter and her name is Jalen Davis.
So I'm sorry, the date is actually January the 31st when this happened.
It was January the 31st of 2004 when he came home.
And so like I said, he got into an argument with his girlfriend and he strangled, I'm sorry, his fiance.

(03:23):
He got into to an argument with his fiance. He strangled her.
And then he also strangled his five month old daughter.
So they asked him, you know, like what happened?
What made, you know, what made things get so out of hand to where you had to
end up killing these two people that you're supposedly, you know,

(03:46):
supposed to love to no end.
And then, you know, he was trying to say that.
Basically being in the military, being in the Navy, it drove him crazy.
So basically he had like a case of like PTSD.
And, you know, the argument was so bad that he just decided to take it out on

(04:08):
his fiance and his daughter.
So they also spoke with the grandmother for Belinda.
And the grandmother also said that this is not in his character to be like this,
This is not typical of him to be this angry, killing spirit.
This is not something that he'll just up and do. He's not a killer,

(04:30):
but he is in the Navy and he is being trained to kill.
So they're like, she's trying to say that it's not safe for people that are
being trained to kill people to just, okay, go back home.
We trained you to kill Tom, Dick, and Harry. Now go home. Go home to your family and go chill out.

(04:52):
It's not really something that's possible for most people.
Like when you go back home, you may need to, you know, diffuse from the situation a little bit.
You may need to be, you know, kind of gently.
There might be there might need to be a program or some kind of counseling before
people can just immediately come back home is basically what what's being, you know, taught here.

(05:16):
Like, it's not OK to just let these men that have been killing people back and
forth to just come home like it's a regular day.
So, yeah, basically, that's what the grandmother was saying.
He's not this kind of person. This is not in his character.
He is being he's been at a place for over six months or close to six months

(05:40):
being trained to kill people. So his natural instinct is going to be,
I get angry, I'm going to kill.
So, yeah, it's very unfortunate that, you know, he died.
Had that mindset at the time. I'm pretty sure he is very regretful.
It is said that he is extremely regretful. Like he can't even believe that he did that.

(06:04):
And right now he's being held. Well, right now, not right now. This is back in 2004.
His bail was set at $3 million and he could be sentenced to death.
Like I said, I couldn't really get into the case because they They don't have too much about it.
So that was what was posted at the time, that he may be sentenced to death and

(06:30):
his bail is set at $3 million.
So, yes, I just wanted to tell you guys about this case because it's just really
interesting how things like that can happen where, you know,
people go to war and come back home.
And it's been more than once.
A lot of the serial killers of, you know, the popular cases of serial killers

(06:54):
that you've heard about, a lot of them were in the military.
They were in some branch in the military and came back and maybe they were living
regularly for a moment, but at some point they lost their shit and killed everybody. back.
Okay. So this may be something that has to be further looked into for counseling
or something for these young men and women who are joining the military,

(07:18):
which is very important.
They're doing a very, very extremely important job that many people don't want
to do. And they're fighting for our country.
So we very much appreciate it, but something has to be done about them coming
back with PTSD and this sort of stuff.
So yes, that ends today's coverage, mini coverage on today's very first episode

(07:45):
of In Time Crime, Crime Mini.
