He is a professor of economics and a co-trustee of the Afghan Fund, which was set up two years ago in Switzerland to administer $3.5 billion of Afghanistan's foreign exchange reserves. He has all the numbers at his fingers tips and refers to them to make a series of points about the economy before and after the fall of the republic.
