damn radio Hello, good evening.

best brightest day in Radio here at the
Lake Ozark real estate of the art studio
You can listen to me live every night
from Sunday through Thursday at 9 p.m
On Sundays, it goes to 11 and all

It only goes to 10 30 p.m
That's central time United States all of our
shows and not just my show, but all
the other family shows are Available in a
podcast format from damn radio calm forward slash
podcast and mine are separately also held out
(01:03):
at international flavor calm I have been engaged
in some research on state Overreach once again
all day.
I've been pretty Pretty what do you call
it?
Engaged in that and it just it drives
(01:24):
me nuts.
I really hate to see State overreach.
I hate to see state employees Going into
places.
They haven't been granted authority to go Creating
things.
They haven't been granted authority to create interpreting
things.
They haven't been allowed to interpret all Kinds
of stuff and it drives me nuts I
(01:48):
had a good thought this morning and I
got about halfway through creating my Topic from
my show tonight and I got interrupted by
something So it's only halfway done, which means
it'll only take about half of the program
That's possible, but that's okay because there's a
(02:09):
lot of news that went on today and
I'm going to go through quite a bit
of it and But basically I got to
thinking about last night's You know me talking
about Especially on the Venezuela and but the
problem is I haven't had a lot of
(02:29):
chance to go through the news today because
I was you know, otherwise occupied and But
I got to thinking about the history Because
I had said some things last night I
said a couple of things like You know,
what business is it of ours to be?
(02:50):
Engaging and telling, you know regime change in
Venezuela taking care of things like that But
you know I haven't even looked at the
news how we could have blown them up
by now and I wouldn't know Because I
didn't have a chance to dig into it
today, but I still feel that same way
and I feel And I thought about doing
(03:10):
and I did a history But I didn't
go back to they get to go all
the way that I wanted.
So my topic tonight.
I wanted it to be about Bullying and
You know all through the 90s when my
kids were were young, you know bullying And
I remember growing up as a kid with
with glasses, you know, I had to wear
(03:32):
glasses I was blind as a bat and
you'd have one dumb kid out there call
you before us, you know You know all
that stuff and and I was so tiny
I was the smallest kid in the class
all the way up to like 10th 11th
grade.
I mean, you know, I was tiny just
puny little dude and you know, I got
(03:55):
a little growth spurt between 11th grade and
12th grade and went from 4 foot 10
to 5 foot 9 and that's where I
stayed today, you know Well, hell I might
have shrunk half-inch who the hell who
the hell knows and but I but nobody
recognized me when I come back Different different
kid, but I got I didn't get bullied
(04:16):
but you know not much but you'd have
Bullying did and does exist and it's more
of a private thing, but the bully is
this is the same when somebody stands up
to a bully a lot of times they
don't know how to take it in and
in and I Got to thinking about that
(04:38):
on a bigger Broader level Because in my
opinion The United States has been a bully
Full and along with Europe and all the
idiots over there We we have been Collectively
the United States has been a bully for
(04:59):
a long time we got to talking about
that a little bit last night because of
you know, what we're doing in Venezuela and
It's I'm completely against it, you know both
in high school or grade school or wherever
bullies live and I'm totally against it in
(05:20):
International affairs I just it's it's it's not
right, you know Yeah, well, you know rules
for me, you know, they don't they don't
you know I don't have to worry about
about those rules, you know, those rules don't
apply to me Because I'm a bully because
I can do whatever I want there ain't
a damn thing you can do to stop
about it or you won't Stop it remember
(05:41):
when I was talking last night about that
Trey or a the guy from Burkina Faso
and he you know the new the new
president.
Well, he's not that new He's been there
for a couple three years now, I think
but he they're changing and a lot of
people are changing and They're changing the way
they act and they're changing the way they
(06:02):
integrate I played for you the Jai Shankar
the first one you know that was you
know several months ago and it but it's
the same and You know the impression that
they give from them there It's it's the
exact same that I would give in in
high school.
Well, you know bullies Bullies don't end well
(06:26):
You know when somebody stands up to them
and you know famous last words But it's
but but the more I get to thinking
about it The more I start to think
that what the old Trumpster is doing in
Venezuela Really has to do with what he's
trying to accomplish in Russia.
He's trying to do something with the oil
(06:46):
down there This is nothing to do with
drugs.
It has nothing to do with drug cartels
It is it is nothing to do with
that that's what they're selling us But this
has nothing to do with that.
It has to do with oil.
It has to do with regime change so
that all of those assets can be re
(07:10):
oh I don't know reformatted Redirected to the
right people will put that right in quotes
like Mike Myers did when he was Austin
Powers, you know, just the right people.
They're not Austin Powers.
He was actually the Whatever his name was
(07:30):
the bad guy in those shows which was
also Mike Myers But it's it's it's the
right people that have to profit right and
and I can't imagine That we're there doing
anything else I mean the reason anybody wanted
Ukraine in the first place and Donald Trump
was pretty open about it the reason he
he wants it for the natural resources and
(07:53):
That's the whole reason for NATO expansion.
Anyway is so that we can control not
only Resources, but narratives we get a control
the dollar we get a control the International
Monetary Fund the banking we go in and
we blow up a country destroy that country
(08:14):
and then come in and rebuild it and
the people who Get the money to rebuild
Are not local They are American contractors and
the contractors all get money from the government
to go and rebuild And they all get
rich and use penny labor from you know,
(08:36):
wherever Bangladesh, you know to in these foreign
countries and they pay these people pennies and
they get fabulously wealthy and All on our
nickel it's our history It's been colonialism 101
that we learned from Britain Britain learned it
from France France learned from Spain I may
have those reversed a little bit, but I
(08:56):
think that's right and it's been going on,
you know Since the Romans, you know at
least in in longer than that where you
go in you take you know you that's
war is the economic enhancement of a country
and Bullying which you know might lead to
war is How we have acted for a
(09:19):
good number of years.
So what I did was I put together
a bunch of examples of These that go
back at least until and and I thought
I'd go back even further but I really
like I said initially I didn't have enough
time to get that done today and But
I wanted to go back at least until
oh The Biggest event that left us with
(09:44):
one person or one country rule was the
collapse of Soviet Union and I wanted to
make a comment on what that question was
from the girl who was interviewing Jai Shankar
last night and basically what she said which
is Highly offensive and it offended him too
(10:04):
But it offended it offends me and the
and the guy who asked him the first
question, too I mean, this is just offensive
the way bet the the behavior of these
people where they come in and go Well,
you're gonna have to pick at some point
between China in the United States Really who
said that why do I have to pick
(10:25):
between China in the United States why?
What what is it out there in the
world?
That says I India have to pick between
China and the United States for what I
can't deal with both of them.
I Mean is this and she believed it
(10:47):
she was sitting and you know, she was
she was rude to him at first You
know, he was asking a question.
So slapped him down.
Wait a minute.
I'm not done Gotta ask I gotta finish
my question.
Be quiet.
Be quiet peasant.
I'm from the West.
I'm a Western journalist I I'm interviewing you
you just be quiet and I will tell
you what what I want you to hear
(11:09):
and the the arrogance of the of the
thought process that says it's either the West
or it's China you must do one or
the other and I That's just completely foolish
and and his answer was well what what
(11:31):
makes it and he didn't use these words
But what makes them mutually exclusive?
Why can't I if I like to buy?
Grain, and I get it cheaper from the
United States.
Why can't I buy grain from the United
States and I don't know You know Manufactured
(11:52):
baseball bats from China.
What difference does it make you're gonna Punish
me by because I go into business with
somebody you don't like Just like a bully,
you know, you're not allowed to like that
person, you know, oh geez stay away from
him Stay away from her.
(12:13):
She's not on the cheerleading squad.
Oh and Don't don't talk to him You
know kind of like the Missouri bar, you
know you Missouri bar and Sam trap.
Oh stay away from him Better stand up
wind of him today.
He's not well, you know something like that
(12:36):
But it's it's when it's on the global
level.
Doesn't it just sound foolish?
I mean, I remember and I talked about
this when I was located in Lithuania and
those the several times I was I Don't
(12:57):
know what treated poorly by by Yandex drivers
the same as uber but they Treated me
poorly because I spoke Russian or they refused
to speak Russian back You know, I feel
it's it's it's just so foolish and and
(13:19):
so it's foolish for Bullies on the world
stage, but we've been bullies for a long
time and I wanted to give some examples
of those and so let's let's go back
to I've several examples and But we're gonna
(13:40):
start with some some of the biggies that
are going on now I can't decide if
I'm gonna do it I'm gonna do it
in the way that it comes out on
the on the print that I have here
Instead of By I Wanted to do it
in in order by timeline, you know Oldest
(14:01):
dates forward, but I haven't had time to
do all of that stuff So so let's
get it a chat about it And first
I wanted to go into some of the
obvious ones that are that are kind of
going on right now and the bullying That
has taken place right now on the world
stage and it's Toned down a little bit
by the by the world because India is
(14:24):
not having it You know, they didn't and
so India is a good one.
Russia isn't having it China isn't having it,
but they they what they're they're trying right
and So I want to give some examples
of companies or I'm sorry countries resisting u
.s. Pressure or asserting their own autonomy Saying
(14:48):
you know, hey, we do want to play
with you I mean Russia's been trying to
play on the same field with us trying
to join NATO forever.
Russia's been trying to You know not be
the bad guy for a long time And
the u.s. Won't have it the West
won't have it, you know Did they been
talking about it for a while?
(15:09):
so the ultimate case in the most obvious,
of course is the Ukraine war and Russia
has openly defied the West defied Biden defied
everything that they've been doing since 2014 You
know and the US and the EU defied
(15:29):
sanctions They push their own narrative in the
international field talking about multipolarity and the more
you push back against a bully the more
People listen to you and say, you know,
maybe we should listen to this guy these
guys have been being bullied for a while
(15:51):
and it's kind of funny for us to
say that Russia's being bullied because remember when
the Soviet Union was around we were Considered
relatively Equal right the the Eastern Bloc and
the Western Bloc Nobody wants to push any
(16:11):
buttons because those buttons ultimately lead to a
nuclear standoff Nobody wants that because it's not
good for the parties it's not good for
the world and that's true friends and neighbors,
it just isn't and so then after the
collapse of the Soviet Union We decided they
(16:33):
weren't worth any effort at all But still
treated them like the biggest baddest enemy on
the planet and Took advantage of what we
could robbed what we could sent over businesses
like we could but didn't treat them remotely
as as Equals and We don't do that
(16:58):
with anyone.
It's always condescending Nonsense, I really need to
find that Anthony Blinken and Jaishankar one because
that one was funny when they were talking
in Jaishankar Basically blew him off and Blinken
was dead embarrassed on the stage Let's see
(17:18):
if I can find it real quick because
that one was hilarious Blinken and Jaishankar Jaishankar
Because that I'm telling you that was what
did he put in there to say on
the on the g20 You think they got
(17:40):
savage oh, yep here it is it's six
minutes and this this one was in Was
one year ago, I believe a little bit
more than a year and he he gave
he was Grilled about Multipolarity and Russia's ties
and he beat up on blinking and this
(18:00):
and and sorry to go back to Jaishankar
again But he's such a good example of
people just standing up for themselves, and I
can't imagine that a country ten times our
size Is bigger than that I don't know
I'd have to figure it out might be
might be 15 to 20 times our size
(18:21):
that That they have to justify a position
with us It's it's unbelievable and so let's
let's see what it is just because I
liked it back then I want to play
it For you now, and I'm 90%
sure this is the right cut since it's
(18:43):
been seen How many times this thing has
like 40,000 views and 4,000 comments
and you know, that's Of course, they got
8 million subscribers, too.
But let's see here.
Let's get to This because this is standing
(19:05):
up to a bully you want to stand
up to a bully 101 lesson listen to
this Your question.
Do we have multiple options answers?
Yes Is that a problem why should it
be a problem if I'm smart enough to
have multiple Options, you should be admiring me,
you know, you shouldn't be criticizing now Is
(19:28):
is that a problem for other people?
So he's on the stage with Germany And
Darn it You know what?
I'm thinking is that this is not the
right one that it had because they only
(19:50):
gave that one response that's freaking irritating and
I want to Have the right one.
I'll give it a little bit more of
a play, but you heard the short blurb,
but the the I Believe she's the foreign
minister of Germany that's on the stage about
(20:11):
him, too.
Yeah, she's Annalena Verbach she's not too bright
either and they had this panel discussion and
It was one of the best that I
had seen and it looks like this is
it but damn it Let's see, let's make
sure we're in the right spot and maybe
it'll start to pick up let's check it
(20:33):
out So There's somebody else there it is
choice Multiple-choice Mindset is would that be
would that be right?
From non-alignment to I think you may
(20:54):
have called it or somebody else called it
all alignment so you can pick and choose
Alliances, but you can also pick and choose
topics on Russia.
For example, you still buy Russian oil Is
that okay with your Counterpart from the u
.s. Everything is your your relationship is fine.
(21:17):
You can do whatever you want whenever you
want Okay, first of all You're sitting next
to each other first of all Delighted to
be here and I couldn't find a better
set of people to be with on the
stage So thank you for whoever put us
all together This is your question do we
(21:40):
have multiple options answers?
Yes Is that a problem why should it
be a problem if I'm smart enough to
have multiple options you should be admiring me
You know, you shouldn't be criticizing Now Is
is that a problem for other people?
I don't think so I don't think so
certainly in this case and in that case
(22:01):
because look we try to explain what are
the different pools and pressures which countries have
and It's very hard to have a unidimensional
Relationship now again different countries and different relationships
have different histories If I were to look
(22:23):
say between the u.s. And Germany it
is rooted, you know, there's a alliance Nature
to it.
There's a certain History on which that relationship
is grounded in our case.
It's very different.
So I don't want you to even inadvertently
(22:43):
Give the impression that we are purely and
you know Unsentimentally transactional we are not You
know, we get along with people we believe
in things we share things.
We agree on some things, but You know,
there are times when you know, when you're
located in different places have different levels of
(23:03):
development different Experiences all of that gets into
it.
So life is complicated life is differentiated And
I think it's very important today not to
reduce the entire complexity of our world Into
very sweeping propositions.
I think that era is today behind us
(23:26):
So I agree very much with what Tony
said, which is good partners provide choices Smart
partners take some of those choices But sometimes
there will be choices on which you say
well, you know, I think I'll pass up
on that one It's a very good point
(23:47):
which brings me to the bricks and the
rise of metal powers because that is one
of Of the shifts that we see today
do you had to see Blinken's face during
this?
He's he's just I don't say shocked.
He's like disgusted it's like He's not just
(24:08):
gonna bend over for me nope, to what
extent you think that that is a challenge
to the West or Maybe that can be
sort of the bridge, especially in a world
where we will see continued competition between the
US and China and I'm gonna ask ministers
(24:29):
But I'd love for both of you to
come.
Yeah, I thought maybe the bricks one you
wanted the u.s. After you Jack, please
I Again, I think it's important to go
back to how it began The brick started
in an era where Western dominance was very
strong the premier gathering of the world was
(24:53):
the g7 and You had a number of
significant powers in the world Who felt that?
Well, they were not part of the g7,
but maybe they also Brought value to the
table by sitting and discussing with others So
in a sense you had a collection of
(25:17):
these countries.
It was originally for South Africa joined later
and If you know if you look at
it, it's a very interesting group because it's
Geographically as disparate as it can be Yet
it is bound by the fact that These
(25:39):
discussions we've had over a decade and a
half have been very useful for all of
us Now like any product you test it
in the market at some point We tested
it last year and asked people So how
many of you want to join bricks and
we got almost 30 countries who were willing
to join bricks?
So clearly if 30 countries saw value in
(25:59):
it, there must be something good we've done
So I I think it's important today to
make a distinction being between being non West
and anti-west I Would certainly characterize India
as a country Which is non West but
(26:21):
which has an extremely strong relationship with Western
countries getting better by the day Not everybody
else necessarily in that grouping might qualify for
that description but the the Contribution the bricks
is made, you know, if one looks at
the g7 and how it evolved into the
g20 I Think in a way those additional
(26:45):
13 members who came into his bigger grouping
Five of them are bricks members the fact
that there was another group which was meeting
regularly and discussing and debating I think certainly
was a Input into the expansion of the
g70 g7 into the g20.
So I think we did a service to
the world Now I heard the Blinken response
(27:09):
and he was pretty negative on that when
he when he finally responded But that is
standing up You know the the point of
this Diplomatics this press conference session with with
Annalena verba with Anthony Blinken and Jai Shankar
from India was for Germany and the United
(27:31):
States to tag-team him and get him
to Somehow show See the displeasure of the
United States and the West that they're still
cooperating with Russia and it's You know, you
(27:52):
should some of the commentary that they give
on this about about it What a brilliant
diplomatic reply if I'm smart enough to have
multiple off options.
You should be admiring me This is a
one critical shot at u.s. Hegemony and
the expression of India's strategic autonomy and it's
(28:15):
he He explains his point of view in
a friendly logical civilized way many countries could
learn from that and it seemed that Anthony
Blinken may have was another comment and He
Modi has definitely placed a gem in the
seat of the foreign ministry He's eloquent outshines
(28:40):
all of them with intelligence diplomacy and thoughtful
response India here's another one in Krishna 8917
says India is lucky to have Jai Shankar
as the external affairs minister full marks to
Modi for giving the ministry a Professional to
a professional and allowing him to take Decisions
(29:04):
that benefit India.
It's I mean the way he looks They're
talking about blinking the way Blinken's looking at
Jai Shankar Shows, you know what what he's
thinking, you know, that's that's written there So,
(29:25):
I mean there's there's plenty on that and
so I encourage everyone to go and listen
to what India is doing India and China
are Coming into their own let's say and
so it's it's it's wrong to think That
they're third world countries And if you think
(29:48):
that way you probably need to change your
way of thinking because that's not right So,
you know India itself is a goldmine for
some of the anti-bullying that I that
I get to talk about Russia, you know,
we have Ukraine Russia frequently accuses the United
States of economic coercion now, so does China
(30:11):
so does Indian as do many others and
They Say they weaponize sanctions weaponize IMF
Weaponize the dollar and we do there's there's
no denying it.
We do and we have and That's that
(30:34):
So they do they leave there but they're
speaking the truth and so, you know There
was interesting in there that bricks was part
of that because of what Jai Shankar said
Let me see here if I can figure
this out.
Hold on Hello caller How may I help
you can you hear me Yes, I do
(30:55):
Sam.
Did you did you know the music that
led into my call?
Dire Straits the Sultans of Swing.
I love that song good stuff.
Oh It's good stuff So here's my I'm
calling in for this question.
Do you think that?
Sending tomahawks into Deep in side of Russia
(31:22):
What what?
What's what's up with that?
Did that get approved today?
I meant to see that question, but I
didn't see that it was actually approved What
a lot what I saw yesterday was the
old Trumpster didn't didn't Say anything solid on
it.
He said I may have approved but you
(31:43):
know, I'm not really sure Ben I really
have been very busy today and I didn't
get a chance to follow up on that
before the show Sorry about that.
But the last I heard was that He
was going to make sure What they were
being used for and where but that he
would you know, he wasn't gonna give him
to Ukraine He was gonna give him to
(32:03):
NATO and NATO might give him to Ukraine,
which somehow makes it Okay, which it really
doesn't because only the US can target them
anyway NATO is a dysfunctional Situation.
No, no, no doubt.
Yeah.
Yeah and and the United Nations and the
world economic just you must have been listening
(32:27):
to my show for the last period of
history because I Love your show Sam and
here's the reason why it's because we are
we have congruent thoughts You know, we we're
we're we're kindred spirits and whatever that means
whether it's good bad or indifferent But we
at least think along a similar You know
(32:49):
similar Trajectory What a great word I just
made that word up well I Heard you
didn't make it up.
That's a that's a yeah.
So anyway, so Sam man.
Oh, man Oh, man, I'll shove it's there's
(33:11):
so much going on in this world right
now and and we just have I think
now more than ever we have to find
ourselves in a place of discernment, you know,
just a place of thinking is thinking is
for those who can And I think and
I think it's very good when we force
(33:33):
people, but I'm sorry to interrupt you But
I wanted to ask you before I forgot
because I'm old and I forget things like
right away I wanted to ask you what
your thoughts are if Let's say that the
old trumpster made the decision to give tomahawks
to Russia And the only reason he would
by the way is so that there would
(33:53):
be u.s Targeting on those missiles, but
he can always say well We didn't push
the button somebody else push the button and
the reason they get sent there is only
to destroy Russian sources of economic power which
are oil fields gas fields gas processing oil
(34:14):
processing and Blow those up and so that
that is that is the goal if this
is being done the only reason anybody would
consider storm shadows Taurus's whatever the one is
that the French have and in these Tomahawks
are to do that the only way they
(34:36):
can't bring Russia to their knees with sanctions
the way that they've been saying for For
well, she's longer than that 11 years.
And so we have to blow something up
and and and Unfortunately, I'm one of those
who believes that the old trumpster has the
wrong advisors and he's getting closer and closer
(34:56):
and closer to approving this sort of lunacy
Okay, that is a very valid perspective I'm
not gonna argue with that that much.
However, I have to say this more than
anything else I think this is a spiritual
battle and you know I think the Russians
(35:19):
You know that just the common everyday Russians
common everyday Americans and the common everyday, you
know, whatever the Chinese I Gotta
(35:44):
stop you.
There's something going on with your phone say
something new But if it continues, I'll ask
you to hang up and call back in
but say something new and see if it's
gone away Well the new thing that there
you go that well, no, no I just
wanted to make sure the warbling was gone.
You sound like mrs.
Othmar on Charlie Brown my pop my pop
(36:05):
my pop and so But you fixed it.
Whatever you did.
It's fixed well, I think whatever it was
was something outside of my scope of Endeavor
could have been here.
Who knows?
It could have been aliens could be aliens
It could be brother.
They're coming.
(36:25):
They're definitely coming Have you heard of project
blue beam No You should you should consider
thinking about googling or whatever you do, you
know researching wikipedia Project blue beam there there
there there are nefarious things on this World
(36:51):
right now that are trying to confuse us.
They're trying to mind at us.
They're trying to Confuse us and and it's
been happening for decades, bro for decades.
And so Here here's my bottom line.
This is the reason I call into your
show and JR show and I show you
(37:13):
guys are Imbued you you have a certain
Understanding of what's going on in the world
and and I feel like we share a
symbiotic Perspective just a just a common point
of view Whether it's right or wrong or
(37:35):
indifferent we share something and and we get
to do that with you know our freedom
of speech our freedom of you know, thought
more than anything and I just feel so
Fortunate Sam so fortunate to be a part
(37:55):
of something Bigger than just You know the
propaganda outlets you you are people of free
speech and free thought and that's all I've
ever been forever and ever and ever and
all the all the radio shows that I've
listened to and You guys are bringing it
(38:16):
all to a giant precipice, you know What's
the guy art Bell that that?
We all listen to yeah And and then
and then there's a guy named Chuck Carter.
I don't know if you remember him, but
I do and then and then Even the
(38:37):
recent ones like The guy that took over
for our belt George Nori, you know, he's
tried hard and then the guy that just
died recently.
I Don't know You I Wish I could
just bring it to the forefront, but there's
so many people and they've been on talk
radio Talk radio you that this this Platform
(39:02):
is beyond Belief bro.
You guys are are just laying the groundwork
for the future of Information Well, I'm glad
you like it.
This is this is and if I didn't
enjoy doing it, I wouldn't but I enjoyed
(39:22):
it You wouldn't do it.
You wish there's so many things you've been
everywhere Sam You've been a lot of places
and I mean just only from listening to
you from your shows and whatnot and your
brothers, you know Whatever his name is Thomas
or Matthew But you guys are so committed
to just just sharing information and that is
(39:45):
truly Where we are in this world it
this war is about information.
It's not about bullets It's not about bombs.
It's not about baby killing.
It's not about you know, it the the
true There's definitely some loonies out there, you
(40:05):
know on a lot of these things Would
you just got to speak the truth?
we have to speak we have to share
the truth repeatedly and that's what you guys
are doing and I'm just just so honored
and proud and and I feel so good
about being in touch with people that have
a particular point of view and and so
(40:29):
Yeah, I just you very very much Yeah,
just I encourage you to continue to do
what you're doing because you're doing God's work
What you're doing is you're providing information for
people who's gotta wear this.
Is this gonna help me later?
No, bro, you hear that you want to
hear a joke you ready for my favorite
joke of all time Tell me well, I
(40:51):
actually have two favorite jokes One's my dad's
favorite joke, which is really kind of lame
and the second one is a lawyer too.
Well, it's a judge joke actually, so Mm
-hmm.
Let's get all prepared Sam's getting ready for
a joke and to be humorous ready So
lawyer dies Goes up to heaven there.
(41:12):
He is getting ready to go into the
pearly gates.
He walks up pearly gates.
There's st.
Peter standing there and st.
Peter's looking at him.
He says Let me check my book here
checks his book he says I'm really sorry
sir, but you're you're not on the list
He says what course I'm on the list
have a look again, I'm obviously I'm on
(41:34):
the list and he looks at it again
he goes Sir, I've looked at the list
and you're just not on it.
He goes man.
I've only cheated on my wife and he
holds up She said you know, what did
not too many times and I didn't screw
my clients over but it was not all
the time You know, but I'm a good
guy.
Surely surely you can look and I think
there's some mistake has been made Have a
(41:57):
look again And he takes a look again
and he goes well, sir.
I'm really sorry, but you're you're just not
on the list There's not much we can
do he goes.
Well sure the lawyer says well surely there
has to be some kind of an appeal
process This is something is wrong here.
I've got to be able to appeal.
There's got to be rules and he says
(42:18):
well Yeah, we have rules.
Here's the book of the rules.
Here's here's a form you fill out this
form you know six seven pages you fill
it out you tell us, you know your
your thought process on this and You just
complete it and bring it back to me.
He says and then he goes well what
happens then he goes well, then you know
(42:38):
you you put it here in the in
the box and then when your turn comes
up, you'll go before a judge and the
judge will Meet you and go through your
case and you can put on evidence, you
know, very similar To what you were doing
down there and he goes, okay Well, how
long does this process take he says all
(43:01):
the last ones?
To have been taken about 17 18 years
apiece and the lawyer goes 17 18 years.
Are you kidding me?
Why in?
St. Peter looks at him and he says
well, sir, there just aren't a lot of
judges up here Nothing.
(43:23):
I got nothing for that.
You didn't even Chuckle And that's where you
leave it.
That's where you leave it there.
We Got nothing but you hated my joke.
Oh, that's terrible Judge not lest we we
judge brother and listen, you know, so here's
(43:43):
the funniest thing.
I did you even listen to my joke?
I Listen to your joke.
I think I got your joke.
You didn't get it There aren't a lot
of judges up here Meaning the judges are
all in hell.
Yes And so
(44:09):
Sam, here's the thing Here's the thing.
I think I enjoy most about your show
is you are not a Devout you know
Believer in Christ or Jesus or whatever?
you're just a you're a guy just a
regular guy that's searching for truth and and
(44:31):
I that isn't so important and we are
all in search of truths brother and and
you are just honest and open about your
Search, you know your quest and that's what
I admire most about your show more than
anything Thank you very much Yeah, I don't
(44:52):
I don't you don't have all the answers,
you know, you're in search.
I told you that I know everything You
want another joke?
Here's another joke between me between me and
JR Hartenstein We know everything.
Okay, we know absolutely everything between the two
of us We know every question known to
(45:13):
man ask me any question and I'll prove
it All right, so hold on for one
second while I reply to that I know
I know I don't think I don't wish
I don't Hope I don't you know, I
don't I don't pray.
I know I know what I know brother
and that's why I continue to tune in
to you and JR and I can and
(45:35):
Gabby and the girls on the I know
But now to prove my point you have
to ask me any question any question Ask
me me between me and you between me
and JR. We know the answer.
So you give me a question ready?
Is Jesus our Savior?
Jr. Knows that one What about you, bro?
(45:58):
You got you didn't get another joke.
Oh my gosh.
My jokes are just falling completely flat I'm
gonna give you a third one.
Okay, and pay attention here because it's getting
difficult now I have to give you a
third joke.
This is my father's favorite joke ready, and
he passed away in oh seven So he
doesn't get to tell it anymore.
So I'm gonna pass on this joke to
(46:19):
you ready?
guy standing on top of a tall building
very very tall building and He's looking over
the side and then he slips and he
falls down.
He falls all the way down to the
ground He and he gets up Looks around
he's brushing himself off another guy comes running
up and he says Then the guy running
(46:39):
up says what happened here?
What happened here?
And the guy looks at him.
He says, I don't know.
I just arrived So you'll laugh at that
one, I don't know I just got here
you laugh at that one You missed the
judge joke and then the between me and
JR We know everything and as you asked
me what's the capital of Zimbabwe and I
(47:00):
say, I don't know JR knows that one
There's nothing I did.
It's not even funny.
So but you laugh at my dad's joke
So that just proves that my father was
the humorist of them all and that I
just have no stand-up ability Of course,
I'm sitting down right now.
Maybe if I stood up it would have
been different.
Well, so here's here's my dad It's not
(47:21):
a joke.
It's just in response to that.
I went to church at the at the
invitation of a fellow That's on your radio
show just random Random invitation went to church.
It was July 21st 2004 he invited a
guy and So the preacher preached his name's
(47:45):
10 day 10 day just a nice Preacher
a leather-lunged preacher and he convinced me
to to I don't know if this I
don't think was him It's just the whole
thing that day he we we went back
into his back behind the pulpit thing and
I Just gave myself to Jesus that day
(48:08):
and that was the same day that my
dad Died and my dad was not a
religious man and Mike to this day I
pray for my dad's soul because I don't
know that you know, he ever asked or
begged or you know pleaded or or Wished
(48:28):
For salvation.
I don't I don't know Brother, I know
about my dad.
My dad was the best dude on the
planet and so mine, too You know, they're
mine too.
No problem for Jesus, you know forgiveness and
remember I grew up Mormon and so I
(48:48):
was quite religious in my youth and I
believe I've told you that I Have my
own beliefs.
I have my own structure and I just
don't believe I need a building to to
Believe those things and I don't need I
(49:09):
get a little I To me it was
always a little bit strange to see people
do one thing on a Sunday and Quite
something else during the week and I may
be a bad person, but at least I'm
consistently bad I'm not a good day on
(49:30):
one day and bad all the rest.
It's you know, maybe I'm Arguably, maybe I'm
good all the time, you know, but I
don't intentionally go out and screw people if
I can avoid it You know, I don't
do it I'm living that weather.
I am literally living the life that you
just described.
I you know, I May have actually said
(49:51):
that to you before if I did I
apologize, but it's yeah, you're right But I
don't you know, I truly don't I'm not
one of those people that you know, I'm
not a missionary I'm not gonna go here
and there and knock on doors and do
all of that Have you heard about the
Mormon Mafia?
(50:12):
You asked me that the last time we
were talking.
I think there's 35 35% of the
FBI and CIA and whatnot this that and
the other they they are Committed to the
Mormon, you know, whatever you want to call
it religion or it's a religion.
Yeah, it's not a mafia It's a religion.
(50:34):
Well, I don't know why that is.
Do you know why that is?
No, I don't know lesson When I was
in the army when I was and this
is after I did my active duty after
active duty I was in law school in
well, I lived in Dallas, Texas, and I
went to Texas Wesleyan University School on Fort
(50:58):
Worth and while I was I was still
in the Army Reserve and as a linguist
Yeah, I mean, you know you do your
One weekend a month and then your two
weeks during the year Well, guess where you
went for your two-week training on a
pretty regular basis if you were an interpreter
(51:20):
or a linguist with the military the military
has a School called the Defense Language Institute
in in California.
That's where you do your real training.
They have Diplomatic level in several places They
have a NATO School of Russian where I
went in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany several times to
(51:42):
learn specifics, but one of the best language
schools on the planet is a place called
The Mission Training Center and it is it's
called MTC and it is for Mormon Missionaries
before they go out on their door-knocking
(52:02):
adventures all over the world They go to
the Mission Training Center and as part of
that Mission Training Center they have a language
school because you don't get a pick, you
know, you just you'll be 18-19 year
old kid and you say you want to
go on a mission and they go All
right, you're going to I had a brother
(52:22):
go to Thailand.
I had one go to Norway one to
Germany, you know brothers went went around and
and had went on these missions and Learned
foreign languages and when they did they went
to this Mission Training Center first and this
language stuff and when I was in the
military the military rents for these two-week
(52:43):
periods during the your summer training they send
you to The if you want to go
to a good language school don't go to
Brigham Young University Mission Training Center is right
nearby Everything's down in the same area.
This language school is one of the best
on the planet and they learn foreign language
(53:04):
and they send you there and it is
a Fast course because your missions only what
two years and they give you like a
month in this school to learn the language
and then they ship you off to wherever
you're gonna go and so you learn the
language and then What better proving ground than
wandering around knocking on doors in a foreign
(53:25):
country where you only partially speak the language
and Telling people about your religion It's a
it's it's quite the concept and so that
and when you get out of the army
And you speak the language.
I almost joined the FBI.
I Came, you know almost ended up in
(53:46):
New York in Brighton Beach one of the
Russian areas you know of a very large
Russian population there and they were recruiting heavily
for for Russian speakers to come there, but
another source that they get tons of people
from is The Mormon because get this you
(54:07):
don't even have to go to college You
go to this MTC this mission training center
before you go to college Basically, and they
teach you a foreign language They send you
there and you're extremely good at it because
you've lived in a country for two years
And so when you come back, you're basically
fluent in another language, but you speak English
well, because you grew up in America 99
times out of a hundred and So that
(54:31):
is why the FBN plus your Mormon, you
know when you're a young Mormon You haven't
done anything it you know wrong You haven't
gone ahead when I had got my top
-secret clearance and I was a young man
And and I had gone in to get
my you know, they interview you forever and
go, you know So when's the last time
you had a drink I said I don't
drink what No, I've never had a drink.
(54:54):
They said well, what about what about Smoking
when's the last time you some isn't I
never smoked and Later on do the go.
So when's the last time you had a
marijuana cigarette?
It's like I couldn't even spell marijuana I
don't don't don't do that.
I never have in Guy go and then
later in the conversation.
They'll circle back and they go If we
(55:16):
talk to any of the friends of yours,
what would they say the last time was
that you used marijuana as they go well
My friends would know that I've never touched
it because they know I've never touched it
and they'd ask three or four times in
three different ways Anyway, if you're picking up
people that are gonna have top-secret clearances
(55:37):
and most of them have spotless Backgrounds completely
as young men and they haven't done anything
wrong, you know, they got they just they
pick them up that's why the FBI and
CIA and all these are full of Mormons
or former Mormons or former missionaries, whatever that
(55:59):
have done.
That's the truth So Sam, why why are
we so lucky?
You know just me and you know Jr
And I can the people that listen to
the why are we so lucky to have
a guy like you that knows?
So much, how did that happen?
Why are you here?
What is what is going on because they're
(56:20):
the reason I'm here is because I'm really
dumber than a box of rocks Because yeah,
it's got to be because and and I
and and and I'm a what do you
want to call it?
You Know what it was when I was
a kid it was always oh Jesus.
Do you ever take anything seriously?
It's like no It's and that's not true,
(56:46):
but it but it but it is true
in a lot of respects It's like, you
know, I have other people say to me
when is something a big deal to you?
To you when you were on KRMS on
Saturdays.
Yeah, you I don't know Sam trap legal
show.
Yeah.
(57:06):
Yeah, there was a lot of fun That
was where I that's where I ran into
Jr. It was fun.
Is that what it was?
Yeah Well, so so during that time it
was I don't know 2010 or 2012 or
something like that.
I was going through a lot of tumultuous
shit bro tons of Some tumult, I mean
(57:29):
it was life-changing and and I listened
to you and and and Listen closely to
what you had to say and then there
was a show on either slightly before slightly
after you talking about Talking about You Toxic
(57:53):
relationships that it wasn't you but but you
were the you were the the Middle person,
you know You were the guy in between
either that show or the other show and
and then that's when I knew that's when
I learned That's when I saw that's when
my eyes were opened to what was going
on in my life at that time and
(58:15):
that's when I Decided that I cannot continue
to be involved in toxic relationships and and
it was just like it was life-changing
rather Life-changing and I'm not saying you
did it, but I'm saying that your show
Got me between this that and the other
(58:35):
and so you You are doing something that
is so powerful right now, and I'm just
so I I'm encouraged Well, I'm glad you
are but once again, you've thrown me off
my topic What were you gonna say about
bullies when you called in and you asked
(58:57):
me about you've talked to me about Tomahawks
and you talked to me about so do
you my thought process today was all about
how the u.s. Or but we have
been since at least the Soviet Union collapse.
We've been nothing but bullies Everywhere on the
world stage and it's continuing.
So when you called in and you asked
about Tomahawks, which I'm definitely against and I
(59:20):
think the only way to end that war
quickly is Defund say no.
Thank you.
We're out and it's over.
It'll be over quickly Yeah, no bully.
Yeah.
No, I totally agree.
So yeah back to the premise of my
call We have got to stop being the
bully We've got to stop being you know,
(59:40):
and when I say we I mean the
United States.
Yeah, it's not me and you we're not
It's our it's our idiot leaders, you know
We need to step away from Being confrontational
and and bullying and telling people what they
will do.
Nobody wants to hear it No, but do
you want to be told what to do?
(01:00:01):
Do you I don't and I don't allow
it in my life I don't like it.
I don't I'm not a suck-up.
I'm not a kiss-ass I'm not one
of those people and and you know what
nobody likes a kiss-ass or a suck
-up.
Nobody likes it, but in the u.s
foreign policy sphere It's what we demand and
(01:00:22):
if you don't listen to us Jesus We're
gonna blow up a bunch of boats in
the Caribbean and and say well cheese We
just blew up some drug runners, which may
or may not be drug runners But you
don't have to prove it because you blew
them up, you know, and and then say
well, we're gonna teach We're gonna teach that
Maduro a lesson and Maduro's gone.
(01:00:43):
Wait a minute.
It's my country.
Why don't I run them?
Why don't I arrest them if they were
because you're part of them?
Oh, so so you say and even if
I am so what?
Not your problem, I Don't know.
I digress a little bit, but it's but
that's bullying dad is bullying I think the
(01:01:04):
best thing we can do and and I'm
just gonna you know, I don't even care,
you know, what what what your philosophical or
you know religious background is what we have
to do I think as a group of
Decent people is is learn how to get
(01:01:25):
along, you know Not we got to learn
not to fight Which by the way is
what Russia India and China are saying one
of the strongest things when I went last
year last October when I was in Kazan
Russia at the BRICS conference the huge news
of the day and everybody wants to talk
(01:01:46):
about the conflict between China and India on
their border.
They've had a decades-long Dispute over a
border and in 2021 People work.
Well, it's been well, but the big the
latest one has only been 30 40 years
But in 2021 it erupted again and they
each killed a number of each other guys
(01:02:06):
1314 people dead and they they still are
serious tension and they wouldn't let Pakistan join
BRICS was the big news because Pakistan was
still in a dispute with India But in
order for that rule to take effect Russia
And the rest of the people in BRICS
said to India and China that somehow They
(01:02:29):
had to put aside that dispute of their
border and so on the sidelines of the
BRICS conference These people got together in Russia.
I'm sorry Not Russia China and India on
the sidelines of it and came to an
agreement Between Modi and Xi Jinping both of
whom were there and said We are going
(01:02:52):
to resolve this.
It's not done today, but we're gonna net
not let that dispute dictate what happens between
us economically because when when we as a
group can At least talk about the positive
things You don't have to focus on the
(01:03:12):
one negative and since that time there's been
no things they've made great progress I'm trying
to come to a permanent resolution of it
They haven't finished it yet, but they they
they go very strong into no conflict and
on BRICS Nobody can be in conflict with
us with anybody else, right?
And each one of them talks about the
fact that just be all of them just
(01:03:34):
because we have a dispute in This area
Doesn't mean we have to have a dispute
in this area just because you know I
don't know you don't like Russia being in
the Arctic doesn't mean you can't work with
them to buy Fertilizer from their port in
Sevastopol, you know what I mean?
(01:03:55):
And and so it's not You're our enemy
and and we say like here in America
China bad China bad everything that China does
is bad as a result, right or Russia
bad Russia bad Everything the Russia does is
bad as a result in India and many
other countries are saying screw that We don't
(01:04:18):
think that way and not everything you're doing
in America, by the way is a hundred
percent positive We like and China said our
India says it all the time We like
70-80% of what you're doing, but
about 20% of it.
We don't care for and we're not gonna
be dictated to so I don't know there's
(01:04:39):
and if we and And I mean we
change our thought process People don't have to
be our enemies and you don't have to
pick one side If you want to call
it one side or another because the world
is round.
There are no sides You know, are you
(01:04:59):
sure the world's round or is it my
brother was a flat-earther my oldest brother
who passed away he was he was a
flatter and he he was You never knew
whether he was being dead serious about it
or whatever, but he worked for like Perspective,
I mean Tell you what that guy was
(01:05:20):
so smart.
He skipped two grades finished college at age
20 You know, he was one of those
guys.
He was so valid Oh, baby, he he
he believed that he believed some strange things
Project blue beam.
I looked it up while you were asking
about it and I have not It's neither
(01:05:45):
here nor there Sam, here's the thing, you
know, here's the thing we have a spiritual
connection we are Spiritual beings having a human
experience.
There's no doubt in my mind.
There is no doubt about that this human
Existence that we're all sharing a part of
and having conversations like you and I are
doing that is just a very very It's
(01:06:08):
minutia.
It's trivial.
We are deeply spiritual beings having a very
finite human experience and that's why I enjoy
so much in Engaging with you and and
just and just listening Listening to your point
of view and JR's and Ike's and the
guests and everything and and then to have
(01:06:29):
this opportunity To call in and just share
thoughts, you know, just just bounce things off
of each other That is what is the
critical mass man?
We the conversation, you know The debate that
the just to come just just the back
-and-forth that is what makes us Beautiful
(01:06:53):
humans and so Brother, I know I've taken
a lot of your time and I look
forward to taking more of your time in
the future And I I just relish the
opportunity I have to bounce things off of
you Well, I appreciate it.
Thank you for your call Yeah, you have
a very good evening, I'll check in with
(01:07:15):
you later brother.
Have a good night.
Yeah you too and There he goes Well,
let's see here.
We're going to we were talking about Russia
India Let's talk about this.
We had almost finished with the Russia on
(01:07:36):
More recently the bullying Russia's leadership is parallel
parallels us trying to control it with bully
and They're aligning with China more to counter
the didn't so these are dual containment strategies,
right?
Russia condemns u.s. Military action around Venezuela
(01:07:57):
calls it overreach and interference and even in
the Western Hemisphere and You know, they say
it's overstepping to go blowing Crap up with
zero proof.
I happen to agree with that But I
had the idea first and I just saw
some Peskov Lavrov Was a hot of a
(01:08:21):
say some things but if we go let's
let's go back to India India is a
gold mine for this kind of the anti
-bullying stuff Because it is shifted since post
-cold war from strict non-alignment towards a
They're calling it Multi-alignment posture and it
makes it clear every time Don't lecture me.
(01:08:44):
Don't push me around or I Will join
someone else's orbit and not yours, but quit
lecturing me.
We have things in common We have things
we don't have in common think about the
trade in energy pressure about Russian oil They've
been yelling at India since 2022 But even
(01:09:04):
if they are doing what they call transhipment,
which is India buys it For a lower
price and then makes a little money off
it selling it to the US and to
Europe They're doing it And now the US
wants to go, you know They're threatening to
125 percent tariffs on Indian goods and less
(01:09:26):
India cuts back on Russian oil India responds
by rejecting pressure and saying, you know, what
we'll make our own strategic decisions and They
firmly rejected that back in August.
Remember that it's direct pushback Don't tell us
what we must do and Jaishankar always has
red lines, you know He's the external affairs
(01:09:49):
minister He repeatedly says in talks with the
that with the US The India has its
own bottom lines that have to be respected
for instance during US and India trade negotiations
He said repeatedly India will not abandon its
own core interests and then recently he said
(01:10:11):
something about Trump He said India This was
funny, he said India wants partners not preachers,
you know rejecting the tone from the u
.s That you know the you or that
New Delhi needs to be lectured to you
know They aren't putting up with it anymore
and neither is the rest of the world,
right?
(01:10:31):
He rejected or they India rejected the US
human rights and religious freedom stuff in 2024
India formally rejected a US State Department report
on Religious freedom and that called it deeply
biased and said it was trying to interfere
in their own internal affairs It's a diplomatic
(01:10:53):
rebuttal, but You know and they said, you
know quit telling us what to do.
Do you don't you're not our morality police,
you know and What are you doing?
Doing Doing a State Department report on who
cares about religious and I don't mean this
there are people that care about it But
(01:11:14):
why is the government paying?
US State Department for report on religious freedom
in India who gives a rip, you know
That's that's that's why or why do we
get to preach this and I'm not saying
who gives a rip Do I want religious
freedom everywhere because we have it here Of
course I do But that does that mean
I'm gonna have somebody pay a million bucks
(01:11:36):
to get a report from the State Department
That takes 20 guys and 10 in 20
weeks to freaking right and I made those
numbers up just so you know So somebody
didn't come back and go dreams.
He's making stuff up I did make that
up, but I'm saying it for a for
a point Whatever the amount of dollars is
if it's 10 bucks or 10 million, it's
(01:11:57):
a waste who down needs it What are
you gonna do use it to lecture India
and say cheers you really should be a
little more Have a little more freedom of
religion Once more we get to dictate what
other countries Will do in their own country
Every cut, you know member member you ever
(01:12:18):
watched those shows that about England When they
were on the colonial make the world England
remember that make the world Britain remember that
They would talk about in some of those
shows.
Well, are we any different, you know?
Oh, geez, our democracy is the greatest in
the world.
Is it?
(01:12:39):
Do I mean I?
appreciate our democracy in in theory in practice
Maybe not so much.
You know, you end up with idiots like
like well, let's not go there, but It's
manipulated no doubt but is it is is
this is it the system or is the
(01:13:00):
way the system has Corrupted itself over that
over the days But but my point is
who are we to lecture another country on
their you know?
Strategic neutrality you must be neutral and not
Or your strategic non neutrality.
You must be non neutral and join us
(01:13:22):
in the u.s India you got to
condemn Russia in India says when many Western
states want Oh, you know you guys want
sweeping condemnation of Russia We refuse We're not
going to align with you just because you
want something different.
We've not had those Historic problems with Russia
(01:13:44):
India and Russia have been partners it during
the Soviet Union times to um Do you
know a couple of weeks ago?
They had joint?
Military exercises they did them in Belarus to
remember that story I told you about that
several weeks ago when the u.s. And
the Russia were having You know the u
.s. Had NATO sides and India is like
why are you condemning us?
(01:14:06):
US which they were you know, they all
the news was reporting about how India had
67 soldiers there and so what they do
they showed on their own TV that there
was about 25 u.s. Soldiers that were
sent across the border from and the NATO
thing that went across and and met with
(01:14:27):
the opposing forces To me, I mean they
were called for review They invited him and
they went but the only people that got
condemned for it were India, right?
And so that's some more put is that
that bullying?
Let's go to China China pushing back in
its own way when I just said that
let's go to China.
(01:14:48):
I got to thinking I should go to
China Do you know why China no longer
requires Americans to have a visa?
Did you know that?
You can now just get in a plane
fly to China get admitted at the border
or at the airport You get admitted stamp
just like it is you're going to Mexico
good stuff mannered and in many other countries
(01:15:08):
allegedly Europe has changed the only I went
to like I told you I was in
last month in Belarus Lithuania and Turkey and
Istanbul and those don't have any you know,
I I needed a visa for Belarus But
it's the same one that I have for
Russia So Belarus and Russia share them if
you have one for Russia, you got one
(01:15:28):
for Belarus and I think vice versa, but
I'm not positive of that, but my Russia
my visa is a Russian visa and so
You still got to have a visa as
an American get into Russia and Belarus But
you don't need one to get into China
anymore.
How about that?
That's kind of cool, isn't it?
anyway China has always been pretty blunt on
(01:15:49):
u.s. Rhetoric and bullying and they don't
like Unilateral sanctions and they've ignored quite a
bit of them.
China frequently labels u.s. Sanctions is illegal
coercive Unilateral they accuse along with Russian India
and me accuse Washington of double standards Which
(01:16:11):
is my biggest problem if you got rules
there to apply to everybody right, but they
never do So when the u.s. Impose
sanctions on Chinese firms tied to Russia's Wagner
Group China reject rejected them as bullying said
we don't put up with bullying in Regular
press briefings Chinese officials call u.s. Actions
(01:16:34):
economic coercion that threatened global trade They strategically
of course aligned with Russia and they to
call it a counter containment narrative in 2025
Xi Jinping Xi Xi Jinping and Putin pledged
to counter Unilateralism and bullying that was in
the recent meetings at the Shanghai cooperation organization
(01:16:56):
China frames a cooperation with Russia as resisting
u.s. Encirclement and containment strategies China supports
Venezuela and has warned the u.s. Against
bullying behavior in the hemisphere They do not
endorse Western narrative on Ukraine While obviously China
(01:17:17):
doesn't support the invasion if they want to
call it that it's not an invasion but
in support what Russia is doing in Completely
it has resisted alignment with u.s. Positions
Beijing avoids endorsing sanctions and resists, you know
insists on no x escalation no Expansion don't
(01:17:41):
add fuel to the fire that push posture
itself is a buffer against u.s. Pressure
to isolate Russia Western legislation, how about economic
autonomy?
When u.s. Legislation or action attempts to
limit China's access to technology or markets China
(01:18:04):
regularly frames those acts as bullying that violate
free trade norms or sovereignty of states and
they're repeated you get these all the time
and China condemns the u.s. For imposing
what it considers Illegal sanctions blah blah, let's
go to Venezuela.
(01:18:24):
So this is in our hemisphere, right?
There Venezuela is getting support from both China
and Russia, so if you want to you
know, put push Venezuela into Whatever, you know,
maybe that reporter that was interviewing Jai Shankar
should come back and say you know, there's
(01:18:45):
only two sides to the world and One's
the u.s. And one's China, but China
and Russia are backing Venezuela Diplomatically, they're criticizing
u.s. Intervention and sanctions as bullying in
2019 u.s. Demanded I'm sorry, China demanded
that the u.s. Stop its suppressive behavior
(01:19:07):
toward Venezuela and It's that's been going on
forever.
We've been pushing them and trying to Get
some somebody favorable to the u.s. Instead
Russia routinely protests u.s. Actions in the
Caribbean as meddling in sovereignty of other nations
(01:19:27):
Venezuela under Maduro Has positioned itself as a
victim of u.s. Sanctions Because they trade
with Russia and China and so they get
sanctioned as well They frame u.s. Efforts
as economic warfare just like China and Russia
say and they appealed to the rest of
Latin America to Create some kind of a
(01:19:51):
global solidarity, right?
Basically what America is very good at is
creating this rhetoric both through our Our Politicians
if you want to call them that through
our State Department through all of our Government
(01:20:12):
employees they get big fat bait paychecks and
lots of benefits and do very little but
boy, they're paid well, right and We got
to make sure they're paid well because they
have a tough life, right?
But they're all very good at as our
our media Counterparts, you know their media counterparts
(01:20:35):
in the West rhetoric as a weapon you
get to Call people bad people.
They all have something like I've talked about
a few times before Russia invasion of Ukraine
They don't see it that way They say
(01:20:56):
they are were invited by two new Russian
Regions that wished to Be part of Russia
and that they had their referenda US can
have referenda wherever it wants if they wish
(01:21:16):
to say that a referenda occurred in Kosovo
or Czechoslovakia Or any of Serbia who cares
any place where the u.s. Says it
is You don't mean have anything except one
u.s. Person say oh, yeah sounds like
a good idea to me I'm sure their
referendum was totally legal But and if something
(01:21:38):
happens like that in any other location in
the u.s. Decides hey, that's not a
good idea Then it's no good and only
the u.s. Gets to say that so
double standards everywhere So our our politicians and
(01:22:01):
Media are extremely good at using rhetoric as
a weapon But a lot of the world
is turned to a don't lecture me sort
of thing Strategic autonomy countries are beginning to
emphasize like India.
They're learning from India They're learning from bricks.
We make our own choices.
It's a recurring motif over the last 15
(01:22:23):
16 years it that bricks has been around
well and before that too but it's becoming
more and more and the more you try
to force them to comply The more likely
they're going to say things like this and
more people Did you hear Jay Shankar when
I played that piece for you that said
there were another 27 37 people that wish
(01:22:44):
to join?
the bricks block when we were in Kazan
last year, there's still people applying and more
people joining so The bullying part isn't working
don't join that bricks boy We're gonna we're
gonna break that up so alternative alliances are
(01:23:05):
building everywhere Not just bricks, but several more
they're counting the u.s..
By aligning with each other or forming their
own Regional or local blocks China Russia Russia
Venezuela Etc to reduce u.s..
Leverage sovereignty and non-interference pushback often talked
(01:23:26):
about u.s..
Pressure violates my sovereignty I told you about
that with that guy from Burkina Faso And
what he was saying you're not stealing all
our gold anymore France or the u.s.
Or anybody else you guys have been robbing
us for years We don't like it.
We are sovereign quit meddling and dictating Morality
(01:23:49):
to us or imposing sanctions upon us.
We'll just use a different a different Organization,
how do you like them apples and so
that's that's what a lot of the world
is telling us these days right I mean,
let's let's go back into the 90s and
(01:24:09):
have a quick a quick review 1993 the
yin-Yi incident China vs.
Us us alleged Chinese ship yin-Yi was
carrying chemical weapons To Iran and blocked it
from ports and then impaired its GPS navigation
Leaving it stranded for 24 days before forcing
(01:24:31):
an inspection and China denied the allegations called
the u.s..
Overreach 1994 China began pushing for its own
GPS alternative Partly in reaction to episodes like
the yin-Yi where u.s. GPS signals
are manipulated, and they perceive technology control China
(01:24:52):
developed its own They do satellite navigation as
its sovereign response So the u.s..
Could have had just one GPS worldwide But
nope we got to control it so China
built one now many other people have built
their own GPS systems Russia's got their own
I believe India has their own too, but
(01:25:15):
I don't remember the name of it Asian
finance crisis IMF and u.s. Leverage from
1995 to 2000 many Asian states Thailand Indonesia
South Korea were forced to structural adjustment packages
Under the IMF which is run by the
u.s..
(01:25:35):
And all the West some governments like Indonesia
Another reason they're with bricks is because of
economic bullying They resisted the terms said that
Washington is overreaching systematic pushback this is this
is Lots of countries over there.
Here's what you're gonna do so the IMF
(01:25:56):
because they want to control the money and
And they want to control whether you get
any money from the IMF or the World
Bank People don't like it.
So where do they do they find alternatives,
and they're doing it more and more u
.s..
NATO bombing of Yugoslavia and Kosovo no Security
(01:26:16):
Council authorization u.s..
And NATO bomb Serbs Russia China India all
say this is the u.s..
Setting a dangerous precedent of humanitarian intervention as
a cover for power to steal to take
stuff and It's still that way Kosovo's a
(01:26:37):
mess and and we're still you know milking
it for what it can you know Contractors
gee wonder if there's any Western contractors still
there Two thousands u.s..
Invaded Afghanistan build a narrative global war on
terror, but several Countries don't want to be
(01:26:58):
in Pakistan also pushes to limit u.s..
Bases and influence Iran accused Washington of hypocrisy
and bullying Gee there's a surprise 2003 u
.s..
Invasion of Iraq.
This is a big one many countries France
Germany Russia China India Opposed or refused to
join u.s..
(01:27:18):
Tried to pressure its allies many were many
many of them at the time We're not
happy with this And they were but they
were told they must support the mission right
and most of them complied 2004 2006 Latin
America alternatives the u.s..
Dominant Dominance are being built over there Hugo
(01:27:40):
Chavez American Latin American leaders build other blocks
like Alba Unicef to counterbalance u.s..
Influence Reject u.s..
Dictation.
They want their free trade and debt rules.
They don't want to be told how they
will Take care of debt especially from us
What are the worst That we're gonna tell
(01:28:02):
people how their debt is Brazil South America
and Doha u.s..
Agricultural pressure the Brazil says you know They
Don't want to open their agricultural markets because
Washington is protectionist and has hypocrisy they don't
(01:28:23):
open there's not to everybody and in 2007
2008 Russia's energy politics and gas supply to
Europe way back then Russia was using gas
export control as leverage over Europe Is what
you know the u.s.? Was telling us
you know you can't you can't tell us
(01:28:44):
America wanted to get into business with it
all and send our own gas so anyway
I don't have much more time on the
show I really wanted to get into this
on the ride this morning Or you know
when when I was in my car, and
then I had some chance to do a
little bit of research on it but it's
I Think the time for bullying and telling
(01:29:06):
people what they will do around the world
is just wrong Diplomacy is the sharing of
ideas to share I mean, maybe somebody has
a better way than us, but we don't
look at it that way It's always we
dictate and we tell people what they're gonna
do well.
I gotta wrap it up This is Samuel
trap you have been listening to International flavor
