Welcome to a wonderful discussion with Denise Reed, a lighthouse of positivity, who believes in the power of realizing and chasing happiness. In this episode, Denise shares her journey through the acclaimed book, "52 Lists for Happiness" by Moorea Seal. She appreciates the purposeful power of these lists that give her an opportunity to tune into happiness.

Can happiness be tracked and achieved? Denise thinks so! She firmly believes that happiness is not something that magically happens to us. Rather, it's a state of mind characterized by positivity and well-being that we can take control of. Denise tactfully guides her listeners to grasp this idea, inspiring them to start their happiness journey from self-awareness to self-empowerment and finally, to self-inspiration.

The episode does not just stop at exploring this concept theoretically. Denise encourages her listeners to grab a pen and a piece of paper and begin their journey towards happiness by building the foremost list - What makes you happy right now? She candidly shares some matters that uplift her own spirits and nudges her listeners to differentiate their triggers of happiness.

Denise takes a step further by urging everyone to partake in a challenge: transform the elements of your happiness list into daily habits. By practicing these habits, you consciously invite happiness into your life, resulting in a refreshed and brighter outlook. Come and join Denise in this enlightening podcast episode, open your thoughts, let that smile spread, and remember, happiness is in your hands!

(00:00):
Okay, hey everybody! I'm Denise Reed, and I'm just out here trying to spread
a little happiness today.
I thought it would be fun if I did a whole series on the 52 Lists for Happiness by Moray Seal.

(00:25):
It's just a bunch of lists but
man they are so powerful my niece
actually bought me this great book
52 lists for
happiness and it's such a pretty book too i just have enjoyed filling out the

(00:47):
list And I go back and I add more to each list because I periodically go through
the book and read the writing prompts that are in there.
And I thought it would be fun because if you're like I am, you're desperately
seeking happiness and you're wondering where it comes from and how you get it and how you share it.

(01:10):
And really, it's all about your mindset and where you want to go and the fact
that you want to be happy.
And no one else can do that for you. Only you can determine your level of happiness
in life and create the environment that makes you happy. It can be done.

(01:36):
Just here to say that if you are chasing happiness,
you'll find it, you'll get it, you'll hold on to it, and you'll share it with
others, and they'll be so glad that you shared that gift with them that hopefully
they will become your friends.

(01:57):
And in this book, 52 Lists for Happiness, it covers a whole array of things that might inspire you.
I thought it was really funny when I read, I guess it's the foreword that she
put in her book, that she wrote it to her husband, Max.

(02:20):
And my dad's name was Max.
So, hey, Dad, just want to say.
Music.
That I feel like he's kind of guiding me through this book, the 52 lists.
And the very first list that you come to is the list of what makes you happy right now.

(02:46):
So get a pen and a piece of paper. So when you're finished watching this podcast,
you might make that list about what makes you happy right now.
Because if you stay focused on that, your life could get better.

(03:10):
You might change a few things in your life when you think about what would make you happy right now.
And on my list, I'll share with you a few things that would make me happy right now.
One of them is knowing that I make a positive difference for someone.

(03:31):
That makes me very happy. It's why...
I fell in love with my job here at the concierge office suites.
I love seeing my clients happy.
It brings me great joy.
It reassures me that I'm doing the right thing for them.

(03:51):
I try to lift them up, you know, when they're having a tough day because we
all experience a tough day periodically. periodically.
So know that making a positive difference for someone else brings me great joy.
Then the second thing on my list right now for happiness is realizing today

(04:13):
is a new day and I can change things.
I have the power to change things.
I'm not going to remain a victim of somebody else's bad mood or something that's frustrating me,
I can decide not to let that frustrating thing have power over my disposition

(04:37):
and where I want to be today.
Then the third thing that brings me great joy and happiness is to travel.
I am deliriously happy to to travel.
I love to see new places. I love understanding the history.
Some of my girlfriends, whenever I've traveled for business,

(05:03):
we always try to plan a fun day if we can add it on to a conference that we're
attending to go see something beautiful.
And that brings me great great joy.
And here's the little note at the end of this list. Take action.

(05:27):
How often do you actually get to experience these things that make you happy right now?
Just like learning to read, gaining the wisdom and experience of happiness just takes practice.
Let's start right now. I want to encourage everyone that's watching or listening

(05:47):
to my podcast that you start right now for pursuing the things that make you happy right now.
Now, take one item on your list and see how you can turn it into a daily happiness practice.
That's my challenge for today, that you find the one something or several things

(06:09):
that make you happy and you try to bring them into your life every day.
So your days get better and you walk around with a smile on your face and you,
like I have experienced from one of my clients,
has said, you're the kindest person that I've ever met.

(06:33):
So how about I give you the challenge to be the happiest person that your next acquaintance needs?
And I hope that I brought a smile to your face and you can think about what makes you happy.
Music.
