Music.
(00:34):
Of happiness or for happiness by Maureen Seals.
See, I like to be really high tech for all my peeps that are watching me live.
And I'm sorry, I'm just smart tell that way.
And you'll just have to get over it because, you know, I believe in having fun,
(00:56):
No matter how horrible life might be or whatever the circumstances are.
Music.
I'm definitely not a stick in the mud and I believe in having a good time.
So just saying, I want to help you create your 52 bliss for happiness.
And I hope that you'll take some time and maybe follow along in this almost weekly series.
(01:25):
I'm getting in my stride, people, getting in my stride, and hopefully you'll
be along for the ride, and I'll just keep getting better, and you'll just keep
being entertained, and in the meantime,
we'll just live life better.
And that's my whole goal for putting this podcast slash videocast together and
(01:52):
sharing my silliness with a few friends.
So today is list six.
Are you ready? We're going to go on into list six in the 52 lists of happiness.
Now get prepared. here, try not to be a Debbie Downer, but I feel like list
(02:14):
six is a bit of a Debbie Downer.
And I'm just going to try to help us work through it and not stay in that negative place.
So here it is list six.
I'm going to read it just as it shows in the journal.
List the things from your past past, and present that feel like blockades in the way of happiness.
(02:46):
Some of us have a whole lot more blockades than others, and the struggle is real,
and I recognize I have quite a few friends that are dealing with a whole bunch
of stuff in their personal and professional lives that are a tad difficult right now.
(03:07):
Music.
So I'm hoping that I can check some things up and help you stretch a little bit.
And I know this or these two items that I'm listing in my list six are things
that I feel that have helped me back.
(03:30):
Music.
(04:07):
More creative. And so anyway, I hope you'll stretch a little bit and explore.
Music.
All the free stuff that is not blocking you from your happiness.
All right, here's one of the things that are standing in my path of happiness.
(04:30):
And it's my huge amount of responsibility for For my own company,
the concierge office suites, my extended family members and health issues and
personal issues that they're trying to work through.
And my role of responsibility in that and recognizing that the world does not revolve around me.
(04:55):
I know that is a surprise to several people that the world does not revolve around them.
Oh, did you sense my sarcasm in that?
Music.
And those people probably aren't even watching my broadcast,
videocast, or even listening to my podcast.
(05:16):
So you can just smirk along with me.
So Maury Seal, the author of, if I turn it the right way, 52 Lists for Happiness,
says to take action on these things.
She says, look back at list five,
which we covered last week, and see if any of your past great decisions can
(05:42):
influence how you handle the things that currently stand in your way of happiness.
Music.
(06:18):
Ears. It's your decision to live differently.
And I have led several mastermind groups here locally in Chattanooga and shared
my life experience in social media and all that kind of stuff in the past.
(06:40):
And one of the things that I have perpetually asked myself is really.
Music.
How might we move forward?
How might we move forward?
That's a valid question.
And if you can answer that question, man alive, you can maybe take a bunch of little.
(07:08):
Music.
(07:58):
Quarter and really asking yourself, why are we?
Now, here's a great question. What if we, what if we pursued something differently?
What if we brought other people along for the ride?
Music.
(08:18):
What if and that's
not just a kid's question that can be a real grown-up question what if that
takes off all the roadblocks that stops all the negativity in my book because Because what if,
(08:40):
for me, brings me hope that what if I got up at a different time?
Music.
What if someone came along and helped?
What if we did it a different way? What if?
(09:00):
So, play the what if game if you're experiencing some negativity in your path
to happiness on list six.
Here's another idea. How can we? How can we do this differently?
Music.
How can we make things happen? How can we take the next step?
(09:23):
How could we invite someone to play along or participate in whatever we're trying.
Music.
To pursue that makes us happy?
Just think about that. How can we do something?
That gives me hope and helps me realize that the world is not a bad place.
(09:47):
And I keep reminding my 11-year-old granddaughter, it's not a bad day.
It's a great day and just a few bad things have happened in it.
So just remember, it's a great day and maybe just a few bad things have happened in it.
Music.
So change that up. How can we make it a better day? Review your previous questions.
(10:15):
How might we move forward? Why are we doing it this way? What if we did it a different way?
How can we do it a different way? And review what you've explored asking yourself those questions.
All right. How can we do it?
Music.
(10:57):
How amazing the situation might be if you looked at all the things that you
were perceiving keeping you from your happiness and asked, how might we move forward?
Why have we done it this way? What if we did it a different way?
(11:19):
How can we do it a different way and review why we did it a particular way?
And then ask, how can we make it better?
And with that, you're taking one step forward, one more step forward,
and another step forward.
And before you know it, you're out of the trenches and you're moving along.
(11:40):
Music.
It's a great thing. So I hope that I have brought at least a practical way to
realize that today is a great day.
And just a few bad things or sad things happened in it.
(12:02):
And you have the power to change because you can change how you're thinking about it.
And I recognize that not only in your personal life, but in your business life,
you're in control of what happens up here.
And don't let anybody else take up space and make you pay rent to them.
(12:25):
