(00:00):
What's up? It's your boy, Sick Request, and back with another self-analyzation, yeah!
And we always go with it as you know.
You know, good morning to y'all people out there. Hopefully you're having a
blessed day or having an amazing and blessed day.
Take care, you know, yourself, you, your family, loved ones, and anything you can do.

(00:25):
Uh today what can
i talk i mean the only thing really on my
mind is just just thinking about believing in
myself maybe you know more stronger than before and
you know just being naturally who you are to you and embracing that and finding
spaces where you know i'm saying you are you when You get to be at peace and

(00:52):
calm and things are not so chaotic.
So just to put that out there, you know, just another one. You feel that?
Yeah, because I think the real part is just knowing, you know,
who you are, the things you're into, and areas you might need to grow in,

(01:13):
and, you know, all these different things about yourself.
You know, really have a sense of self-knowledge and you could like navigate
through this world a little different, you know, and you actually feel bad about yourself.
I'm only saying that because now I'm able to venture into things that I always

(01:34):
thought about and venture into, but never did because I was just scared or fear
of failing at it or not being great.
But then the moment I started believing and then being natural with it,
like, all right, this is who I am, type of person.
So let me just cultivate it. You know what I'm saying? and me add all that pressure
create this diamond right here throw it in the air shine everybody else create

(01:59):
their own diamond throw that in the air shine rain like a diamond,
you feel me it don't stop there it's just like.
For me I must say you know I have ideas there are ways to grow on that and I
feel like it always and things always change and that's why it's always like

(02:19):
that too you always feel that way Like there's always ways to go then where I'm at,
even if where you at feels rewarding,
that you feel like you're earning.
But for me, I never want to get comfortable in those areas that I'm always on the go.
But yeah, pretty much that, you know, be true to you, natural to you.

(02:41):
As long as you're not harming nobody and nobody getting hurt in the situation,
you know, live your best life as you should. and, you know, be happy for what you got in the life.
You know, so many times I was looking outside of my situation and thinking other situations is better.
Then you learn, you know, probably not.

(03:04):
Maybe this situation is fitting for you. And then if you want to change it,
you're just going to have to apply yourself, you know, be willing to grow.
And I'm only saying that because it's like I'm kind of speaking to me.
Got a little self-note there, a little self-reflection on that one. Yeah.
And I'm not going to lie. The relief of fully accepting yourself,

(03:30):
who you are, from your strengths to your doubts, or what takes away from the
shameful part, and the rats you may hold,
because now you already know what to expect.
It's not unexpected. It's not disappointing. and i certainly
be shaped up something to know and
grow from you know like how life is

(03:53):
like you know when i learned to ride the bike it was
crazy the whole experience was basically i think i was like four i took off
the training wheels as soon as i hit the pedal started moving bike fell left
try again third time fell I just knew like something was off.

(04:15):
Didn't ride that bike for like two years started like six
get on up when I said like I'm about
to conquer this now so two years
time get on that bike it was like easy money you know just like yeah it took
me to fail that many times to really even get to this point where now it's not

(04:35):
even taking so much of a challenge with the willingness to say,
all right, do I got what it takes to fail?
Somebody else might fail folding off that bike and don't try at all.
You know, and I think that took a lot of heart strength. Even though I was young
as a kid, it was a simple thing.
You know, like, I see the life lesson in that.
And then also going back to being true to yourself and your true nature.

(05:02):
You know, coming up, I ain't fine. You know, I kept it out. I was just a cool person, hang around.
You know, the wind, play some sports, cool out. I was just all around.
You know what I'm saying?
That's how I was holding it down. I had to protect myself just in case.

(05:23):
But me being that, people respect it. You know what I'm saying?
Because there were so many different characters around doing different things
that if you fronted, you was checked off rip.
There was no, you couldn't front in that field.
You couldn't go outside on the corner in front like I'm a dealer now and think
nobody going to say nothing. Like, I'm just saying.

(05:44):
It was real. He wasn't going to talk reckless And think He wasn't going to get
pressed Y'all don't know what you think this is I ain't disrespect you I don't
know why you disrespect me,
What's about to happen here World War 4.
You know But in that it's

(06:07):
like people respected it Like if you was that school person Who just went to
school Just wanted jobs Wanted to get money your old MO do it the honest way
people was doing that the opposite way respect to that and then they like alright
me do what we do you making us look good we keep doing this,
make us look valuable please please make

(06:30):
us look great and amazing you are
stunning and shining we need you please and in return they like well if it's
like that we hold you down with me as long as you ain't doing nothing crazy
and wild and you ain't violating nothing to you about the underground underground, you know,

(06:51):
underground railroad,
you know.
What it means.
Nah, pretty much, you know, they look that way when they can.
They be like, yo, y'all be careful now.
You know, they little signals or something like that. Be careful now.
You know, you be like, I will. I will do so. That's me. That's me.

(07:16):
What I was saying is that gave like a community element and everybody like their
different type of corners and spaces of people and, you know, individuality.
Best example to put it.
If you play the game Bully, you see the different groups they got.

(07:37):
You got the jocks over there. You got the creases.
You got the nerds, the bullies.
The demons, like their own game.
Hey, get over here. you are not cutting class sir like whoa so.
They all got to be almost at one school. They like coexist.

(08:02):
And they kind of complement each other in a way, which is interesting.
That's what I was saying.
So that's what I was saying. And you knowing and then knowing who you are and
embracing that really brings the light out of you and the light out of other
people who they are and who they might be.

(08:23):
But it's like a good mesh. And it meshed very well together, you know.
And I had to look at it from that perspective and that angle.
Oh, you know, I was too busy young trying to be something adequate.
Not old, but to a degree, I guess I had to be like a chameleon too as well.

(08:47):
Lending amongst different fields in order to get to where I need to go.
Get to the places I need to go. and talk to people I need to talk to,
get into the business and really get into and really keep this thing going.
Didn't really want to box myself in the car, you know. But I felt like I did at one point.

(09:09):
Just felt like I wasn't normal, you know. I don't know. I don't think that's
the case. I think I'm normal to me.
Perfect at being imperfect, you see. I just do that with a smile, you know.
Life too short to just be down to yourself or down to yourself or not even loving

(09:30):
where you're at to build from there and be in greater spaces you know it ain't easy,
trust me I know growing up I was fighting like damn I'm gonna get some work
get a reasonable job get some money grow up and it was still a fight I'm gonna
get some work get some job some money while you got a job Yeah.

(09:51):
Stop there at all it does not stop there at all you know that's what i said
when i heard um love you i was just intrigued because it was like a wakefulness like yo i just need to,
love this you know saying love what i have and and grow with it if i want more

(10:14):
and i'm not trying to Look at all the people's stuff And just Have this sense
of Like He's like Oh man I'm comparing myself But no You,
Love what you got You in the position you in Cause You built for it You know
what I'm saying You got all the abilities You got all the powers And then You

(10:34):
basically Damn near an X-Men At this point,
And so Use your powers You're a superhero I guess another song I could Probably reference Prince.
I'm probably going to get the title and sing the hook, but it's a little first
song and then it's like, what? Grass is always greener on the other side.

(10:55):
Caterpillar to a butterfly. I was like, oh.
Makes sense. It's always going to be greener on the other side.
So you just got to enjoy it.
And so many times I look back and I'm like, this is the best part of my life.
It's very green. And then another part
come over like damn this is green too wait a minute i like

(11:19):
this one this one might get me where i need
to go for sure indeed because
with it what i found was i was always looking outside my look at what i didn't
have and what other people had in disappointment and not the right light like
you know what that's okay but i got somebody else who might not have you know

(11:43):
that would have been a better perspective then but young
i was so looking like oh this is
the access to this and that and not understanding
like yo this is making you more appreciative so by
the time you get it you're gonna know how to handle it
you can't be mad somebody else got
it whether you know how to handle it or not by the time you get to it you're

(12:06):
gonna have it maintaining hold on to it for their life like i just never had
this type of access in my life oh this is great this is not look at that whoa.
But, yeah, on another, I know it's always switching topics.

(12:29):
I get here doing questions and stuff.
Talk a little bit about how much I got stand-up played in my life,
you know. And it played a big, big part, you know. It's out of all the nonsense.
You want to laugh. You want to have something connect to you.
And, you know, the jokes that you made usually line up with your life and stuff.

(12:52):
So, you know, I was really heavy into that. I was super happy.
The journey started, I guess, when it was the stand-up wise.
It was a lot. Now I'm thinking this from 2000.
From what I remember, I remember watching Delirious and Eddie Murphy.
Then I would watch them roll.

(13:13):
And then I was just doing my homework and then listening to Richard Pryor.
I'm like, whoa, listen. So, I mean, then went far beyond, and then it's just Rudy Raymore.
Then I had to go to futuristic, more current and old, but I was raised to fall
on, you know, you had, like, the Bernie Macs, you know what I'm saying?

(13:36):
You had the Robin Harris, you know what I'm saying? You had the Dale Hughley,
you know what I'm saying? You got all these Eddie Griffins, Dave Chappelle,
Vaughn Lawrence, you name it.
That's all I can name off the top, that's all.
And there's a lot more. There's a lot more.
You got the Cats, Cat Williams, you got the Kevin Hartz, you got all different branches.

(14:02):
But what they did at the level, oh yeah, Aries Spears as well,
C.J., you know, all these different people. I don't know these people personally.
I'm just for the material that they created. Very entertaining.
You know what I'm saying? Fresh ride.
Maybe fresh tongue. I'm not going to lie. You know, the Wayans family been killing it. So, you know.

(14:28):
I'm just, you know, just paying homage because through dark times and,
you know, the content that they created made people smile and laugh and praise the situation.
Me in the house and the living room, people outside going through street wars
and street stories, you know, we're laughing our way through it and waking up

(14:49):
the next morning like, I'm going to school.
I'm going to work. We're going to keep this going. We're going to make it through somehow.
I don't know how, but we did it so far. We got this. You know what I'm saying?
We're going to hold each other down.
That was a real talk. Oh, God, I freaked by that. I had to throw that in there.
That was the greatest impression ever.
Not even going to lie. Amazing. See what I'm saying? And there's different elements like that.

(15:14):
And that's not all we do. We just do regular jokes. It'd still be funny to notice.
See, now I like that guy. See, he understands the culture.
He knows. he's a student of the game he didn't just waltz in here and say alright
I'm going to do comedy and I'm running this no he actually sat down did his homework and studied.

(15:40):
I thought I was a bad one no not before I tried I tried I don't see myself that
way I just enjoy the content the entertainment you know stand up I was on another boat,
and we got back-to-back punches with jokes.
That's why I admire it. It's like the cousins of what a rapper is,

(16:03):
because you're borrowing funny jokes.
We rap, and we borrow wordplay, whatever, like metaphors, imagery.
So that's why I kind of connect to that.
And then on so many different levels, it's the game you're talking.
And how much truth you're putting into the crowd where it hits on a different

(16:27):
level, where it might resonate with somebody.
It's a weird thing. I guess I've had to express that because it's very pivotal.
I think I could have been in worse conditions had I been, you know,
just sit down and just watch movies, watch Fridays, you know what I'm saying?

(16:48):
All these different things that was going to take me out of the mindset of what
was there, of what was going on at that time.
I might get put on the list because I need somebody to shout out to now, my brother.
To live. And there's a lot more. You know, I don't want people to think that's
just it, because there's a lot more, you know, that grab my attention that's

(17:14):
dope, you know what I'm saying?
Like, Beyond Cold, Beyond Cold, dope. Very damn.
Maybe I could just use an example of what I was saying. Knew I was going to
see you again. Knew I was going to see you again. Where your book bag at?

(17:34):
I need to work on my impressions, but that's what I say about me.
Like, I know that's not a super strength, you know.
I like how I loop that around like that. I admire somebody who can be a super
strength, you know, and say, like, if you could do a voiceover and do all these
things that make you feel like, how does he do that?

(17:55):
Who told him that? And you'd be dying, you know, until your stomach turns red.
I know I do, you know, It's super funny. You just got me locked into your story.
And this joke just is back to back to back, back, back.
I forget I was even sad. I didn't even know. Sad was an emotion.
I wouldn't tell. I ain't neither.

(18:18):
Yeah. But that's pretty cool. Signed. I enjoyed the show. I definitely enjoyed the show.
Michael Black said it's funny. There's all these people that just got it differently.
Lane funny that lifts up everybody's
day and what they do you know i'm saying and just giving credit
to that as a creator because i know you know

(18:39):
the work you put into a content and
even if you ain't looking to get a certain feedback out of it you're doing it
to either make an impact your architect or whatever you know your agenda is
but the material itself and the quality it holds really aided the people or,

(19:00):
you know, really helped.
And that's why I'm saying this personally for me, you know, just to throw that
out there, because I'm like, yeah, so many times I put myself in the room,
grabbed the DVD, and I'm cracking up.
So you're sitting there, family members on the couch, living room,
dying, rolling, trying to do impressions and all.

(19:22):
You know, it was all different. But it brought people together,
and and that's the fun so that's why
i said that it was a weird segue i didn't think i would get to that but you
know i had to because i always find myself trying to like i guess emulate some
of these people just for the jokes somebody say my name oh.

(19:51):
Chevelle, yeah, quality. Please stop. I don't want to sound too preachy now. Quality over.
Just loop it around. Just be who you are. Truly in age, brace that.
You know what I'm saying? You can't go wrong with that. And internally,
you're going to really feel this flow of energy, this force of like, no way, you're right.

(20:17):
But this was a reasonable little
session we had here so on that
note I'ma sign it all it's your
boy Sleepy West another episode of self-analyzation always stay golden always
stay blessed y'all be the best version of you stay true to yourself and your

(20:42):
true nature always laugh and always smile peace I'm out one.
