Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to the math Swinning Podcast with Me,
Joshua Fox and today guys. I have an announcement. Since
this season wrapped on TV or anyone has been asking
me every day in the messages, is what will happen
to this podcast?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Am I going to carry on doing it? Oh? Is
this the end of Math's funny?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
The speculation about if I'll be stepping away from this
microphone has even become a talking point and one of
Australia's biggest radio shows.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
And they're like, we've got the Maths.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Podcast now that finishes in two weeks, So what then,
what happens in two weeks with your new baby and
your sex addiction?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Well, I think he's got other things. No, no, they don't.
They only have that. No, No they don't. They did.
They're working at like stop.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
You will believe every Oh, we're working on other great ideas.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
They said there is no other great.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Idea, And I can say that Jackie Oh is indeed correct,
because I do have other things planned in Kyle, there
are great ideas, trust me, my friend. So I am
very excited to officially say now that this podcast will
not be ending anytime soon. But there will be a
couple of changes, and I have a couple of updates. Firstly,

(01:16):
as long as the cast keep being messy and these
drama to report on, like this week with the quote
stuff with Jackie and Ryan, I will be here reporting
on it and bringing you the latest. Maybe this will
just be one podcast a week wrapping up what's happening.
Maybe it'll be one breaking news one as something big happens.
Maybe there'll be more, maybe they'll be less. Again, it
just depends what is happening. And I never just want

(01:39):
to do a podcast for the sake of it, just
to get a few downloads.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Like, I'm not really about.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
That it's weird, but like I genuinely feel kind of
like it sounds stupid, but like honored that people have
subscribed to this podcast and like they invest their time
in listening to it, and I never want to like
abuse that by just putting shit out into your feed
for the sake of it. As well as that the
investigation will also be continuing. Those episodes do take a

(02:04):
lot of time to research, pull together, and produce, so
there may just be one every few weeks, But I
am excited to get back onto that and now for
the exciting new stuff as much as Matt's Funny was
born out of memes and just being across the latest
season for the few months that it's on TV. You
guys this year have kind of helped me realize that

(02:24):
it can be more than that. Usually every year, right
once the season wraps on TV, I just log out
of my pages because I genuinely think that no one
wants to hear from me anymore. No one wants any posts,
no one wants any more content. If I do post something,
it's just going to piss people off. And then doing
this podcast and the response I've had from like you guys,

(02:46):
and the messages just of people being like, thank you
for making me laugh, thank you for making my drive
to work more fun, thank you for shining a light
on certain topics like that has really made me rethink
things quite a lot the past month or so, and
a lot of me always disappearing for the rest of
the year, minus the few videos I'll drop maybe August
September when a new season starts. Filming the weddings is

(03:09):
like a confidence and maybe a self esteem thing, which
I suppose is also what held me back starting this
podcast years ago, when I first thought about it, but
I am working on that. And yeah, I suppose this
podcast does open me up to more criticism and trilling,
which like does happen. But I think I've reached a
point now where I'm just like, you know, what fuck

(03:31):
it ort to quote that Mel Robins woman again, let
them I'm happy with what I'm putting out there and
proud to an extent.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
I'm passionate about it.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I like making things that people enjoy, and you know,
some people don't like it, then I don't care. I'm
not making anyone listen to it. It's your choice. And
just like, on that thinking, I now kind of see
this podcast and my page as a platform almost just
for like fun, entertaining content that you know, all loosely

(04:00):
ties back to maths and reality TV in some way.
But I've just realized that, you know, you guys like me,
for the nine months of the year that Maths isn't
on our screens, like we still love reality TV.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
We still love a gossip.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
And a bit of drama, and you know, we still
love being spectators of blossoming romances that we know are
destined to fail. And then again, like me, I've realized
that you guys also like to get a little serious too,
and you know, look beyond the surface of certain things
and dig a little deeper when we have to. But
at the heart of everything, I suppose we all just

(04:35):
want to welcome that little bit of escapism and enjoyment
into our days when we come from creators that we
connect with, and like, I feel very thankful that a
lot of you have connected with this podcast and will
I suppose me so now the announcement as well as

(04:55):
the occasional updates on this year's drama, the investigation, maybe
checking in with cast members, and then once a new
season starts, I'll be on ground bringing you podcasts live
from literally the weddings, which I'm excited for. But I'm
also working on a mini series to fit within this
podcast feed and my page is which anyone who loves

(05:17):
maths will love, Like trust me when I say that,
and I can't say exactly what it is just yet,
but please just be excited because if this comes together
like it already is starting to as I'm like starting
to create it, it may be the biggest thing I've
ever done. Like my heart is racing even teasing it here,

(05:39):
because I am genuinely that excited about this because because
I suppose I like to try new things, maybe push
boundaries in a respectful way, and just I don't know,
I don't like doing what everyone else is doing. I
like to, I don't know, be original and have fun
and just create new things and see how that lands.

(06:00):
Do people relate? Do they enjoy it? So yeah, sorry,
I'm just rambling a bit and looking at my notes,
but just please know something is coming and I'm excited.
And then away from that, I've also recruited my friend's
showbies journalist Lachland Girton and Talia Pritchard, who have both

(06:21):
covered maths for years for different publications.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
To help me out on here.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Last year, Lachland and Talia started their own podcast called
Confessions of a Reality Star, which I was a big
fan of, and they've agreed to bring the second season
of that into The Maths Funny Feed and The Maths
Funny Family And like every week or so, are we
setting them like a little challenge and a task like
go track down this person from eight seasons ago we

(06:46):
all loved but I've forgotten about, like, you know, see
what they're up to, or hey, guys, can you get
to the bottom of this rumor that we've all heard about,
you know that's been unanswered for years now. And basically
they're happy to go do these things that I would
love to, you know, doing be involved in. But in
all longes, stay away from this podcast. I do have
a full time job, which I have been neglecting for

(07:06):
three months now. And thankfully Lachlan and Tylie welcome the
challenge and I am excited to have them join me
because not only are the great, but they're genuinely nice
people who have such a friendly approach to their interviews
and their work. And yeah, they jone me. Now for
their first assignment.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Hello, Josh, Hello, we are ready for our first task.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Welcome to the Maths Funy Podcast.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Thank you for having us.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Okay, guys, so I think between the three of us,
like we can cover all corners of the reality world.
And also between the three of us, like no drama
will go unsolved.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, we've got eyes everywhere now and all these people.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Well that's good because I'll be honest, I've been slacking.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
I don't blame you. You've been a busy boy. There's
been a lot going on.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Well that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
So I've been so focused in the current season that
I completely missed that. While I was doing that I'm
building this podcast on this year's cast, I missed that
Jack and Tory broke up.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Yeah, this was a big one because obviously people didn't
love them last year as one of the only Maths
couples that made it work, and then the breakup still
came as a big surprise now because everyone thought they
were pretty solid.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Even their co stars were shocked. So no one really
understands what happened there.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Well, that's it because they haven't said right. They did
a statement that was quite fluffy, saying we'll always be
friends and you know, as if there's no drama. But
but what's the truth. Yeah, And I don't know why
no one has interviewed them or tracked them down or
I've found out, because since this season has ended, everyone's
now looking back, what have we missed? And I'm being
asked every day, and I'll be honest, I've got no idea.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I do wonder if they were very clever in announcing
during the season of Maths when it might have got overshadowed.
That's very, very true, but it didn't go unnoticed by us.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
It did not so yesterday.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Well, I think for your first kind of challenge on
this podcast, it's up to you two to get to
the bottom of it and give a Australia the answer
they want.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Okay, we're going to find out the.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Two we'll be sliding into some dms.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Do you have any leads or ideas.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I've interviewed both of them. I would say I've got
an okay relationship with them. I am I would say
friends with We are both friends with Eden from their season,
and she has since become good friends with both Jack
and Tory. They live in the Gold Coast, so we
do have an inn. We can do some digging there.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
This is true.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
We can do DM sliding, we can get on the phone.
We can imply to Queensland if you need us to.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We will find We're on a budget. If you want
to trip, go for it.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
But no, like I think you two are perfect for
this job, because I'll be honest, I don't think Jack
likes me because his season I cross paths a few times,
but whenever I saw him, I would just shout things
at him like has someone muzzled you?

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Remember that? And then I remember the reunion.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
He was wearing, you know, really tight pants with no socks,
and I shouted where are your socks? Which I thought
was good journalism.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
It was I would pack that.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
People need to know.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Well he did it, why didn't look too happy? The
video ended up doing millions of views, and.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
If we talked to Jack, we can find that out.
Where were the socks?

Speaker 2 (10:06):
That's the biggest.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Question, and then the space I forget the breakout, okay,
well I reckon off, you go okay, and then good luck.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
So while Lachlan and Talie and now get to work,
I'm going to link their first season of Confessions of
a Reality start in the podcast notes it so you
can check out some of their previous episodes, with everyone
from Cyrel talking about her season and drama that we
didn't know until now you know, all the way to
Chrissy Swan reflecting on her days in Big Brother and
how that's led to her huge career in radio that

(10:38):
she has now. So yeah, there's your answer. Math's funny
in the podcast Going Nowhere, a couple of changes, a
few new voices you'll hear, but overall, I just want
this to be a platform for fun entertaining content that
covers serious things, but overall we just listen and we
have a laugh.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Goodbye.
