Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to the map Swinny podcast with
me Joshua Fox. And today's episode is going to be fun.
And trust me when I say that. I am joined
again by producer Pedro, who has no idea why he's
here as usual as usual. Okay, So, as I said,
this one's going to be fun. And usually when someone
says someone's going to be fun, it's not fun. But
(00:20):
this is going to be fun.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Well, because I'm here, it's going to be fun, I
think questionable. Okay.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Anyway, so before we get into everything, a few days ago,
I saw Katie from this year's season announced that she'd
launched like a surprising new business venture, you know, off
the back of her time on the Shower and her fame,
and I think it's genius. So I wanted to cover
that anyway, but then I thought we could have a
look back at some of them more cooked business ventures.
Past cast members have all tried to launch post show,
(00:52):
you know, to utilize their fame and make money or whatever, because,
like upon reflection, so many of them are just really cringe. Yeah,
we're always destined to fail. And occasionally some have been
really clever, but mostly it's just been like a string
of disasters.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Oh, well, this should be fun because I want to
I want to hear what these are.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, and I always say good on people for trying,
But when you read what some of these people tried,
you're like, mate, what were you thinking? But for now, okay, Katie,
what do you reckon?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Uh? Weight loss?
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Piop?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Because remember she lost all the weight?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
No, she already had an ambassadorship with a like protein brand.
I think because she's been like, the weight loss thing
has been gradual of her.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Oh since the start of the year, is okay? Oh,
mentoring coaching, Oh yeah, life coaching, Well, Katie is now
an offer and a mindset mentor well sounds like you.
You've got so many titles, author only fans, storyteller.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I hate taking the piss ah. So earlier this week,
Katie did a post on Instagram where she basically said, Yo,
I've written a couple of ebooks and one of them
is called Setting the Foundation for Self Love, and the
other is called Health through Self Love. And then she's
also offering an online course called Rescue Yourself from Toxic People,
(02:07):
which I've signed up for to rescue myself from you.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I'm not the least of your worries. But can I
ask you something When people say they write e books yep,
you know, like is it actually written by her or
is it just this chat gbt ai book that you know?
How people do that? They write a book through ai. Yeah,
and they claim it as their own and put it
on Amazon.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
So people do that. But I would say with Katie,
I remember I really like Katie. I think she's lovely,
and I think I would say that she has written
this yes, because what people don't know is that she
has a degree in behavioral science and a major in psychology,
and like she's always been interested in this like mindset stuff.
(02:51):
And then I suppose the genius part for me is
all yeah, people have watched her on this gradual journey
of learning to love her self, lose weight, change her
life essentially, and her audience. I see the comments on
a post. It's like women in similar spaces being like,
how did you do it? What's your secret? I want
to do what you did? Oh.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
So she's then tapped into that because she.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Wants to help out, like, well, there's an audience. This
is something Kate's passionate about. Like okay, yeah, that makes sense.
And it's funny because people are, oh, they're just cashing in.
But it's like, well, if the opportunity is there, like,
what's wrong with that? Now? If we want to talk
failed business, I'm going to go right back to season
five there because the first person who really gave it
(03:32):
a hot goal to make something of himself?
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Oh him? Okay? Who Nasa? Oh god? What did he do?
Surfing lessons?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
No? Actually, you know NASA's day job, but no one
thinks he's got a day job. It's a personal trainer
to pensioners. Really, he takes them to like walks around
the park and stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
And does is he like does he does he quote
pensioners like three times the price because they're old and
they don't know but any better?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I can't comment on that, but so post show I didn't.
If you remember, in NASA's season reunion, he had an
iconic line which was, it's not all about the hashtag Divina,
hashtag coconut oil.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Oh, don't tell me he started a coconut oil.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
No, he decided to become a beauty blogger because of
one line.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
But what were people buying? What was his business that?
What could people purchase?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
No? He was just going to chemist warehouse was on sale,
going home and saying, yes, how you put a face
musk NASA. And then I was working at the magazines
at the time, and he hit up every magazine saying
would you like me to be a beauty columnist? And
everyone said no thanks, So then heh do you.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Like NASA though?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
He's good value, he's a troll, but like he's funny.
And then he released a T shirt range. There was
two T shirts I remember this, Yeah, one said it's
a NASA thing. That didn't sell very well. So then
he did a second run of one that said in
a NAS we trust.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Oh I remember that. Remember what was the bloke from
this year? It must be an old contestant thing because
that Tony bloke from this.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Had a T shirt wrange code Tony time. Oh bro, Well,
I'm joining the scripture. So while we're on the T
shirt what NASA started, everybody has kind of just ran
with lost me pa.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
So and this is the pioneer, the T shirt, the
printed T shirt pioneer, the printed T shirt pioneer of
cringe quotes. Because then a few years later member Alan
brent Al and brent Yes Yes. So then Brent had
a line in his final Vows to Tomorrow where he
says goodbye.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
And good riddance.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh, he made a show about that.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Was then a hoodie. Oh my god, I'll had one
that said shoey, which fair what I was mister shoey,
Oh shoey.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Oh yeah that makes sense. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
And then Alyssa a few years ago she was with
a man called Duncan. She was American, and she kept
talking about the fact she had a child. So what
do you think about that? A Lisa, my child, my child,
my child, and my child.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I need attention my child, my child, my child and
my child.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
I need ah, my child and my child.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Is that Evelyn Duncan?
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah? Well oh yeah yeah, because then when the brokeer,
Evelyn go with him. Yeah. So she released a line
of T shirts that said I have a child.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Okay, enough with the T shirt?
Speaker 1 (06:14):
No this away. Do you remem mc collins?
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Yeah, don't tell me. He started a T shirt?
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah? His was What a day?
Speaker 2 (06:22):
What a day?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
What a day?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Sorry?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
But can we go?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Can we just talk about Collins because he's a mystery.
What happened to that guy? I've never heard of him ever? Again,
didn't he get like two hundred followers from being on
the show, like he must be the only person to
not gain any followers.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Well, yeah, then he tried to release his T shirt
because people will remember on his wedding to two hundred
followers on his wedding day, just so you know the
line he was getting like, I don't think he liked
the woman. Naturally she was caught and producers kept going like, oh,
you know, what do you think of Nataline? He just
kept going, oh, what a day, because he don't know
nothing to say. So then fast forward three months, he's
(06:59):
gonna say it didn't. Then there was a guy called
Ridge that season who kept in the word dese boys
give us.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
A these these nuts no d w C like as
if it's like slang, you know, like we.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Got Oh that's sick. He goes, oh that's then everyone
was like what's this? And then he it was like
in meingoes, you know, stop making fetch a thing. Yeah, yeah,
he rarely tried to make decent thing T shirtsies.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
That's nice.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Have we heard from him again? Never?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
No, the T shirt is the curse.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Oh yes, So let's go back to NASA season anyway,
because Nata may have been the male entrepreneur of that year,
but there was one woman and.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
She gave everything. A red hot girl who Tracy Duel.
Oh no Tracy, and like she I'd.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Say she's the like og Trier. She kicked things off
as the season ended, she released a book. Yep, it
was called Don't Mess with the Goddess, The New Rules
for Consciousness for the Millennial Woman.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
I've got nothing to say that.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
What she helped to inspire women with actually pissed them off,
because then when she decided to announce book signings, apparently
she was charging one hundred and twenty eight dollars to
go meet. Oh Tracy, what did she do before the show?
She was in marketing, So that kind of explains why
she then did all these things.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Wasn't she paid with Dean?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah? And he cheated on with the Divena Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
And then wasn't it is it public that he is
not public?
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Okay, you wanted to get sued?
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Sorry, But then things went kind of south for Tracy
quite quickly because the book was as the show ended.
Fast forward a few months, she did an interview where
she says she's now broke and unemployed and no one
will hire.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Her because of the reputation.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Than she left the backlash and just yeah, and then
things got messy. But then the end of twenty eighteen,
she bounced back. She rebranded herself as the Bitcoin Goddess,
and she vowed to improve the quality of people's lives
through her new crypto currency business.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
The fact I don't know anything about this, then she's
a marketing queen.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Well, I don't think it. I think it ended as
quickly as anyway. Then she's in like a few things
she got into, like the wellness space, and then most
recently last year, she launched bath therapy. So imagine the
word therapy but with a BA like bath araby.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Bath therapy.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Therapy is to do with therapy, basically having a bath
and therapy.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh, does she have like a bath place where you
go in and have like a cold bath or a
warm bath or a sauna or something. Is that what
it is?
Speaker 1 (09:38):
No, So you have a bath in your house and
she sits next to your Now I'm joking. No, So
according to Deli mal bath therapy, don't I am I
saying that a bath therapy bath therapy.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Bath therapy. Just say it like that bath therapy.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Therapy offers DIY sessions where you can create and take
home your own soaps, candles, bath bo shower steamers, and soaks.
And she launched this after completing a diploma in mental health.
That's a good idea.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Good for her for trying, but on board. Next, all right,
let's go controversial sex toys.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
So if you remember, like Jess Power was like the
first person to start this trend of influencers promoting sex
toys for companies and Instagram, And at the time everyone
was like, oh my god, how degrading. Yeah, but like
it's so normalal also not degrading because most people masturbate
use a toy. Yeah, anyway, So then jess started that.
But then a couple of years later, do you remember
domin Ella. Yes, they upped Jessica because they designed their
(10:34):
own sex toy and released it and it was called
the Dominella Vibrator. Not very creative anyway. That was selling
well until two things happened.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
What guess umm, did a battery explode in someone's No, okay,
you know, like the iPhone's battery exploding same song batteries? Uh,
well they didn't. They have a fight.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah. Firstly, they stopped being friends, so therefore joint business
ventures not ideal. Secondly, as their business first started to
take off when they were still friends, Ella actually caused
like an international scandal with it, really because she decided
to take us to ballot to film all her social
content promoting it there and the country where sex toys
are illegal, are they actually yeah, because it's quite conservative Ballely, So.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
There's no sex toys in Bali. You can't buy them.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I mean people might take them in the suitcase for
a little like play in your hole tower and but
you're not swinging it about on Instagram like hey guys,
Bally went to a temple today, now do you know
what I mean? So I remember all the headlines at
the time, like Ella causes scandal with illegal sex toy
promotion from Indonesia, and it was I think there was
talking of for getting deported at the time, but I
(11:46):
think she avoided that.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
So that's been banned. So that is that the reason
why God didn't get the venture.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
No, I didn't get banned, it's just she caused like
controversy then, and then I think it just fizzled out
because they stopped being mates. But then Ella has continued
to be a bit controversial in the business world because
do you remember she launched one of those like giveaway companies. Yeah,
oh yeah, I saw that, and like it was just
all over TikTok for so long. Hey, guys, buy a
raffle ticket and then win a range over and then.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
It was just that ever actually happened.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
So it turns out everybody thought it was a scam,
but it turned out it was legit. It was just
maybe a bit questionable your chances of winning, but like
things were being given away. And then the legality side,
because everyone thought it was illegal what she was doing,
but no, it's she registered herself as a trade promotion
rather than as a lottery. Oh so I think, so.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
What does that mean?
Speaker 1 (12:36):
I don't know. It just there's a lot of like
because that Adrian Patelli, mister Lambeo, he has one of
the biggest versions of this business. That's how he become
a billionaire, because you know, like say he's like, I've
bought a hundred grand car buyer to get fifty dollars. Yeah,
and then he makes Yeah for the podcast listeners, dickhead,
they might not.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Forgot there's people listening.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, like, and then he might make a million dollars
from ticket to that, so that's kind of how they
make the money. And then Ella popped up with hers
and everyone was just like what is this? But then
midst of a lambo, he has been in court I
think this week in South Australia because each state has
different laws for these giveaway companies. So anyway, everyone thought
it was a scam, it wasn't. And then that's just
kind of faded away. But while we're on the subject
(13:19):
of Ella and domb season, Brent, Oh, yeah, I remember
this guy when the Goodbye good Riddance.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
It was recently on Daily Mail telling someone off on
a DM.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Wasn't he because of this business?
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Okay? What was it?
Speaker 1 (13:31):
So he was quite popular when his season ended, and
he was known for like being hot and in shape,
you know, mostly that type of guy into wellness. So
then he decided to tap into the sea moss market.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
What is that sea moss seaweed?
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Well, I'm still not sure about it, but so I've
got a description. Seamos is a type of red seaweed
that grows along Atlantic coastlines. It is a nutrient rich
food known for its high contrent of iodine, antioxygens, and
over ninety trace minerals, making it a popular plant based
supplement that can support fire roid function, boost the immune system,
(14:05):
and promote healthy skin and digestion.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
So it does it come in a tablet form?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
No, it's just like a tub of fucking powder. I
don't I don't understand anyway. This rollout has been and
I don't say this lightly, a fucking disaster because he
launched it and like everything looked legit photoshoots. He was
overseas sourcing the seaweed proper business people were buying it,
(14:30):
but then orders just never arrived and then when they
did they were damaged that the seaweed was a bit weird.
And then it got to the point where yeah, Brent
was hitting out at customers like having a go when
they complained, and it got to the point where the
government had to step in. Oh no, and New South
Wales Fair Trading literally issued a warning to Australia saying,
(14:50):
do not is that true shop at this company like
it's everyone's We've had too many complaints.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
That's no good.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
So there's another failed on.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
Any of these business is successful? Well, we're going to
are we going to get to anyone.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Yes, we do have some success before we get to
the success. He led to a couple more failures. Okay,
So there's a man called Timothy. A few years ago
he was married to Loosen the Light. Oh.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
I never watched that season, but I know who listened
there is He.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Seemed like a nice in the guy. I don't really
remember what he did before the show, but then post show,
we thought, well, I've got some followers, now what can
I do? So he decided to run for parliament for
the City of Melbourne as an independent.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
How did he go there?
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Didn't win? No, he's not the first person to try politics.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yes, who else?
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Summer a man called Troy from NASA's season The Guy
with the Tooth brush his teeth quite aggressively. He announced
in twenty nineteen he was running for parliament in the
upcoming federal election and he was contesting the seats of
North Sydney as an independent candidate.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
What there was?
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Did he win?
Speaker 2 (15:55):
No? No? Where is he now? That guy?
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Good question? He was?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
He was a strange creature.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
It was funny though. He was like the first kind
of quirky, like you don't understand who are what? He is,
all right, what else have we got? So many notes?
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Like twenty papers on your well, I did my research
for this because you didn't bother.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
All right, So this I'll started announcing that Katie has
released an ebook. Now, she's not the first author to
come from the show. We've already covered Tracy's yeah attempt
that well, she'd starting attempt. She had a book out.
I just don't know if people read it. But Tracy,
you remember after the show she got with her co
star Sean who's famous a wearing a gold jacket at
the reunion and everyone said he looked like Ellen DeGeneres.
(16:38):
Oh yes, people know.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
What a great throwback I remember making you meme of
that guy.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
There you go. Yeah, and then he kind of hated
his time on Math. So then he wrote and released
on Amazon a self published memoir, Card Married Lies Secrets
behind Reality Television. And this is the book that was
described the shocking true story of the lies and manipulation
used by one of Australia's biggest TV production companies, The
full inside story of bullying tactics, clever editing and storyboarding
(17:11):
used to create a TV phenomenon.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
That sounds like these podcast Yeah, but you should read it.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Bro So Sean had the book. It's still on Amazon.
I don't know how well it's held, but like he
legit did that. Then Dominica, Oh yes, became an author.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Oh yes, that did that?
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Do good?
Speaker 2 (17:27):
That book is that recent?
Speaker 1 (17:29):
It was maybe like a year ago. She self published,
like a what's the word I'm looking for? Like so
published an order biography that like I Learned to Change
your Life, Sofie, and it was called I don't actually
understand this title, improve don't prove anyway. So when she
announced the book, she then did like a video in
(17:50):
her house and she self published. So what she did
was she would have paid for maybe a thousand copies
to be printed. She did this video and this boxes
the boxes in her house, just books everywhere, you know,
ready to sell. Then the next day she did another
video crying because no one bought it. No, it turned
out she spelled her name wrong on the front. Oh
you're kidding, her own name missed the Oh.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Maybe that wasn't no, but maybe.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
That was quite upset.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
That's a genius marketing move, is it.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
If you're like wanted to become an author, like you know,
like the first thing you can't spell your name, so
how did she spell it because her name's like told
me a Calaco or yeah, and then I think she
missed the second sea. Yeah. And this is like I'm
saying this as an author who used a publisher. They
were like, Josh, we've got you an editor once you
finished the manuscript. And I was like, I don't need
(18:41):
an editor, Like it's fine, I've read it. You need
an editor, of course, like they go through word by
word and the word dog they give you back, you know,
the annotations come on the side. It's huge fuck to
get through it.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
She should have done that.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yeah, So anyone else thinking of doing a book either
get a publisher or hire an editor.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
But did she end up selling?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
No? I had never heard of it. Again, and then
in successful books which like we're not self publisher, like
proper publisher, proper rollout, you know, on the shops in shelves,
not just.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
That amazing, And I guess, oh, yeah, I know this one.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Well these too, cam and Jewels Jewels did one yes,
God ask jewels love yourself and live your dream yep.
I actually read that. It was all right, cool story. Next, Okay,
that was rude. No, I like cool story.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Next, Yeah, what's the next?
Speaker 1 (19:26):
You could have asked me about it?
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah, what was it about? No one cares? Go next
listen to light? Oh next, Okay, I don't care about
these old ladies honestly.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Like stop, these are actually sure?
Speaker 2 (19:39):
No, no, they are. I know she's very nice and lovely,
but I'm it's not it's not.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Not what you're into personally. But let's think this is
not as evan to try to podcast.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
No, no, no disrespect to either of them. It's just yeah,
we'll record it.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
And me talking to you.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
I get it, but I can't see you and pretend
to care.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
How these things work is I say something we bounce
off each other to this.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
I understand, but I honestly can't face it.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Anyway. Lucinda kind of become a bit of an entrepreneur
because she was a wedding celebrate before the show, and
then she became like full booked out for that, so
she had to stop doing that. Then she went to
the UK where she did a dating show co hosted
with Vicky Parson from Joddy.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Show, Oh Yeah, oh Yeah, which did well.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Then she actually launched a while this one called the
Lucinda Light tribe where like, you spend thirty dollars a
month to become a member and she does like weekly
zoom classes.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Is that a real name? No.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
One of the biggest stories I've ever done on Maths
was the day her wedding d It was like, the
headline was just loosen the Light's real name revealed.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (20:41):
I don't even remember?
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Oh, okay, yeah, because it doesn't sound real.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Google it.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
You get your from the sind the light real name, Oh,
Lucinda Riley. That sounds more realistic.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
It's not got star quality, does it?
Speaker 2 (20:53):
It doesn't.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
And anyway, back to Jewels, he told me to move
on from So I'm not going to move on because
Jewels is one of like the biggest successes, you know,
establishing a following, thinking what's the core audience here, what
are they into? What do we have in common? And
how can I essentially make a business and monetize that.
And then that started with the fact that during her
season she was trolled a lot for her appearance her way,
(21:15):
and then she kind of hit back on that and went,
you know what, fuck you guys. And then she released
a shapewear brand called Figure and that did so well,
because then her season blew up in the UK. So
then this brand was like huge in Australia and the UK.
So that's been building for a few years now. And
then recently that brand expanded into swimwear, so like Shape swimwear. Oh,
(21:39):
they actually do shaewear for men now. Yeah, like if
you've got like a jewels or jenners in general, but
like you see like men's boxers, but like if you've
got a little belly, these boxes under nipples essentially in compressively.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
But then it makes I feel like it would make
your boobs sticking out more, you know.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
Try to have a piss boobs.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
That's a yeah, it needs a little zipper at the bottom.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Let's buy some let's throw him out. So yeah, Duels
just kind of smashed it with that. She had the book,
she got the Shape where lanth Range. Then she did
a size inclusive fashion label card I think it's called
Myra Muse. I don't know you said that word m
O I I A yeah, my Myra, Yeah, Myra Muse.
That's the fashion one. And then Cam has kind of
(22:26):
been doing his own thing. He's very passionate about mental
health and he always has been, like before the show.
So he's become like an ambassador for charities. He does
a lot of work there. He's booked for like MC
things speaking events.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Yeah, this is boring me.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
No, that's not boring because you know where like about camp. No,
but I'm telling I'm going to tell you a nice story. Now. Yeah,
he's like some people can go into that because they
just think that's going to get me views are popular.
But he is legit, like very passionate about that, to
the point that when my husband left me forro Back Go.
Yeahs Common Jeels lived like two streets away. We were
(23:02):
both see why they were the suburb networks. Yea, and
they would walk down to like the beach during COVID.
You remember you couldn't leave more than two k's from
your house. Oh yeah, and I lived next to the beach.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Oh so not your recent husband.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Your first legit proper marriage were.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
The Mass Funny podcast Everyone Everyone's gonna I think that was.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
One of those people. We barely knew each other, but
he was regularly messaging, checking and even to this day,
he constantly maybe.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
He wanted maybe he wanted to get in with the
He's just stupid.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
He generally just could see someone he kind of knows
going for a ship time and still checks in. And remember,
like post COVID, when that time when I couln't really
see friends, I was mad depressed. Yeah, I'd just gone
for a walk one day out my house down to
the beach and he was there with his son who
had just been born, and we just had a really
lovely chat. And that's nice, so genuine. So when you
(23:54):
say boring, look shut up.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
I'll be honest. I've met both Cam and Jewels. They're
very lovely, they're very nice people. I'm just like being
a bit of a smart ass.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Okay, well only fans then, yes, let's go.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
This is now, we're talking. Now we're interesting.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
So this is kind of like maybe the past five years,
this became the easiest way for people to leave the
show and make money off that oil.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
So we're classifying this as business as like, as a
business business venture.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Out of everything we mentioned, it profitable and leading that
is Hailey Vernon Yep, who she mad? I think at
least one point five Mili why are you laughing? Sorry?
Speaker 2 (24:32):
What I don't know if I can say, you get
the taxi thing.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
When we started in the adult space. I was helping
him with pr and then I ended up just filming
up on.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
And I remember you show me in this video, and
there was this she was in the back of a
taxi with another woman naked, hooking up.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
They weren't naked, they were just getting the boobs out.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Boobs are out, okay. And then some random bloke I
think he had one tooth, right, a homeless All right, now,
homeless man, let me set the scene game place. This
is so Bunny Haley and Tory Cummings a former planet
that had been out for drinks. We were going back
to the hotel where they were going to film a
girl on girl scene. And then, like one of their friends,
they had a driver at the time, they were making
(25:15):
that much money.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
They found a driver. Then he picks us up and
we're driving through the city Friday night to go back
to the hotel. And they were like, let's start the
scene in the back. Like I was in the front
pointing the camera in the back seat, let's start by
just you know, a bit of kissing the rubb each
of his boobs. I was like, all right, Like I
don't care, I'm gay. Yeah, I like they got a
bit heated, so one of the tops came off. Having
both tops came so they're snogging. Tits are out tinted windows,
(25:39):
so it's fine. What we didn't realize is because there
was a light on top of the camera, a tinted
windows don't work. It was a Friday night in the CBD,
heavy traffic. We were stuck at the lights. Little do
we know every person on the streets staring through the windows.
To the point a homeless man's got up and he's
stood in front of the castle. We hadn't move and
he's just peering there, and then he puts her hand
(26:00):
down his trousers and that's when we go, okay, cut
the scene.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Wait can you play the audio because it's funny. It's
the video yesterday He's toothless.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
So that's Hailey trying to get back into the scene
as the music blaring on the ratio and Torri is going,
He's just repeating, he's toothless, He's toothless.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
It's the visuals so much funny than the audio, to
be honest.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
So Hailey most profitable, i'd say from the adult industry, yep.
And then she kind of gave it up. I did
a podcast a few maybe two months ago, which people
can go and listen to about why she did that.
Jessica Power obviously still in that space, made a lot
of money. Olivia Fraser, Alana Lista, and Michelle Karen remember her. Yeah,
she got dubbed the only fans Grant because she was
(26:55):
a bit older.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Oh yeah, I remember her.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
I liked her. She was always lovely to me.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Wasn't Michure strange? For some reason, something happened, there was
a story, the story around her.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
What was it? Oh, she was just things got really
heavy with that guy Steve she was with, and then
it's just her season was not funny. Things got very dark.
And then she was working in the police before the show,
as like a teaching recruits or something, and then she
obviously con return to that and then that's what she did.
Only fans, good honor. Yeah, and she was kind of
(27:25):
I remember she gave me a quote once where I said, like,
do you fear judgment or whatever? And she went no,
like I'm happy people find pleasure in my body and
she said like my body is a vessel for other people.
I'm not sure what that means, but I think it
sounds good.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
That's something an alien would say. If you're not into conspiracies,
you're not.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Gonna get No, you're big into conspiracies. I just remember
actually called Eden Harper a few years ago. She was
with that guy who had long hair.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Confused with Eden because there was wasn't there an even
in Love Island?
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Yeah, well eatn half of Math's. She's got a really
cute dog. She posted a lot on Instagram, so she
started like a dog brand card, cub.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Oh, I should have done that, A I want my
dog to be an influencer.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Your dog's not cute.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Excuse me, it's a it's a toy pood or it's
so cute.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
I think that's kind of it. So what else say?
Is I admire anyone ambitious? Yeah? I know.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
I mean we can sit here and laugh and take
the piece, but you can't shit on people for trying
to make money and start business. So that's good, right, But.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
I think maybe just the ways they go about it,
and like there's this thing of like aim for the sky,
but be realistic.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
What I took away from this whole podcast is that
none of these people have like a long term strategy.
They kind of just want jewels. And camp except jewels
and Camp. But it's worth mentioning in Matha and Michael.
Oh yeah, But they haven't necessarily created a business. Michael
Michael did for a while with truth It like a
fitness program thing which did well.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Actually did that program, it was good. I don't think
it does that anymore. But they've more just aligned themselves
very strategically with high end brands, which you know, they've
afforded a very and they've.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Created a brand themselves.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
They as a couple of our Power brand. And I
suppose that goes back to that point of it's funny
that when you're a couple in this space, your relationship
is your put is your your personal life is your career.
So it's like weird when they had a baby, it's like,
well that opens them up to how many new markets
in terms of baby brands and baby sponsorships and like
(29:34):
to have a baby. Yeah, it's just crazy to think,
like like, I mean, you're married with a kid. Imagine
you were on a reality TV show then you left it,
we partied, then it's like, well if we get married
now we're going to make X amount of money. So
then you might get married before you were ready right
then you're like, oh, Partly's pregnant, and you're like, great,
we're gonna have a baby. But in this world, it's
(29:55):
kind of like great, we're gonna have a baby. Great
like our market's ability, we're now are people to s
which like we have so much more brand appeal.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Well, especially like because they've all got management, these people,
most of them, like I see, we get like an
industry email every day diary social diary, and they even
send out like there was one for Dominica the other day.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
I find it so for people don't know explain what
social diary is.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Social diaries basically like an email send out. They send
it out every day and it it kind of notifies
you of events that happen every day, Brands that are
willing and open to work with creators, creators that are
willing and open to work with brands. It just connects
people that words with each other.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Influencers one in three things. Yes, so you'll always get
like in earlier this year, it's like, Hi, we're from
talent agency whatever, and our influencer random name has three
hundred thousand followers. They're going to Europe for two months
and they'll look into partner with Yes, hotel chains, Yeah, yeah,
clubing company, it's too like literally anything. And then is
(30:53):
this one I can't find the one about Dominica.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
No, but it was basically Dominica from maths blah blah blah.
She's had a baby if you and she's open to
collaborate if you want to.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
You know, if you've got a company that yes for
babies essentially.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
And that's how kind of they get sponsored deals.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Yeah, so then maybe a PRAM company could see that
and go, oh, she'd be a good fit. So we're
going to give her twenty grand to be an ambassador.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
But that's yeah, that's how that works.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
So our takeaway from this is good on anyone for trying,
but maybe with your ambition be realistic.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yes, and have a long term strategy, as selling a
T shirt twenty t shirts is not long term.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Actually, I'm going to ask you something here, Yes, because
you know how kids, when you grow up, you say
to kids you can be anything when you grow up.
I think that's bad advice.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
I think it's good advice, but like, realistically, you know,
but you honestly can be anything.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
You can't know you your dot is not going to
be the next Taylor Swift. She can go I want
to be a pop star. But if she can't sing,
for shit, never gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
But you can get singing lessons.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
That's not you have a can singer? You can't.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
I can't say you can be you can honestly be
anything in your style. No, you can be anything you want.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Can you be a nice person.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
If you want to be a nice you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (32:14):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Bro I'm telling you, if you can think it, you
can do it, you can be it.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
That's such bullshit, it's not It sounds like I've leave
my whole life off that motto. Yeah, but what you've
achieved is great, Like exactly, you've actually achieved good things. Yes,
but like you didn't say five years ago you want
to be an Olympic athlete because that would never happen. No,
But all right, give me this. Say you wanted to
be a pro basketballer. Yes, we're never going to happen
(32:41):
because you're not tall.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
No, but you don't have to be tall. There's a
position in basketball called point guard, and some of the
point guards in the biggest leagues aren't even tall.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
All right, what if I want to be the Prime Minister.
You can, Bro, I'm not clever enough. I know that.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
But this is the problem. This is what's stopping people
from saying it to actually achieving it. No, but I'm
I'm telling you the truth, Bro. From saying you want
to be something to achieving it, right, you have to
do every single step along the way, and if you're
not willing to fully commit, then you're never going to
achieve it. So it's one thing to think it, but
(33:14):
if you don't put the things in place to achieve it,
you're not going to do it.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Well, I think Nata gave everything to his T shirt.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
I can say I want to be a professional footballer tomorrow.
I can say it, but if I don't train every
single day, train every day.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
But you still need to have that base talent and
you don't have that in soccer, so it's never going
to happen.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Well, you've never watched me play for starters, But.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
No, you know what I'm saying. Go back to that
idea of your daughter becoming the next Taylor Swift. If
she can't sing, no matter how much she tries, and
how many lessons, not going to happen.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
I get that, Bro, I get that. You just never know.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Bro, Am I saying this, I'm never going to have kids? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I mean, look, you believe what you want to believe.
I believe differently.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I think anyone can have a dream. But you just
have to be realistical. Bo, you're setting yourself up for failure.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Yeah, but also don't forget this is a very valid
point too. If you do aim to be Taylor Swift
and you don't achieve it, you might land somewhere that
isn't quite the Taylor Swift, but you might be somewhere
where you're still happy with. But I mean, what's wrong
with that? Samantha Jade's pretty successful in her own way.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
It's literally on the American country in Australia Australian pop
star I can think of.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
But that's what I'm saying, right, if you aim high,
like what do they say, aim for the moon and
you land among the stars or some shit.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Whatever that's saying is when did you become inspirational?
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Well? Bro, you know I've been thinking a lot. I'm
what thirty three. Now, I've got a daughter, I've got
to I've actually started thinking about the way I need
to speak to her when she's older, you know, to
try and motivate her.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
It could start with the fact the first month of
her life you refer to her as it, yes, And
I said, maybe, don't.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Say that I hated the first six months. I know.
Actually I hated the first eight months. Now she's getting cute,
so I love her.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
One day she'll listen to this, and if you're listening, Lucia,
you're never going to be Taylor Swift.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Anyway, let's wrap it there because we're at forty six
minutes now.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
So Yah
