Before the remaining couples make it to their final vow ceremonies, the "experts" have one final task for them... which destroys any remaining romance and leads to one pair splitting up on the spot.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to the Mass Funny podcast. And
let's skip the usual intro today and just get straight
into it. What the heck is this big, huge, never
been done before twist that's coming up on the show
this week that was just teased. At the end of
tonight's episode, a brand new phase of the experiment is revealed.

(00:25):
This is a shot. This is a real shot. That
is crazy. That is not what I was expecting at all.
The twist is Temptation Week, where ahead of the final
Vile ceremonies, each cast member is basically handed an envelope
from the experts and in it is a letter which says, Hey,

(00:46):
we actually have a backup match who you're kind of
compatible with. Do you want to go on a date
with them? Behind your current partners back? And as you'd expect,
that leads to some fucking disastrous consequences. Paul agrees to
meet his backup option and going a date with her,
but Karina doesn't agree to meet hers and doesn't think
Paul will meet his, which basically leads to them splitting

(01:06):
up on the spot once she finds out because she
says that's cheating the fact he did that, and He's like, no,
it was just curiosity. Jamie agrees to meet her back up,
but apparently that guy stands her up on their day. Dave,
I'm not too sure about. Beth and TJ both go
off and meet their backup options. Is that surprise no,
since they're essentially over anyway. According to The Daily Mail, Jackie, Ryan,

(01:30):
Adrian and Athena also all went off to meet their
backup options, and the only people to say no, thank you,
We're quite happy as we are was of course RhE
and Jeff, who are officially now the saviors of the season.
And as messy as this is all going to be
to watch, the thing I'm most looking forward to is
which of the experts they're going to have try and

(01:51):
justify this whole task as like a positive thing for
the couples, because there really is no spin that they
can put on this challenge to make it sound like
anything but a final attempt to destroy the relationships that
have managed to last this long. And also remember the
relationships that these experts are employed to try and make
work and thrive anyway. So yeah, that's basically that's the

(02:14):
final challenge. Everyone gets a let us say and yeah,
we've got to back up for you. Do you want
to meet them? And most people say yeah, why not?
Which does that make this whole season feel a bit
pointless when we're meant to be watching relationships blossom and
bloom and then go off into the real world together. Potentially,
could this then inspire a spinoff season where any of

(02:36):
these new couples are matched together. Potentially again, I actually
wouldn't put it past the producers to bring one of
these backup options onto next season as a brider groom
and then potentially bring one of this year's people back
if there is a connection between them. If that happens,
you hit it here first, Thank you very much, good night.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
