This should be the happiest week of Jacqui and Clint's lives, but after a disastrous radio interview on Tuesday another backlash is growing bigger by the day.

I also released a book last year which you can check out here if you're a reader or Audiobook streamer... it's about the other side of my life and career, but has some MAFS goss in there!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to the Maths Funny Podcast with
Me Joshua Fox and four days have now passed since
this year's season came to an end, and guess what, guys,
there is already drama, most noticeably involving Jackie and Clint.
Although this week should have been nothing but a fairy
tale for the two of them as they got engaged
and celebrated Jackie's thirtieth birthday in Sydney, a few things

(00:22):
have gone very very wrong now before we get to
the big drama. After their engagement on Sunday night, Jackie
and Clint have been doing the media rounds promoting their
love story and also hitting back at rumors that their
relationship is nothing but a publicity stunt, which is basically
what all of their former coasts are saying. Here's the

(00:45):
happy couple talking to pedestrian on Monday.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
It's all the funniest thing. Some so expert being like
body language says that this is fake. I was like, literally,
we could be pregnant and you'd still say the same thing,
like it's jealousy. But it's like God, like we haven't
spoken to you guys in months, Like we've moved on
with our lives. You should to you know, like stop

(01:07):
clinging to the show.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Move on.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Yeah, it's like it does it look fake, like we
actually like spend spend time in our house, Like we're
doing a pretty good job to fake it this far.
And it's like, yeah, so it's incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
You don't move state, you don't move halfway across the
country for a fake relationship.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
And the funny thing is it's often the people that
are saying that that haven't found love, and the people
that are in love are actually really supportive. So there's
a correlation between people that are happy and happy for
us and then people that maybe aren't that happy that
want to shed that negative delight on us.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Y's projection projection.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
And that's why I want to say to haters.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
And you know what, I'm honest when I say if
they're happy, I'm happy for them because regardless of everything,
every single person who played for this year's season was
looking for love to some extent as well as fame,
for it wasn't.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
All of that.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
So if love is what Jackie and Clint did end
up finding together, then great. That being said, every interview
has not gone quite as smoothly as that one with Pedestrian,
which is basically what happened when they appeared on Sydney
breakfast show Fitzy and Whipper. Now things did quite off
that wholesome as they joined the radio show, you know,
talking about their exciting news.

Speaker 7 (02:20):
And we have Jackie and Clint on the line.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Welcome you gus, Congratulations you're engaged.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Congratulations to your birthday, jack it is.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Yes, I have my dream come true of a birthdaid,
engagement and huge celebrations.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
But as Fitzy then Dead bring up Jackie's journey on
the show to get to this point with Clint, that's
when it all fell apart. Take a listen to this.

Speaker 7 (02:47):
Clinton wasn't the first one that you approached on the show.
You're obviously married to Ryan. But you did approach Jiff
and asked if you could catch up with Jeff, which
got re really upset. Then you often your fuck up.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
We came on this to speak about our engagement and
happy times, and we're getting a lot of BackFlash and
we're not in a position to talk about the show
right now. We're trying to leave it in the past
and we'd love to just move on to these are
the questions.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
No, but these are the questions because your temptation date
was the same Jake, you.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
Know, ask those questions on TikTok and so out of respect,
we were promised that this would be a happy interview,
and unfortunately, we want to share our love to people
who want to share in our love story with us,
and we're not here to talk about the past. You
can go on my TikTok if you like. Aren't you
next question?

Speaker 1 (03:38):
And then after whip I got the chat back on
track talking only about the engagement FITSI trade once again
to ask about her storylines on the show, and they
basically hung up.

Speaker 7 (03:48):
Jackie. I was disappointed with the way that you went
out with a bang in your final vows. I just
thought that the way that you spoke to Ryan, I
thought was really you spoke down to him, and I.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Just think you.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
There, Jackie, they've hang up, they've hang up.

Speaker 7 (04:08):
So when did you decide to take the good cop role?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
And you know what? The main issue here is, though
Jackie and Clint may want to go with this narrative
that everything prior to their engagement was raised the second
that ring was slipped onto her finger, which is fine,
if that's what they want to do. But if you're
gonna embrace your public profiles by doing radio like this
and media, you can't dictate what the media can and
can't talk to you about, because if you do wish

(04:33):
to now become a public figure, the media will ask
the questions that the public want to know, which is
exactly what FITSI did there. And I'm going to give
some advice here now, not just to Jackie and Clint,
but any of this year's cast that may be listening
if you do want to remain in the spotlight and
get on other reality shows and build some kind of
media career as a long lasting public figure. To do that,

(04:56):
you don't just have to appeal to the public, but
you also have to play the game a little bit,
like if someone asks you something that you personally don't
want to talk about, spin it into a positive with
your response, show a little bit of accountability, a little
bit of humility, and most of all, just be relatable
because people like you because you were a regular person

(05:16):
that went on a reality show. The best thing anyone
from married at First I can do is show that
they do not take themselves too seriously and can have
a laugh at themselves, because the second you go against
that and start dictating to the media what they can
and can't do, how people can speak to you, how
they can report on you, and you kind of present
yourself as this top tier talent like a Kim kaid Ashian,

(05:37):
it's not going to end well. So Jackie, if you
are listening, I really would enjoy it nothing more than
you ending up on I'm a celeb in the jungle
or something in your future as you are, as I've
said many times, reality television gold. But if you want
to last that long for opportunities like that to come
your way, you have to think long term and not
be burning too many bridges right now. And trust me

(05:59):
when I said, hey, this this week, every single cast member,
you may feel invincible, like this huge spotlight that's on
you will be on you forever. And your tiktoks are
getting millions of views and everyone wants to interview you,
stop you in the street for selfies. But trust me
when I say that will quickly fade away. And I'm
saying this is someone who's worked with celebrities of all
sizes in the UK and Australia, and I've seen this

(06:22):
happen time and time again. Anyway, over to the big
drama of the week now, and a single comment from
Clint hasn't just offended hundreds of thousands of people, but
it's also angered them to the point that it's spacked
this huge debate on classism that is unfolding across social media. Now,
you guys may recall that during the Reunion Dinner Party episode,

(06:44):
Clint made this comment when comparing his life and apparent
social status to that of Ryan's.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
You live in the Western Suburbs.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Let's not talk anymore.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
It's class the side guy there like, it's not. It's
you want to have a flex, I'll send you some
pictures because I'm not in the Western Suburbs in a
one bedroom shit house.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
And as expected, following that, the people of Western Sydney
were not happy with Adrian even posting this to his TikTok,
predicting what was to come me watching Clint say that
about Western Suburbs.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Brother, I'm from Sydney and that is not one area
you want to mess with, So good luck, bro.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
And of course the backlash then came and some people
were very angry.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Oh oh, I know, I didn't just because Western Sydney.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Do you know what I mean? Look look at his head?

Speaker 6 (07:38):
What veins all popping out?

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Now?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Don't don't, don't, don't get me passionate about the west Man.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
Now are we gonna sit Western Sydney.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
We're gonna let this run, That's all I'm saying. And
other people, despite being just as angry, we're a little
calmer with their responses.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Hello there, this one's actually for Clint Rice. I believe
his name is from Maths. Look, buddy, can you just
get in contact with me or contact my people and
they'll talk to your people. I'd love to organize maybe
around a golf you know, into your world for a
little bit. Then I'd love for you to come join
us in the Western suburbs that do will run it
straight and come join my world for a little bit,

(08:15):
you know, a little bit tip for tat. You know,
scratch my back, I scratch yours. Bit of hanging out time,
bit of bonding, you know, a couple of bras together.
I'm sure the Western suburbs would appreciate, you know, you
showing your face there since you've bagged me out on
life television.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
And then after that, debates were then started about the
property market in Australia.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Listen, not Clinton, you un educated idiot. I could literally
sell my home in the Western Suburbs and get five
houses down over in Tuzzy. In fact, I could even
sell my one bedroom unit in the Western Suburbs and
I'd still get more money than your house in Tuzzy.
I don't understand the stigma that if you live in
Western Sydney you're broke. A lot of us are fucking loaded.

(08:57):
We own our houses outright, and we can't justify paying
at thousand a week renting over in the Eastern Suburbs
if we don't own it.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
The issue with that comment from the Reunion isn't just
the arrogance and elitism that's attached to it. It's the
implication from Clint that he, as a rich white man,
sees himself as having a better social standing and being
above anybody who does live in Western Sydney, which anyone
from Sydney will know is the most multicultural and diverse
part of Sydney. And this is even now spick debate

(09:26):
surrounding racial microaggressions, as this type of discrimination is something
that has been prevalent for the people of Western Sydney
for a very very long time now, long before Clint
ever came along. But the problem for Clint now is
that even though his comments were nothing more than him
trying to belittle Ryan and prove he's the better catch
for Jackie, without any wider knowledge of Western Sydney, he's

(09:48):
accidentally started a discourse that is so much bigger than
him now that he's unfortunately seen as the instigator of.
And this isn't just me blowing this whole thing out
of proportion for the sake of a podcast like I.
They work with people from Western Sydney every day and
they are angry. Search it on any social media platform
that's anger there, like the comments section of news articles.

(10:11):
What Clint said again has just spacked this huge thing
that is so much bigger than him now. And I reckon, Clint,
if you're listening, I think you should come on record
somewhere somehow, an issue, an apology. So yeah,
