Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to the Mass Funny Podcast with
me Joshua Fox. A very quick update this morning, as
I have woken up to an inbox full of people
asking me why did Athena change her mind? What happened
next between them? And why did they then break up
for good? In real life? And as far as I
can tell from my brief chats with Athena before watching
last night's episode and my chats with on my various
(00:21):
other sneaky sauces in the Maths world, I am told
that Athena really was set on dumping Adrian and she
was adamant it was going to end for good at
the final of our ceremony, but then seeing him there
and you know, being back in his orbit, with him
standing in front of her smiling, she once again kind
of disregarded all the bad and only four of the
(00:43):
good times together, which is why she was in Like fuck,
is is this the right decision that we see in?
This is too black and white? Maybe let's go hang
out after this? And and look, I was disappointed watching that,
and we can judge Afina on that, But as I've
already said, let's remember the patterns of controlling behavior. Throughout
their relationship. Let's remember the manipulation from production, and let's
(01:04):
also remember kind of Athenas will feel sad to say,
but maybe lack of self worth or self confidence going
into the show while set on having a fairy tale
after you know, coming out of such a long term
relationship before that, and having no dating experience since breaking
up of a childhood sweet at I genuinely do believe
that all these factors did come into player last night
(01:25):
and were behind how Athena kind of backflipped and changed
her mind anyway to move on to happier news. As
far as I'm told, once they filmed last night's episode
back in November, and they then went and hung out
afterwards that evening they both pretty much knew it was
still never going to work, you know, with the distance
and everything else, and then walking off together was more
(01:45):
about just having another night or two back in their
bubble of when things were good and those good times
before Athena then flew back to path and it was
only then that they both kind of knew that's when
it's going to be officially over, which is apparently what
did happen then. As I'm told, once, Afena did make
it back to path. Things fizzled out quite quickly with
maybe Adrian. I don't know if i'd say ghost him,
(02:07):
but like maybe, you know, replying less and less and less,
And then Athena gradually just saw the lights again, and
with him no longer being around, she could actually move
on properly and realize their relationship was never the fairy
tale that she'd romanticized as. And lastly, before I wrap this,
if you're also wondering why Athena then agreed to meet
(02:27):
up with Adrian on Valentine's Day, if you remember that
video I took of her sneaking off from the girl's
lunch to kind of meet Adrian and you know, things
like that, despite her and Adrian being long over by
that point. I'm told this is because Athena still saw
the good in Adrian and she felt protective of him
when he was getting slammed so much in the media
and by fans. But ultimately, over time she realized, no,
(02:48):
I don't actually owe you nothing, and once saw Stephen
tells me that after a while, Athena for Adrian might
even be using her as some kind of damage controlled
pr movie, you know, to distract from the backlash she
was receiving. I'm fairly sure that everything I've said in
this little podcast is true in a roundabout way. The
actual specifics may vary a little, but this is pretty
(03:10):
much what I'm told by multiple people about how things
played out after final vows. Neither Athena or Adrian can
speak freely about any of this until next week, when
the show probably ends and they go do the usual
radio today's show circuit of interviews. So I suppose we'll
wait and see what happens then. Until then, have a
lovely day, and sorry for any background knows you heard
(03:32):
in this podcast. I'm recording this at six am in
my bedroom. The wind is howling outside, the rain is
battering against my window, and it all feels very bleak
and very accurate given the contents of this episode and
what we watched last night. Goodbye,
