(00:14):
If you are a business leaderlooking to foster a positive workplace
culture, enhance team effectiveness, and navigate challenges effectively
while focusing on strategic objectives,or if you simply want to make work work
better, then join us for a mini workshopwhere we share three things
you can do today.
I'm your host, Dr. Marc Reynolds.
Today we're going to talk abouthow to foster greater

(00:35):
creativity and innovation in yourselfand your teams.
Here's the problem.
Your team, your company,or you are in a rut.
You're feelingmore like a machine than a human.
You don't feel inspiredor motivated to grow and progress.
Your teams keep looking to 1
or 2 people to come up with solutionsand have the good ideas.
You or your employees believe

(00:57):
that you aren't a creative personor you aren't an innovator.
Think again.
Here are three things you can do today.
First ideaincubation sessions organize regular idea
incubation sessions where employees
from different departments come togetherto brainstorm and discuss new ideas.
These sessions can be informal, designed to encourage open, free

(01:18):
flowing conversation without the pressureof immediate implementation.
Use techniques like mind mapping, rapid prototyping, and creative exercises
to stimulate innovativethinking to foster culture creativity.
The executive should actively participate
in these sessions, showing a commitment to innovation.
I would suggest that the executive

(01:40):
have someone else facilitate this session.
Whether it's an outsideconsultant like myself,
or whether it's a team memberthat you trust to facilitate this.
That is more in the rankand file of the company,
so that you, as an executive,
can jump in and be shoulder to shoulderwith your employees

(02:03):
and for a momentnot have this hierarchy in place,
but where where you're all workingtogether to contribute ideas and innovate
that break down for a moment of thishierarchy of this pressure
is a really valuable tool.
Later on, when you need to reach out
to these different employeesfor their unique perspective and insight.

(02:26):
Second innovation time off.
Allocate specific times during the workweek, often referred to as innovation
time, where employees can work on passionprojects or explore
new ideasoutside of their regular responsibilities.
This concept, inspired by companieslike Google, encourages
employees to pursue innovative projectsthat interest them.

(02:47):
The executives should support thisby providing
resourcessuch as access to tools and materials,
by showcasing successful projectsto the broader organization.
Before initiating innovative time off.
It's worth having some workshopsor training sessions
to give people ideasof how to structure that time
or to use that time so it's productive, and not just a time

(03:11):
where time is wastedor not focused on this.
There's still needs to be accountability.
The third idea I have foryou today is to provide opportunities
for continuous learning and exposureto new ideas through workshops, courses
and conferencesfocused on creativity and innovation.
This can include inviting guestspeakers, organizing cross department

(03:32):
knowledge sharing sessions,
or offering subscriptions to onlinelearning platforms like Coursera or Udemy.
Encourage employees to share whatthey've been learning with their teams.
Foster culture of continuous improvementand creative thinking.
The executive can lead by example,by actively participating
in these learning opportunities andsharing their own insights and experience.

(03:53):
Be curious.
In our world today.
Curiosity is being beat out of people.
Creativity and innovation
is never been needed or valued more.
Take time to be creative, explore and find inspiration.
It doesn't come from nowhere.

(04:14):
It comes from finding different sourcesof inspiration,
knowledge, growth And finding new waysto think about the world around you.
If you'll implement these three ideas, you're going to start to foster
greater creativityand innovation in yourself and your teams.
We would love to come work with youand help you implement these ideas.
