Directed by Iain Softley and co-starring Gena Rowlands, John Hurt, and Peter Sarsgaard, the film was released by Universal Pictures in 2005. Once promoted as a prestige-tinged supernatural thriller, it has since faded from mainstream memory despite its striking atmosphere and a notorious twist ending.
