Kurt "Crowbar" Kangas has taken over the reins of the Bay Area's Artista Gang.
The Artista Gang was created by renowned artists Alton Kelley, Pat Ryan, and David Sheridan back in the late 70s. The thinking back then was to create a gang of artists and their friends. Throw unbelievable parties. And, what a great way to meet women... what? Way before the whole "Me Too" thing kicked in, at the height of what historians referred to as the sexual revolution/liberation era, the Artista threw some incredible parties. Yep, we're to blame (not really). But, interesting times...and the Artista Gang lives on.
Just some of the names of some of the Artista's members included Journey, the Grateful Dead, Norton Buffalo, Jerry Garcia (Kelley was an Artist for the Dead), Huey Lewis, Steve Miller Band, and just too many other celebs to include here.
