Lydia Laverton is speaking with her uncle the 10th Baron Elderly. He says "Well, I don't know. Yeah, I suppose we'll have to do something". Lydia says "You should sell out, Uncle, that's what". Baron says "Sell the estate? You can't be serious?" Lydia says "Of course I'm serious. You could get a couple of hundred thousand for this place, and live in comfort for the rest of your life". Baron says "Live in comfort? What's that got to do with it? We're talking about the Elderly Estate. This land's been in my family for three hundred years". Lydia says "Yes, it's beginning to look like it, Uncle, a run down, scruffy old place. Baron says "Of course, it's run down. It's difficult keep up like we did in the old days. Heaven knows I'm doing what I can to make ends meet". Lydia says "But it isn't enough is it?". Baron says "What do you expect me to do? I opened the castle to tourists who tramp in and out five days a week for three a head". Lydia says "Oh, I know you don't like having the public crawling all over the place". Baron says "It's better than your other suggestion, selling the estate. No, I can't do that. Never do that" Lydia says "No, instead you'll run yourself broke trying to make ends meet, then you'll die and the estate will have to be sold to pay debts". Baron says "Don't say that. No, the place will never be sold, never". Lydia asks "Alright then, what are you going to do?" Baron says "I suppose I could put a soda fountain in the stables". Lydia says "It wouldn't make any difference to the tourist trade". Baron says "Can you think of anything?" Lydia says "I was turning over one idea in my mind, it's a little unorthodox, but it might work". Baron says "Oh, don't just stand there girl. Let's have it".
