(06:48):
and kind of give an update on growth
and you can kind of update us onhow that all went for you and.
Amanda McCombs [08:10.028]
my goodness.
It was a crazy ride.
I kind of, so I'm pretty sure there's,some parts where I was on stage and
I just kind of was like there andI was focused on what I was doing.
And then I would go and sit behindthe curtain and be like, talked to me.
I need to breathe.
need to focus.
well, and you talked about learning from
failure, right?
And we wanted to talk about growth.
So I, obviously didn't win the pageant.
I didn't win any special awardsor anything, but I learned a
lot and I'm doing it again.
So at the end of March, I'mgoing to be back up there.
Like I like, I liked it enough and Iwasn't so scared that I wouldn't do it
again, but I learned so much about myself.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [08:42.527]
Yeah!
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [08:55.147]

they talk about, we talk a lotabout service and self-improvement
and things like that.
So it isn't just about likelooking pretty in a gown.

(08:16):
You have to be able to back it up.
Right.
is when, so like
and then, so like the scoring.
It's half of it is interview and youonly get four minutes with each judge
and it's like your speed dating.
[ 10:16.521]
Wow.
Amanda McCombs [ 10:17.342]
And it wasn't as scary as I thought it

It wasn't anything super crazy.
And then I actually,Chelsea Rasmussen won.
She, I think the second I satdown next to her, it was about
a year ago, Christmas time.

can just tell she's going to win.
What have I been doing here?
But she just, she immediatelycame down and sat next to me and
was just so kind and welcomed me.
And neither one of us haddone a pageant before.
So we bonded over that.

(09:41):
And a lot of us, even though we didn'twin, we went to Vegas in August and
that's when they did freaking Mrs.
America, like Miss Congeniality.
What the heck?
That was so cool.

I'm not like, forget the pecanos,
I went, I went to the,I did go to the pool.
I went to the pool and I did havea drink and I like hung out with

And you think like they have a little,so they have like the big piece there
and then they have like a little plaquethat says, this is where it came from.
And you zoom in and it's like thistiny, tiny little section of the ship.

(13:49):
So you get to see like how big it was.
Crazy huge.
that's how I would tear itup in Vegas too right now.
At this point in my life, soundsso, in bed by nine, I would be.
Amanda McCombs [15:14.914]
I know I'm such a nerd.
It was so good.
Well, and you think like when you dothe pageant, you have, there's like
a sleepover and it's really just ushaving like, we hang out and we have
snacks and we do a gift exchangeand they get us all matching pajamas
and we get like blankets and stuff.
But then we have the pageantthe next day and hair and makeup
starts at like 430 in the morning.

these girls are going to be competitiveor you think they're going to be.
I mean, I'm just pulling frommy experiences from high school
is like girls who are pretty aresometimes not nice to you and they're
competitive and they're catty.
Amanda McCombs [15:44.665]

So if there's anyone listeningthat's not married that wants
to do it, applications are open.

(15:39):
Come party with us.
But I've already done a lot ofreally cool service things just from
being signed up and networking withpeople that also want to go out and serve.
And I think a lot of us talk about how, like we just had a dinner altogether,
The

(16:02):
your why for doing the pageant?
And a lot of us talked about the communityand meeting each other and being able
to like have those people that you can.

Who would I?
Amanda McCombs [18:20.935]
Well, and it's not like competing.
It kind of is.
It kind of is.
It's just a title change.

I signed up because I was like, heck yes, I want to keep my title.
That's a hella cool title.
Even though initially I was like,

(17:25):
to me?
It's scary.
Ride The Wave
are scary.
Why are they paying attention to me?
Yep,
It's scary.
Ride
yep.
It sounds super fun untilit's everyone looking at you.
And then you're like,
yours.
I'll be Daybreak's local witch.
And we'll just ride that.
Amanda McCombs [19:01.911]
my gosh.

(17:46):
I to be this and
it.
Yeah!
Ride
turn it all on, right?
train
No, I think it's great.
You take the title of Mrs.
Daybreak, all you want, you'vegot it, you earned it, it's yours.
I'll be Daybreak's local witch.
And we'll just ride that.
Amanda McCombs [19:01.911]
my gosh.
Amanda McCombs [19:08.68]
Here's our life.
Amanda McCombs [19:16.719]
claimed it.
Yeah!
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [19:22.915]
train for as long as we can.

(18:08):
Amanda
my team.
Ride The Wave Media Podcast Network
Yes.
And when you talk about opportunitiesto serve, is something that, I mean,
I put so much on my plate this year.
my last year's been, I've been so excited
You know, when thinking about growthor how my last year's been, I've been
so excited to be doing this podcast.
It's been so fun.
But I think sometimes I've beenputting so much on my plate

(18:29):
McCombs [19:46.28]
that I'm like, yes to this andyes to this and yes to that.
And then all of a sudden I'm like,my gosh, I have no time for anything.
Including service, including like
Amanda McCombs [19:46.28]
Mm-hmm.
Amanda McCombs [19:55.261]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [19:56.848]
how can I get involved in mycommunity and help in some
way or offer something I have?
to look like, right?
Amanda McCombs [20:03.633]
Yeah.

(18:49):
you know, sometimes it takes like gettingto the point where you're like, wow, I'm
really burning out and I'm so busy andI'm so, I've got way too much on my plate.
And then you go, okay, nowit's time to pull back.
Now it's time to start emptying my plate.
And then I can fill it with what Ireally want it to look like, right?
Amanda

(19:09):
the nail scratch.
I quit my job.
Podcast Network [20:29.423]
Yeah!
Amanda McCombs [20:30.772]
I mean, I had to.
had, so I, I've beenreally sick and I've been
Network [20:29.423]
Yeah!
Amanda McCombs [20:30.772]
I mean, I had to.
had, so I, I've been really sick and I'vebeen doing lots, all kinds of doctor's
appointments and things like that.
And I just need, I neededto take time to heal.

(19:29):
Like at the beginning of the schoolyear, last year, my mom died.
And at the end of the school year,we put my dad on hospice and my world
just kind of got turned upside down.
That was after the pageant.
Yeah.
Ride The Wave Media PodcastNetwork [ 20:36.571]
Mm-hmm.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [21:00.539]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [21:00.868]
like by Christmas time by Thanksgivinglast year my dad wasn't my dad anymore

(19:51):
McCombs [21:00.868]
like by Christmas time by Thanksgivinglast year my dad wasn't my dad
but like
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [21:07.985]
I couldn't believe it when you weresaying what was going on with your
dad and after we'd already done ourinterview with like, this is all the
things that have happened to lastyear and I'm like, are you kidding me?
Really?
Now your dad, I was like,
McCombs
I'm sending it all your way.

(20:15):
you.
I heckin' it.
And like my...
so I still have problems withthis whole part of my face.
Like I can't really feel it becausethat's where I had my shingles.
So like my whole world just over thelast couple years has kind of been slowly
falling apart, but I think it's so thatthey can come together a different way.

(20:37):
And I'm learning to find my voiceand I'm like figuring out who I am
because part of being able to do...
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [21:42.212]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [22:00.104]
these opportunities, the service staff isnetworking and talking to other people.
Because maybe there isn't like away that you can serve right now.
Maybe it's not the right opportunity, but maybe there's something out there.

(20:59):
But it's okay to have to put yourenergy to other things because
that's needed elsewhere, right?
Like I
my mom
really
when she was sad was serving other people.
So when you're feelingdown, go help somebody else.

(21:22):
had
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [22:39.345]
Mmm.
Amanda McCombs [22:41.355]
I put a lot of that energyinto doing the pageant.
And so I think when I am able to go dothese things, like packing things, packing
bags for you, you the kids eat so thatkids can have meals over the weekend
or helping with donation drives or,

(21:42):
years
I think last year around Christmas we hadlike a, at the school, we just opened the
doors and we had a bunch of donations for.
local refugees because wehave a huge refugee population
I
had families come and get diapersand I had two whole frozen turkeys.

(22:04):
I was able to deliver a whole turkey mealto somebody and it wasn't like I wasn't
all over Facebook and all over socialmedia saying like look at what I'm doing
like I'm doing all this stuff like I wentand a lady had just it was Christmas Day.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [23:14.603]
Yes.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [23:19.023]
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [23:31.46]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [23:36.993]
I think Christmas day or Christmas Eve andshe had just gotten out of the hospital
and wasn't able to get Christmas giftsfor her family and I asked what her

(22:31):
family liked and I went and got stuff.
right opportunity, but maybethere's something out there.
But it's okay to have to put yourenergy to other things because
that's needed elsewhere, right?
and I, one of the things my mom
So I mean that's the kind like that's what
when I am able to go do these things, likepacking things, packing bags for you, you
holidays are to me and so I don'tdid we how did we talk about
my mom's house burning down?
The Wave Media Podcast Network [23:19.023]
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [23:31.46]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [23:36.993]
I think Christmas day or Christmas Eve andshe had just gotten out of the hospital
and wasn't able to get Christmas giftsfor her family and I asked what her
family liked and I went and got stuff.
So I mean that's the kind likethat's what holidays are to me and
so I don't did we how did we talkabout my mom's house burning down?
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [24:06.361]
Yeah, I think that
everything at the time that we talked.
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [24:06.938]
I think so.

(22:51):
everything like that you were going and
Yeah.
going through everythingat the time that we talked.
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [ 24:06.938]
McCombs [24:14.851]
Yeah, well, I'm like...
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [24:17.834]
We did talk a lot about your mom's message
We did talk a lot about your mom's messageof like her final words to you being
taking care of myself,
yourself.
And that's something that's been comingup a lot for me lately is I won't

(23:12):
have room to care for anyone else.
can't.
Well, it's like you bring up the holidays.
That's a really, really goodthing to highlight because for
most of us, especially moms, I'mjust going to put it out there.
Mom's listening.
Amanda McCombs [ 24:22.661]
taking care of myself, yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [24:45.329]
It usually falls on moms to makesure magic happens during Christmas

(23:34):
time that the gifts are there that
Amanda McCombs [24:51.376]
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [24:45.329]
It usually falls on moms to makesure magic happens during Christmas
time that the gifts are there that
Amanda McCombs [24:51.376]
Can you play a game on your phone?
Hold on just a second.
My little guy.
Here buddy.
That's my Ragnar.
Okay, go.
Ride The Wave Media PodcastNetwork [ 24:57.457]
Yeah, go ahead.
Amanda McCombs [25:06.225]
He has been dying to play.
You know the Kinder Eggs?
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [25:06.575]

(23:55):
I love you.
Ride The Wave Media Podcast
that off.
I still
they have like a little toyinside and you can scan it.
[ 25:17.221]
Yeah.
play on them.
I'm going take that off.
I still miss his daybreak.
Wave Media Podcast Network [25:24.849]
it does fall on the moms.
Ride The Wave Media Podcast

(24:17):
depressed around Christmas timebecause it's not a slow down
and relax like it should be.
Like the weather's getting colder, the nights are longer, and we're
supposed to be going into hibernationmode and we're combating that energy
with, gotta make sure the lights areup, the, you know, all the things.
Amanda McCombs [25:40.324]

(24:37):
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [25:52.236]
Everything's perfect and pretty.
Everybody gets what they want.
Ride The Wave
Everybody gets what they want.
Ride
is it magical?
Is there gonna be enough, you know, magic when they wake up Christmas
morning and they have what they askedfor or at least some of the things they
asked for, know, whatever you can do.
But it's like, when you get in thatmode and you're so focused on that

(24:57):
and you're not actually thinking aboutwhat do I need, you can't have the
time and energy to go pick up an extra.
Amanda McCombs [26:07.44]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [26:22.043]
turkey and dinner and go deliverthat to someone who needs it.
you know, so like sometimes it'sabout pulling back so that you can
be there in the ways that count orthe ways that like actually matter.

(25:20):
it magical?
Is there gonna be enough, you know, magic when they wake up Christmas

Right.
Amanda McCombs [26:25.882]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [26:35.962]
Yeah.
my goodness.
Yeah.
Well, and then like deciding notto go back this school year was
really, really hard because it'ssomething that I love to do.
I find teaching and being with kids sofulfilling and we have a great time,
but I like for my physical and mentalhealth, I couldn't do it anymore.
Yeah.

(25:41):
They're like, there was no,there was no way there it
and
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [26:57.062]
Yeah.
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [27:01.629]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [27:04.473]
I'm thankful that I'm in asituation where I'm able to do that.
And not everybody is able to, but like
really, really hardbecause it's something that
someone, my mom's houseburned down like holly.

(26:02):
The holidays are kind ofdepressing for me anyway.
great time, but I like for my
my mom still had Christmasdecorations up in her house.
was no, there
going through and going up, goingthrough the trailers and seeing what
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [27:10.716]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [27:28.048]
No.
Amanda McCombs [27:33.587]
is left because before she died, she diedabout six months after the house fire.

(26:25):
And she had gone through the rubbleto pull out, you know, what do you
grab when your house is burned down?
You just grab whatever you can.
Yeah.
Ride
it down and going through it and man.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [27:51.1]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [28:00.531]
There's all kinds of random stuff.

(26:46):
There's tons of Christmasdecorations, but like it's healing.
[ 27:01.629]
like I have to let it
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [28:13.244]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [28:14.589]
I
going through the trailers and seeing what
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [27:10.716]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [27:28.048]
No.
Amanda McCombs [27:33.587]
is left because before she died, she diedabout six months after the house fire.
And she had gone through the rubble to
I can't keep all this stuff.
And then, well, so the holidays, like we kind of changed how we
do the holidays at our house.

(27:08):
And we focus more on having anexperience that we can share together.
We don't talk about like thestuff that we're going to get.
Usually we go have an adventure.
Like last year we wentto the Oregon coast.
I was talking to my eight year old.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [28:18.898]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [28:41.99]
about what she wanted for Christmasand she said all she really

(27:28):
wanted was like everybody to havematching Christmas jammies and to
have Christmas morning together.
Amanda
It was so cute.
stuff.
There's tons of Christmasdecorations, but like it's healing.
But at the same time, like I have to let it
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [28:13.244]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [28:14.589]
I can't keep, I can't
they don't need all this stuff.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [29:00.414]
I
Usually we go have an adventure.
Like last year we wentto the Oregon coast.
I was talking to my eight year old.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [28:18.898]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [28:41.99]
about what she wanted for Christmasand she said all she really

It was so cute.
they don't need all this stuff.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [29:00.414]
I know.
you, we just did like we havekind of like another Christmas
in summer because all my kids
I know.
Because I will just tell you, wejust did like we have kind of like

(27:51):
another Christmas in summer becauseall my kids birthdays are in June.
So it's so it feels like, we got likeeverybody, you know, gifts and whatever.
And we did get things in summertimethat we thought they would like.
Yeah.
No things to ride around theneighborhood in and like, whatever.
And already they're like,

(28:12):
Amanda McCombs [29:03.486]
So.
Amanda McCombs [29:14.068]
Amanda McCombs [29:22.248]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [29:28.962]
I don't want that.
You can sell that.
I want to give it up.
I want something else.
And I'm like, yeah, not worth it.
Amanda McCombs [29:34.866]
Okay.
Well,
Podcast Network [29:28.962]
I don't want that.
You can sell that.
I want to give it up.
I want something else.
And I'm like, yeah, not worth it.
Amanda McCombs [29:34.866]
Okay.
Well, we kind of, so we just, wedon't wait for a holiday to get a toy.
mean, sometimes we'll use it
mean, sometimes we'll use it for a rewardor something, but if there's something

(28:32):
that we're wanting, we will get it.
And Christmas time, like we reallyfocus a lot with our family, at least on
being there for other people and looking
can.
serve, right?
at ways that we can.
serve, right?
Yeah.
I think that's a muchbetter memory builder and

(28:55):
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [30:05.293]
Yeah.
I
value builder for a family.
traditions can get stressful too.
Yeah.
Well, and traditionscan get stressful too.
Right?
Make sure you've moved that elf.
Does Santa have his cookies?
What are we putting in the stockings?
You have to go to all the...
I think that is so creepy.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [30:17.798]
Yes!
I know!
Right?
Make sure you've moved that elf.
Does Santa have his cookies?
What are we putting in the stockings?
We don't allow the elf in
go to all the...
I think that is so creepy.

(29:21):
The Wave Media Podcast Network [30:17.798]
Yes!
I know!
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [30:25.324]
my god.
We don't allow the elf in our house.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [30:31.944]
Yeah, I told the kids I workreally hard to ward our house from
elves, so I'm not inviting one in
Amanda McCombs [30:37.75]
Yeah, we're not like...
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [30:39.619]
I have certain
we
like we have a house gnome thattakes care of and protects our house
all throughout the year we givehim offerings of food and cookies
cookies and I'm like
and I'm like but he doesn't movearound or do anything we don't
touch him he just he sits there
there.
yeah and I'm like otherwise I'mnot letting the fey into our house

(29:45):
do you have any idea how trickythe fey are I'm not letting them
they are nuts.
just stays there.
Amanda
I've been so I have a, I go downrabbit holes every once in a while
and I get like sucked into podcasts
what is it called?
and I've been listening to this one.
am like, they have
what is it called?
and that's why we drink, but it's real.
I am like, they have been recording foryears and so I decided to go back to the

(30:10):
beginning and I love it because one ofthem does like a paranormal type story
and then the other one will do like,
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [31:14.048]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [31:34.282]
a true crime story
and like all kinds of
and they tell them to each other becauseone of them loves the one that loves true
crime does true crime and the other onethat loves paranormal does paranormal
and they talk about all kinds of stuffthey've talked about changelings and

(30:34):
what those freak me out and like allkinds of favings and aliens and anyway
they're fun to listen to but they talkeda lot about changelings and those scary
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [31:42.837]
Okay.
Yeah.
Exactly.
You don't want to get involved in all that
McCombs [ 32:05.747]
especially if something'ssupposed to move around by itself.
I don't like that.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [32:10.471]

(30:55):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [32:12.055]
Well, you're sleeping.
That's fine.
That's fine.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [32:16.929]
A little creepy.
Media Podcast Network [32:16.929]
A little creepy.
Well, I have the lastepisode of Practically Magic
that hasn't come out yet.
You haven't seen it, but we're talkingabout puppets and I have my puppets
do no harm, but
And puppets are, they can do noharm, but they are an invocation

(31:19):
of a spirit in a doll or doll-like
well and I
Amanda McCombs [32:29.015]
Power.
Amanda
when you were talking aboutnot feeling well and I
Amanda McCombs [32:29.015]
Power.
Amanda McCombs [32:40.055]
that's interesting.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [32:46.249]
you you were getting ready to go to Vegas, but you were not feeling well at the time.
And I, I'm like, I'mleaving for a pop pit.
Yes.
And I love it because I was like, she took it with her to Vegas.

(31:40):
Like you can.
Amanda McCombs [32:51.278]
Yes, you made me a friend.
Yeah!
Amanda McCombs [32:58.293]
It's still sitting on my dash!
Ride The Wave Media Podcast Network
It's still sitting on my dash!
they're supposed to be good.
They can do no harm.
They're just there for healing.
But if you ever want to giveher, they love trinkets.
So I always offer them little trinkets.
Mine has like little, there'sa little wooden love thing.

(32:04):
that's cute.
Yeah, the one you gave me, shouldhave grabbed the one you gave me.
It has the cute littlemermaid thing on it.
But so I drive a, I drive a Jeep andit sits up there with all my ducks.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [33:27.987]
I put over
Ride
just know she's kind oflike your travel spirit.
She's your, like you bring me withyou if you need me, kind of a healing

(32:27):
energy is what it's supposed to be.
It's
very
invoked and yeah,
Thank
going to do any kind oftricky stuff in the night.
Nothing like that.
Amanda McCombs [33:44.67]
Yes, very
Amanda McCombs [33:54.472]
yeah, no.
no.
No thanks.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [33:56.799]
Speaking of healing,
The Wave Media PodcastNetwork [ 33:56.799]
Speaking of healing, Amanda has agreed todo a little energy session with us today.
We're gonna just check.
So this is kind of a goodway to demonstrate Reiki
energy and how this works.
Amanda has agreed to do a littleenergy session with us today.
We're gonna just check.

(32:48):
So this is kind of a goodway to demonstrate Reiki
energy and how this works.
So I'm gonna introduce you for those ofyou who are watching on YouTube, because
if you're just listening, you won't beable to see, but I have Reiki Bear here.
So energy healers like ones that doReiki, we usually have something that can
Amanda McCombs [34:02.368]
yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [34:25.31]

(33:09):
act as a proxy for someonewho's not in the space.
So those clients are people thatare doing Reiki energy from a
distance over the phone or online.
I have Reiki Bear for my Reikiroom and I'm doing healing work.
So we're gonna have ReikiBear be a proxy for Amanda.

(33:32):
All right.
Amanda

So those clients are people thatare doing Reiki energy from a

I have Reiki Bear for my Reikiroom and I'm doing healing work.
So we're gonna have ReikiBear be a proxy for Amanda.
All right.
Amanda McCombs [34:49.666]
Is there any way thatI should have my body?
Wave Media Podcast Network [34:53.731]
No specific way.
mean, normally if I was doing afull session, I would be like,
lay on a bed, get comfortable.
So you're just as comfortable as can be.
Okay.
Amanda
where you're at now, I can use mypendulum and we're going to actually
measure your chakras or energy centers.

(33:54):
I prefer to call them.
the last
And we're just going to see
of
for how you're doing right now andany like energy work that you need
done to kind of help balance you.
Amanda McCombs [34:55.3]
Okay.
Amanda McCombs [35:01.452]
stay here.
Okay.
Amanda McCombs [35:11.423]
yay.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [35:23.997]
So we've talked about growth over the last
of like, what
months, all of the things thathave happened and you've been

(34:15):
through and you're going through.
And then this is gonna give us an ideaof like, what is it that you need now?
Like what is maybe off balanceor what might you need?
gonna
So we're gonna start with the, I'm gonnamove this here so that the camera can see.
We're starting with the roof.
Amanda McCombs [ 35:34.757]
roof.
Amanda McCombs [35:34.757]
man.

(34:35):
And so what we're looking for iswe need to see that the energy
centers are moving in a circle.
The
Wave Media Podcast Network
chakra is Sanskrit for wheel, soit's supposed to look like a wheel.
we need to see that the energycenters are moving in a circle.

If you can see on the

pretty good.
a nice neat circle.

(34:56):
So you're very grounded, right?
My hand is not moving, but the pendulumis moving and it's in a nice neat circle.
So you're very grounded, right?
That's good.
You're in a space right nowwhere you feel like I'm embodied.
I'm in my.
Amanda McCombs [36:20.667]
Yay.
Amanda McCombs [36:24.666]
Yes.
Please.
my body.

(35:17):
else is not.
Ride The Wave Media
[ 36:35.534]
someone else is not.
Ride
I love it.
Media Podcast Network [36:39.417]
I love it.
let's take a look at your sacral.
Amanda McCombs [36:47.164]
So we're going from the bottom up.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [36:49.337]
McCombs [36:47.164]
So we're going from the bottom up.
Ride The
Yes, that looks good.
that looks good.
Nice
Nice job.

(35:37):
Amanda
Nice and balanced
like I'm getting gold stars.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [36:59.155]
stars for you girl you are rockingit yeah a plus for root a plus for
chakra or for sacral chakra okaywe're gonna look at the solar plexus
Amanda McCombs [37:05.469]
Yeah!
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [37:17.996]
Okay, so this is where I wouldprobably say we need a little work.
If you were blocked in the solar plexus.
I want you to...
good question.
Yeah, so there'll be rightabove the belly button.
It's kind of the center of the body.
And the central chakra is the
you girl you are rocking ityeah a plus for root a plus
for chakra or for sacral chakra
of more
plexus
Amanda

(35:58):
your physical body.
where I would probablysay we need a little work.
If you were blocked
Mm-hmm.
Where is that on my body?
Is that like my belly button?
Amanda McCombs [37:36.263]
Okay.
Amanda McCombs [37:44.687]
Okay.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [37:47.223]
Yeah, right above the bellybutton, right in the center and.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [37:53.901]
This is kind of where likeyour personal power comes from,
Yeah, so there'll be rightabove the belly button.
It's kind of the center of the body.

(36:19):
And the central chakra is theheart, but this is kind of more like
the center of your physical body.
So...
Amanda McCombs [37:24.825]
Mm-hmm.
Where is that on my body?
Is that like my belly button?
Amanda McCombs [37:36.263]
Okay.
Amanda McCombs [37:44.687]
Okay.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [37:47.223]
Yeah, right above the bellybutton, right in the center and.
Ride The Wave Media PodcastNetwork [ 37:53.901]
This is kind of where like yourpersonal power comes from, like

(36:41):
where you feel the confidence,self-worth, strength, capability.
It is kind of more gearedtowards self-love than
like the flow of love,if that makes sense.
Yeah.

(37:01):
So we're gonna think of some affirmationsthat would help get that moving.
So we're gonna think of like,
Amanda McCombs [37:58.239]
Amanda McCombs [ 38:16.229]
Okay.
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [38:24.171]
You said, I am strong and capable.
Amanda
down.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [38:34.489]
McCombs [ 38:30.108]
yeah, I'm gonna write these down.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [38:34.489]
And you can kind of decidewhat resonates with you most.

(37:21):
So when they say these, if there'sone in particular that you're
like, that's what I need right now.
that's what I need right
Think about that.
Amanda
McCombs [38:47.368]
Okay.
Ride
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [38:47.993]
capable.
I like to use the word warrior.
use
I am a warrior goddess princess
princess
queen of the world.

(37:41):
Amanda McCombs [38:59.997]
Heck yes I am.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [39:02.018]
my gosh, that's already moving.
Hold on.
Let me start that again.
Ride The Wave Media
burning bright
It's also associated with a flame, ayellow flame or like the light of the sun.
So the more you can think about thatas like a burning bright yellow flame

(38:06):
into
and visualize that you'rejust invoking that energy into
your aura, into your body.
Ride The Wave Media Podcast Network
All right, let's try that.
Now sit.
I am strong and capable.
Amanda McCombs

(38:26):
right, let's try that.
Now sit.
I am strong and capable.
Amanda McCombs [39:38.529]
Okay.
Amanda McCombs [39:43.207]
I am strong and capable.
Ride
I know my self-worth.
Amanda McCombs [ 39:53.139]
I know my self worth.
Ride The Wave
[39:50.389]
I know my self-worth.
Amanda McCombs [39:53.139]
I know my self worth.
keep infusing that with yellow lights.
keep infusing that with yellow
Imagine it right in thecenter of your body.

(38:48):
center of your body.
Little
Little by little thependulum is moving now
now and it's moving
and it's moving in a circle
than back and
rather than back and forth, which is good.
that is what we want
So that is what we want to happen.
Yay.

(39:10):
Amanda McCombs [40:21.953]
Cool.
I'm still kind of figuringout, like finding my voice.
Like figuring out.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [40:26.582]
Yeah, let's do that.
Let's skip.
The Wave
We're going to go straight tothe throat chakra and check that
We're going to go straight to thethroat chakra and check that out.
Okay.
Amanda McCombs [40:35.073]
Whoo!
Ragnar, baby.
He's too
loud.
you close
Can you close the door or something?
Sorry.
He's so excited on
so excited on my phone.
Clearly.

(39:30):
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [40:38.069]
You
Amanda McCombs [40:51.496]
Okay
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [40:53.503]
So again, this is not moving right now, which means it's a little bit blocked.
It's moving because I moved it, but
Ride The
I want to experiment with affirmation.
Like I speak my truth.

(39:51):
Wave Media Podcast Network [40:53.503]
So again, this is not moving right now, which means it's a little bit blocked.
It's moving because I moved it, but Iwant to experiment with affirmation.
Like I speak my truth.
Amanda McCombs [41:01.303]
Yeah.
McCombs [41:01.303]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [41:08.402]
that.
I speak my truth.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [41:12.165]
My needs and wants deserve to be heard.
Media Podcast Network [41:12.165]
My needs and wants deserve to be heard.
Amanda McCombs [41:17.26]
My needs and wants deserve to be heard.
I think that one is really hard.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [41:25.205]
already it's moving
already it's moving
which is good you're

(40:11):
so it's not resisting that which is good
right you can feel
that I mean you can you can tell rightyou can feel the energy go I feel that I
connect with that that resonates with me
sky blue an aquamarine
so repeating that affirmation andthen visualizing the color of sky blue
Ride The Wave

(40:32):
an aquamarine or aturquoise color and just
Amanda McCombs [41:32.042]
Yeah
Amanda McCombs [41:36.437]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [41:40.094]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [41:54.057]
poking that into yourthroat, into your ears.
Amanda McCombs [41:54.38]
color.
want to invite.
That's what
when you're meditating or visualizingthat, that's what you want to invite.
That's what you wantto fill your cauldrons.
I like to use cauldrons becausethat's more of the Celtic come from

(40:55):
to them as
when you talk about chakras, butmost people know them as chakras.
So I kind of refer to them as both sopeople know what I'm talking about.
McCombs [42:15.773]
Amanda McCombs [42:22.351]
That makes sense.
fill your cauldron.
Fill all your cauldrons.
All right.
And then
Amanda
my first cauldron butI filled it with candy.
Ride The Wave Media Podcast Network
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [42:33.126]

(41:16):
I missed when Target had them.
They had a whole bunch oflike actual metal cauldrons
get me another cauldron.
Amanda McCombs
at Target and
I got one at Home Goods.
I gotta go to Home Goods.
I gotta get me another
Or wait,
[42:38.904]
Yeah, I got one at
no, was it Coles?
One of the two?
I can't remember.
I think it was Coles.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [42:50.598]
a plastic one for decorations, you know, this time of year, but I don't have

(41:38):
like an actual one that I really need.
Yeah.
I just have a
it's not
bowl that I use for my spells.
Amanda McCombs [42:56.344]
I love it.
Yeah, it's not real.
I think a lot of moms,
like me included, just
like me included, just kind of feel someshame when we are not getting our needs

(42:01):
met, but we're not willing to speak up.
[ 43:21.2]
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because we have to like hold ourselvestogether and do the things for everybody
else, make sure everyone else is okay.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [43:30.403]
Yep.
Throat chakra
Throat chakra is definitely one that
needs a little extra
I see a lot that needs a little extralove and care, especially for women.

(42:23):
I don't see it as often with men,but that's just my experience.
with that personal power aspect, it can
it's interesting because thesolar plexus, you know, with that
personal power aspect, it can lookvery different in men and women.
mean, men can walk around looking likethey have a lot of self-confidence.
Amanda McCombs [43:44.737]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [43:58.416]
And then when you are doing energywork with them, you realize that

(42:45):
it's all a mask and that they're
love when men get
in need of that.
So I love when men get a chance to,
normal and to
I don't know, break the barrier of whatthey think is normal and to try an energy
work session with me because then theyget to be like, wow, you really see me
and I'm allowed to be vulnerable and

(43:05):
healing work.
express my weaknesses and where I'mstruggling and get some healing work.
Amanda McCombs [44:03.993]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [44:14.678]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [44:27.502]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [44:28.846]
get that cleared, right?
Amanda McCombs
Yeah, well, we all have differentlove languages and things like that.
It's kind of hard to know whatsomebody else needs if they don't
[44:32.656]
Awesome!
Ride
know either.

(43:26):
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [44:32.656]
Awesome!
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [44:43.682]
Yeah, yeah.
And that's part of the work that Ido, especially when I'm doing energy
work with people is a lot of timesthey'll come and do a session and
they're like, my gosh, I didn't evenknow that was what was going on.
Like I knew I was strugglingor I knew there was something I
couldn't quite get what I needed.
And I kept running into theselike blocks or these patterns
that I kept falling into.
Amanda McCombs [44:50.201]
It's like,
Amanda McCombs [44:57.925]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [45:08.826]
But it isn't until you have a littlehelp, and that's all it really is.
mean, energy work or whatever, you you want to call what I do.
It's like, I'm not
of the work that I do, especiallywhen I'm doing energy work with
people is a lot of times they'll comeand do a session and they're like,
how
I didn't even know thatwas what was going on.
Like I knew I was strugglingor I knew there was something I
couldn't quite get what I needed.

(43:46):
And I kept running into theselike blocks or these patterns
that I kept falling into.
Amanda McCombs
journey.
it isn't until you have a littlehelp, and that's all it really is.
mean, energy work or whatever, you you want to call what I do.
It's like, I'm not here to be a guruand tell you how to live your life.
I'm just here to tell you, like, help you through your own

(44:07):
a
journey.
Yes, exactly.
So
I, my friend has some affirmationsthat she, like, I don't know
where she gets them from.
I should ask her becauseshe does my lashes.
I'm in her bathroom a lot, but shegets a dry erase marker and she
writes her affirmations on her mirror.

(44:30):
for.
Amanda McCombs [45:16.557]
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [45:23.526]
You're like a facilitator.
I, my friend has some affirmationsthat she, like, I don't know
where she gets them from.
I should ask her becauseshe does my lashes.
I'm in her bathroom a lot, but shegets a dry erase marker and she
writes her affirmations on her mirror.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [45:47.118]
I think that's an excellent idea.
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs
I might take one or both of these and
and my husband will be like,
my husband will be like, what the heck?
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [45:57.39]
And you know what I'll do?
I'll do what I do
you know what I'll do?
I'll do what I do for clientstypically after a session is I have
some lists of affirmations that arespecific to energy centers and I will

(44:51):
snap a photo of like, here's a list.
the yellow
recommend that and I just think.
Amanda McCombs [46:09.709]
thank you.
Amanda McCombs [46:17.745]
here.
Amanda McCombs [46:22.087]
Bye guys.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [46:25.812]
Even like eating foods or having thatcolor around is a really great way

(45:15):
to integrate that into your aura.
the turquoise.
Yep, the snow jewelry or whateverit is that you particularly like.
And that's where like crystalscan come into play too, as people
like to go, this feels like theone that's going to help me.
Amanda McCombs [46:35.097]
So the
I know I'm like looking to see whatI have I don't have any right now

(45:38):
Ride The Wave Media PodcastNetwork [ 46:56.064]
adore myself with stones andcrystals whenever possible.
Amanda McCombs [47:01.307]
I know I usually have like all kindsof things on my fingers but I've just
got my like my basic stuff nothinganyway that was really cool thank you

Okay, I
Yeah, and I am gonna start a newone again at the end of this course.

(48:12):
So with the group we have now, we'regonna have the six people that are
in that nice and intimate so wecan all get really close together.
And then when the six monthis up, I'm gonna start another
six months, one at the end.
So yeah.

guys should check them out.
It's very healing, very cool.
It's a very cool process.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [49:56.937]
Thank you.
Yeah, and I try to make surepeople know it's not an art class.
You're not
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [49:56.937]
Thank you.
Yeah, and
It's a healing class.
We're going through the cyclesof healing and cycles of the
full moon throughout six months.

(48:56):
It's gonna be a great thing.
This is my first time offeringit as a six month course.
I've done the workshops, obviously, but I
Well, and the main reason I bring it up isbecause part of it is journaling, right?
So I kind of want to put this in with that
McCombs
and track it and see, cause
Yeah.
Amanda McCombs [50:18.453]
do some journaling with it.

(49:16):
That'd be cool.
Ride
Yes.
And you may even see how some of thisplays out in our last session with what
affirmations did I need or when I wasreplacing energy from what I painted
out, what was it that I was in need of?
And then how has this lastweek been in coming into?
We're now going into the dark moon.

(49:37):
So we're going to talk a lotabout descending into the
darkness, into the shadow work,
Amanda McCombs [51:00.057]
can be kind of.
Yes.
Amanda McCombs [51:00.057]
It's dark and twisty.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [51:03.481]
But I love that it kind of coincideswith the phases of the moon so we
can kind of track how that feels.
Some people feel better duringthe dark part and that's when
they feel they're better.
So you never

(49:58):
Seclusion is kind of nice for me.
then I asked you a question.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [51:17.019]
Yeah, I get that.
Peopling is scary sometimes.
For
Ooh, maybe we should end this.
Sorry.
We did our whole thing andthen I asked you a question.
Ride
I know, but that's okay because noweveryone can hear how that's going to go.
I didn't want to mention you inthe course unless you wanted to

(50:18):
reveal that you were in the course.
That's up to you there.
So thank you for mentioning it.
But
McCombs
this is me signing off.
