So
Absolutely.
I'm excited to dive into that.
Well, we're going to start withpulling a card as we usually do.

(01:49):
We're going
YouTube,
to pull from today I have the CelticTarot deck from Christopher Hughes.
Kathy Poss [01:12.344]
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [01:30.558]
I'm a big fan of his.
He wrote the book Druidry.
He's head of the Anglesey Orderof Druids in Wales, which I
hope to be a part of someday.
It's kind of my long-termdream to be a druid.
And Nepal.

(02:11):
today I have pulled thecard the Six of Cauldrons,
Scotland.
And
in a traditional tarot deck, that's like the Six of Cups.
it.
We
so we're talking aboutemotional energy in this card.
the fields, little purple
I think, so I'm gonna lookat this if you can see, well,

(02:32):
I'm gonna try to pull it in.
There's little girl and this cauldronand there's more cauldrons in the
background on the stone monument.
I think that Scottish thistle that'sgrowing or that's inside of the
cauldron, they're handingeach other in this picture.
So if you watch on YouTube, you can see the image.

(02:54):
Kathy Poss [02:07.992]
Thank you guys.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [02:30.645]
But I normally the number six is Harmony.
And the Scottish thistle, justin a personal context of that,
it's a very invasive flower.
It's the national flower of Scotland.
And it was brought here to America.
And you've probably seen it.

(03:14):
We have it in Utah everywhere, like inthe fields, little purple spiky flowers.
And they're all over the mountains.
They're...
Kathy Poss [02:31.48]
Yes.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [02:59.21]
Yeah, they're pretty invasive.
mean, they kind of just take over.
Once they plant themselves somewhere, you're going to see thousands of
them grow, which I think to meis a real symbol of abundance.

(03:35):
So as we're talking about money today,we're going to talk about money.
I think this is a really hopefulcard for all of us because it's
just talking about like passing on.
We have an older person passingthis on to a younger person.
And I think it's kind of likecreating our own abundance in life.
Kathy Poss [03:13.549]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [03:26.41]
creating belief systems of abundanceand hopefully being able to pass

(03:57):
that on to future generations.
we're
Do you have
money today, we're goingto talk about money.
I think this is a really hopefulcard for all of us because it's
just talking about like passing on.
We have an older person passingthis on to a younger person.
And I think it's kind of likecreating our own abundance in life.
Kathy Poss [03:13.549]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [03:26.41]
creating belief systems of abundanceand hopefully being able to pass
that on to future generations.
Do you have any thoughts about
Kathy Poss [03:34.552]
I Yeah.
I love the thistle.
I I grew up in the East Coastand we have thistle everywhere.
I thought when I was growing up, Ithought that was, I mean, I'd pick them.
I thought they were justbeautiful flowers, right?
Yeah.
can be such
the thistle.

(04:18):
subject to talk about, but yet
in the
person's perspective, it's
we
a beautiful thing.
So,
I thought when I was growing up, Ithought that was, I mean, I'd pick them.
I thought they were justbeautiful flowers, right?
Many can be such a prickly subject totalk about, but yet from another person's
perspective, it's a beautiful thing.
So, yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [03:48.819]
Yeah.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [03:55.45]
No.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [04:02.065]
because I've heard it said, legend saysthat in Scotland it was a great flower
for them because it was so pricklyand they had footwear that was like

(04:39):
leathery and they were able to marchtheir armies through fields of the
thistle without harming their feet.
But then invading armies didn'thave that protection on their feet
and it helped protect Scotland.
So
Ride The Wave Media Podcast
can be beautiful canalso be a little prickly.
Kathy Poss [04:27.212]
Woo.
Kathy Poss
great flower for thembecause it was so prickly
and it actually can be to our benefit.

(05:00):
Kathy Poss
[ 04:34.952]
Absolutely.
Podcast Network [04:36.765]
Well, I'm going to dive into a story herethat I just, we're going to talk about
finances, wealth, money, prosperity.
And
did a money spell a
I actually just did a moneyspell a couple of weeks ago.
So for those of you listening, ifyou follow me on Instagram or TikTok,

(05:21):
I made a reel of my money spell.
why not?
I'm going
haven't, I haven't made a habit of doingthat very often, but I thought, why not?
I'm going to give this a try.
So.
I took a green candle, I cut an orangein half and I put cinnamon and basil on
top and then I wrapped a leaf with redstring around the candle and I wrote

(05:45):
money, how much money I wanted to attract, wrapped it on the candle and then I put
it in the orange and then I lit it andyou have to let it burn all the way down.
to be in October.
So I was
So.
Kathy Poss [05:23.106]
Mm-hmm.
Kathy Poss [05:31.926]
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [05:33.798]
It's not the end of October at thispoint where we're recording this.
So I'll have to give an update to see ifmy money shows up by the end of the month.

(06:08):
It was supposed to be in October.
So I was like, it's an October spell.
I'm like, let's give it a shot.
I've done things like this before.
And I have been able to manifestthe amount of money that I
put out into the universe.
So this is just anotherdifferent way of doing it.
And we'll see how it with it.
Kathy Poss [05:42.69]
Right.
Kathy Poss [05:55.81]
Right.
Kathy Poss [05:59.372]
love it.
I love it.
I love it.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [06:03.651]

(06:28):
Might want to try
Might want to try it, you know, ifyou see that working out for you.
Poss [06:05.558]
Yeah
Yeah.
So we've been hanging
out at the DBC for what, a year now.
Kathy Poss
Poss [06:19.298]
Yes, I know.
Time flies.
Yeah.
That's great.
Kathy Poss [06:19.298]
Yes, I know.
Time flies.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [06:21.669]
It was so wonderful to like haveso many different people with their

(06:50):
different areas of expertise just, you know, coming together and being
like, well, I do this and I do this.
But when you did your, it was thebusiness in bloom, I think, and
went and you did your presentation, kind of just showcasing what you do.
And
Media

(07:12):
yeah, finances, wealth, sure.
Kathy Poss [06:36.151]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [06:49.349]
It's great to help people with that.
And I've always been prettygood with money personally.
It's great to help people with that.
And I've always been prettygood with money personally.
I may not be the mostadvanced business-wise.
I'm still writing myexpenses on a piece of paper.
That's where I'm at right now.

(07:32):
No QuickBooks
That's where I'm at right now.
okay.
Absolutely.
No QuickBooks for...
Kathy Poss [06:56.216]
Wait.
Kathy Poss [07:05.624]
And
personal finances, personal as we say.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [07:13.613]

(08:11):
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I'm still doing it the oldfashioned way, but that right
now is all I really need.
And then when you did your presentation, you were talking a lot about
belief systems and talking aboutlike how we interact with money.
And I thought, wait a minute, this is a lot of the work that
I do in the healing world.
As far as when I'm doing emotionalprocessing with clients, I'm
helping them unblock things that
They don't even know theyhave in their subconscious.
And you can't manifest money or wealthor prosperity without kind of being
aware or unblocking what scarcitybeliefs you might be holding onto.
Can you speak a little bit about that?
Kathy Poss [07:45.034]
Great.
And you can't manifest money or wealthor prosperity without kind of being
aware or unblocking what scarcitybeliefs you might be holding onto.
Can you speak a little bit about that?
Kathy Poss [07:45.034]
Great.
Kathy Poss [07:59.512]
Absolutely, yeah.
mean, I love this, Courtney, becauseit's really meaningful to me because
diving into what blocked my own personaljourney has created so much in my life.
you know, I look at money personally is,know, money is just a tool and I don't...
really focus on myselfor my clients on numbers.
It's really how it makes you beable to create a life of purpose.
And so I always start there.
What is your purpose and your values?
And that's where I think thewellness community, that's where
we intersect because we're both,we're all saying the same thing.
You know, right?
mean, no matter where you are inyour wellness journey, I mean,
we're all wanting to just live alife where of joy, not in fear,
not in scarcity, but in abundance.
And in abundance can be, you know, adifferent meaning to everyone as well.
And so then when we go backand we say, okay, well,
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [08:58.929]
Yeah.
Kathy Poss [09:28.694]
I want to get here, what are thosemindsets that I have, one, probably
grown up with since I was really small.
So we have our moneystories in our role models.
And then that has created some behaviorsthat have been beneficial, but maybe also
you know, we need to look at andsee if, you know, certain behaviors
are blocking where we want togo in life with our finances.
And to me, that's incredibly importantbecause like I tell my clients,
there's a math way to do things.
Okay, you know, math is pretty objective.
You know, it's one plus one is two, right?
I mean, we can't reallyargue those things, but.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [10:14.584]
You
Kathy Poss [10:21.474]
But really what matters the most arebehaviors and how we feel towards it in
our attitudes and putting benchmarks orputting social norms that we may take on
ourselves is a lot of times a disservicebecause it just doesn't align with us.
And so we're kind of out there

(08:35):
because diving into what blockedmy own personal journey has
created so much in my life.
why isn't

(09:10):
start there.
What is your purpose and your values?
And that's where I think thewellness community, that's where
we intersect because we're both,we're all saying the same thing.
You know, right?
mean, no matter where you are inyour wellness journey, I mean,

(09:30):
we're all wanting to just live alife where of joy, not in fear,
not in scarcity, but in abundance.
And in abundance can be, you know, adifferent meaning to everyone as well.
And so then when we go backand we say, okay, well,

(09:54):
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [08:58.929]
Yeah.
Kathy Poss [09:28.694]
I want to get here,

(10:39):
Okay, you know, math is pretty objective.

towards it in our attitudes and
Yeah.

(11:05):
is a lot of times a disservicebecause it just doesn't align with us.
And so we're kind of out theregoing, why isn't this working?
Ride
Yeah.
Wave Media Podcast Network [10:47.453]
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kathy Poss [10:50.84]
It's really the heart of what I do.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [10:55.193]
And I did win that night of Businessin Bloom, the Go Giver book, which is
still sitting on my shelf along withmy long list of books I need to read.
So I'm like, I know how important it is.
I know it's gonna be a great read.
So I'm like, there it is.
I have a long way to go when it comes tomy own interaction with money and how...
Kathy Poss [11:03.245]
You
Kathy Poss [11:07.714]
Me too.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [11:21.833]
It's interesting in the healingworld how it is very similar
to other aspects of healing.
And I will be interviewing a fitnesscoach in a couple of weeks and
we'll talk a little bit about that.
But really in my world, there's nota lot of difference in what we're
healing within ourselves to beable to unblock what it is we want.
Whether it's like money or whetherit's losing weight and getting fit.
I don't know if you've...
Kathy Poss [11:45.034]
Great.
Kathy Poss [11:49.035]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [11:51.639]
sure you probably have at leastheard of it, the book Atomic Habits.
Kathy Poss [11:56.246]
yes, I use it all the time.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [11:59.173]
about it a lot with clients becauseI'm like, your subconscious is a jury
of, you know, 11 people who all thinkyou're not good enough, or they don't
deserve the money you'd like to have,or the prosperity and success you'd
like to have, or, or your fitnessgoals, you know, whatever that might be.
There's a jury in your subconscious.
And then there's one juror that
Kathy Poss [12:12.354]
ready.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [12:28.861]
does believe that you're worthyand that's the one that you're
hearing going, I want this so bad.
Like I want it and Ifeel it and I want it.
But how do you get that one juror toconvince the other 11 that you are worthy?
Like you're gonna be able to get this.
It's not enough to just say, okay,I want this much money so I'm
just gonna save this much money.
I'm just not gonna spend as much and
And I did win that night of Businessin Bloom, the Go Giver book, which is

(11:27):

I'm just not gonna spendas much and I'm gonna save.
Kathy Poss [12:57.942]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [12:58.396]
Sounds so simple.
Like you said, that's justnumbers, But doing it, that's
where you get stuck, right?
Kathy Poss [13:02.008]
That's numbers.
Yeah, it is.
But yeah.
Right.
yeah, doing
numbers.
Yeah, it is.
yourself why.
And in making sure that alignswith something you are so tied
into personally that I am willingto go, there's a balance, right?
I mean, there's a balance.
If I'm gonna save because I'mreally connected to this purpose
and who I am and my values, then itshould be pretty easy to say, I'm
gonna not do these other things.
I'm not gonna spend this money.
I'm gonna look at that behavior becauseI'm so connected with why I'm saving.
And we can go through all the, so many ofthose scenarios, but really just getting
really focused in andliving in a sense of joy.
And this is, and not just for the future.
You know, we think about thefuture so much, which is important.
I mean, I am, you know, in what I do.
We think about the future and I wanteveryone to be prepared for the future.
But for right now, you know,we can live this right now.
And that's really important because
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [14:28.7]
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kathy Poss [14:38.828]
You know, of my experiences I've gonethrough in the last six years, yeah,
you never know what tomorrow will be.
So it's important to, you know, get all

(13:39):
the doingness gets stuck because, you know, why are you saving?
You know, why?
And then go, go keep asking yourself why.
And in making sure that aligns with
start
I am willing to go,there's a balance, right?

(14:03):
I mean, there's a balance.
If I'm gonna save because I'mreally connected to this purpose
and who I am and my values, then itshould be pretty easy to say, I'm

I'm not gonna spend this money.

And this is, and not just for the future.
You know, we think about thefuture so much, which is important.
I mean, I am, you know, in what I do.

(14:50):
We think about the future and I wanteveryone to be prepared for the future.

Yeah,
And that's really important because
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [14:28.7]
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kathy Poss [14:38.828]
You know, of my experiences I've gonethrough in the last six years, yeah,

(15:13):
you never know what tomorrow will be.
So it's important to, youknow, get all that aligned and
start living your life now.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [14:57.82]

(15:47):
Yeah, and when you talk about livingin joy, I love that you've said
that because what I teach and what I
work with clients and you do too.
See, that's why I think, you know,you wouldn't call yourself a witch.
You wouldn't call yourself a healer, but people don't realize you probably
are more than you think you are.
Because what we're both doing, workthat we're doing is helping people
to resonate their whole body and mindand soul with the same vibrational
frequency, which is going to be more
Kathy Poss [15:08.578]
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Kathy Poss [15:21.248]
My kids do.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [15:36.58]
aligned with joy to match thefuture they're trying to attract.
So being able to manifest like, andI love that you keep saying the why,
figuring out the why, you helping coachpeople on that rather than the how,
because a lot of people, I mean, I'mguilty of it probably more than anybody.
It's just like my ownupbringing, my own, you know,
young child belief systemsthat come up, but it's like,
how am I going to get there?
I have this goal.
Now I need to figure out how.
And I have learned that thehow is so much less important
than I would have ever thought.
I thought you were supposed to make aplan and you were supposed to, you know,
outline all the steps to take and that itwould be this and this and this and this.
And really, you can't do any
work that we're doing is helping peopleto resonate their whole body and mind
and soul with the same vibrationalfrequency, which is going to be more
Kathy Poss [15:08.578]
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.

And really, you can't do any of thatwithout first resonating at the right
Kathy Poss [16:09.368]
Great.
Great.
Kathy Poss [16:18.806]

And I believe that, you know, personal finance really is, it's

(22:28):
really necessary in personal financebecause it really hasn't been there
necessary in personal finance because
for forever.
You know, it's not somethingwe normally would talk about.
like I've said, like, in previousepisodes, I've talked about, you know,

(22:50):
the way that I kind of describe it aslike, if our bodies and brains were
a computer, we've been downloadingsystems since we were in the womb.
Right.
So
When our neuro pathways start to bedeveloped, when we're a fetus, we
start developing these connections onhow to get these chemical needs met.

(23:10):
And so we've been developingthese for a long time.
Doesn't mean they always arecorrect or that they serve us.
So that's usually where I come into help people later is to go, okay,
something just isn't quite working right.
Right?
Like I thought this is how to get myneeds met and it's not getting my needs.
a lot of this relates to like, likeI've said, like, in previous episodes,
I've talked about, you know, theway that I kind of describe it as
like, if our bodies and brains werea computer, we've been downloading
systems since we were in the womb.
Right.
So
When our neuro pathways start to be

(23:31):

thoughts, leading to emotions.
And I think your six habitudesthat you talk about, I want people
to know that I am going to, shesent me like a PDF of those.
So I'm going to put those up on my blogwhen I do the blog post for this episode.

When I got into the field, I intofinancial coaching was because of
some significant changes in my life.
And that's, you know, a lot of times, you know, we're going to keep changing

Ride The Wave Media Podcast
Just as you were saying this, itjust occurred to me, because I was
looking at those six habitudes earlierand I didn't even think about it.
But when I teach people about those neuralpathways in their brain and like we're all
trained to get a chemical need met, that'show those neural pathways were created.

(28:23):
And you said like security, well, that's the dopamine element.
Those chemical needs ourbrain is trying to get.

Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [28:04.889]

judgment on how people do it becauseremember people do what they do
because they don't know any other way.
They're just trying to getthose chemical needs met.

(29:47):
And at some point in their childhood, probably before age eight, when their

(32:07):
have, you know, vertebrae, I have, youknow, pelvic issues or lower spine issues.
I will ask, you know, didyou grow up in poverty?
Because it is connected to theroot chakra, our ability to feel
safe and secure, rooted, grounded.
like we have a you know our our feet onthe ground and it's interesting because

(32:31):
the it's also very closely related tothe sacral chakra which affects our
relationships with others so when peopleand that's the color orange in my spell
that I mentioned earlier I put it inan orange sometimes money spells will
Kathy Poss [32:15.786]
Ugh.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [32:25.447]
correlate with the color orangeor the fruit orange because we're

(32:55):
helping to heal the sacral chakra.
And it's our creative center of our body.
But it can also, know, for us women,it kind of results in issues with
our reproductive organs, you know, people with endometriosis and things,
cysts and polyps in our ovariesand uterus and things like that.

(33:18):
So for men it could be
the prostate and things like thatthat they end up having issues with.
So I'm pointing that out forpeople that may be like, huh,
that's something too, you know.
But you did mention likegrowing up in poverty.
So we both have a little bitof experience in that realm.
And I truly believe that more so thanteaching people, children, whoever.

Kathy Poss [32:57.954]
Really.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [33:22.951]
the sort of spreadsheets and budgetingand although I think that's all very
important, I'm not saying we shouldn'tteach high school kids how to do
those kinds of things to go out intothe world and be adults, but I truly
believe, so I used to be a teacher inelementary school and we were in an

(34:09):
area of very low income demographic.
We were a title one schoolwith 100 % free and reduced
are free lunches and breakfastfor all the children.
And for those of you who speak educationlanguage, that's a very low income area.
This
is in Phoenix.

(34:29):
And I learned a lot frombeing a teacher there.
We as teachers, we had to kindof learn to speak the language.
And those of us who didn't grow up, Imean, we were very privileged even though
teachers don't make a whole lot of money.
Kathy Poss [33:54.466]
Right.
Kathy Poss [34:01.473]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [34:19.678]
We were still very privileged peopleand we didn't necessarily understand

(34:51):
or could relate to people who weregrowing up in generational poverty.
So we some deep dives and studies.
We read as a group, as a staff, read the language of poverty and did
like a book study on it together.
Learned a lot about that.
But it was interesting becausealthough we learned a lot about

that world, what that meant for people, what it was like to teach students
who were coming to school, you know, probably didn't sleep, probably
didn't eat, probably didn't knowwho was picking them up from school.
I mean, these kinds of things.
It helped in that aspect, but wetalked a lot about what do we do?

(35:37):
How do we help these children breakthose patterns or break from that
chain and help them be successful.
Because you hear about rare storieswhere students who came from those
backgrounds would, you know, be sodetermined and so ambitious and want to

(35:58):
learn that they were like, I'm graduatinghigh school, I'm going to college,
I'm doing this and I'm doing that.
But we didn't know as teachers howto create that, how to inspire that.
And it wasn't untilafter I finished teaching
Kathy Poss [35:42.262]
Right.
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [35:46.866]
that I started learning about thiswork that I do now and realize,
think, don't know what that is.

(36:20):
Our video just like had a moment.
Anyway, I realized that what Ithink that the missing bridge was
for those students was not, youknow, their IQ, their academics.
I believe it's emotional intelligence.
It's EQ more than anything.

(36:41):
And so you kind of talked about thatbecause you were talking about like
learning these habitudes about moneywould probably create success among
students rising out of poverty moreso than their academics, their grades.
At least that's what I believe.

(37:03):
What do you think aboutthat and your experience?

I was young then and I do believe thatthe work that we put into it and just
even doing that book study togetherand being like, we wanna relate with
these children in these families andbe able to relate to them in a way
that doesn't make them feel shame anddoesn't make them feel judged, right?

(41:12):
Like, because a lot of us kind offelt like, and I knew one of the
teachers I was teaching with, shereminded me of the teacher in...
that that movie was based on.
I heard
Freedom Riders where shegoes into that high school.
I mean, it's like rough area for firstday of teaching and she's wearing pearls.

Yeah, I mean, I'm sure he worked reallyhard for that book as well, so we can
give him the credit for that part.
But yeah.
So anyway, that's just oneof many that I like to do.
But there are a lot ofdifferent kind of cool herbs and
elements that you can add into.
Obviously, I mentioned the orange, the green candle, because green is
often associated with money beinggreenbacks, know, dollar bills.
Kathy Poss [45:03.8]
Thanks
Ride The Wave MediaPodcast Network [45:30.898]
If you want to incorporate colors intoyour spell, I never teach people that
there is a specific or certain way todo a spell or a prayer or manifesting
what is asking for what it is you want.
The most important thing I think isthat people believe in it and believe
because you have to have the will andbelieve that you deserve to have it.
And that that's reallythe most important part.
So.
I think whatever symbols andwhatever things you want to put
into your own spell, it's totally
anyway, that's just oneof many that I like to do.

If it's specific to you, like a memory youhave or a specific connection, personal

So I will post some of those and someideas there on my blog for people who
want to look those up and get some ideas.

And in my program, very, Idon't take on a lot of clients
because it really is a bootcamp.
And I really believe in coaching isn'tjust a one-off kind of situation, but we

(47:37):
need accountability and we need to really,
to really,
have that
have that connection,vulnerability, and trust.
And so
going on
I have that going on right now.
