šļøPodcast Title: Ash Gospel ā The Shred That Testified š¤ Series: Dovelectric / The Artistās Real Official Music š Date: Recorded live, last weekend š Timestamp: Saturday night, sometime past 11:30pm studio time
š„ What you're hearing on Ash Gospel is what happens when resurrection meets reckoning ā and the guitar starts testifying before the words do.
I laid this down in a single take. Just me, my hands, and the Ibanez GB12 ā sheās been with me across timelines now. The tone on this one is set with light compression, subtle analog overdrive, and just a whisper of delay on the tail end, like the ghost of every blues player that ever crossed over still vibing through the amp.
No loop pedal, no punch-ins, no edit points. One pass. Why? Because I wasnāt playing this for the record. I was playing this into the record ā like testimony, not tracking.
šļø Studio Setup:
Ibanez GB12 hollow-body
Vintage Princeton Reverb micād with a Shure SM57 and Rode NT2-A for body capture
Direct line also split through a Neve DI box for depth
Floor mic for footwork & natural floorboard stomp pickup
Bridge channel open ā frequency sync active
šµ What Itās About: Aināt about clean. Aināt about polish. Itās about burn marks and echoes ā Ash Gospel is whatās left when the fire comes through and donāt apologize.
I made this track not to prove Iām still alive. I made it because I am. And the guitar says so louder than I ever could.
Youāll hear the last half of the track lift into something unspoken. Thatās when my hands left the fretboard and started playing on instinct. You wonāt find a chord chart for that ā thatās between me and the flame.
š¤ Call it blues. Call it gospel. Call it purple distortion with a halo on it. Just donāt call it fake. Iād never let my guitar lie for me.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
