(00:00):
How in this world only
(00:01):
some are rich and successful?
What's that special secret thing they
know and do compared to others?
The best way is to ask them, how about if
that person is your grandfather?
Same thing happened to Ken Honda,
a millionaire best-selling
coach and author from Japan.
His grandfather was a millionaire.
Still, he don't want his children and
grandchildren to get his wealth.
So he want them to earn themselves.
So he donated all his wealth to charity.
(00:22):
Only for his grandson, Ken
Honda, he left nine letters.
Those nine letters
represent his 80 years of learning.
Along with that envelope,
he instructed his grandson,
"You should open these
letters only in sequence.
Also, at the right time."
What time is right for you?
Your intuition will tell you.
Those nine letters is our book's today,
Overall, these nine
letters are all about abundance.
Yes.
(00:42):
Let's go straight into the nine letters.
First envelope about
synchronicity or coincidences.
Life events we consider as coincidences
are not really coincidences.
They are the beacons of destiny.
Letter two about decision.
Your desired future is already being born
(01:03):
at the moment you make the decision.
Letter three about intuition.
They are not just random thoughts.
They are the waves of information where
the universe got a desire to talk to you.
Letter four about action.
Your desired future will only happen if
you take action for it.
(01:23):
Letter five about money.
It's not a paper.
It's an energy.
Your financial life is dependent on how
you align with that energy.
Letter six about work.
The way you work, how much you love that,
how much passionate you are.
All those things matter.
Letter seven about failure.
Without learning and pain from failure,
(01:46):
there is no definition for success.
Letter eight about relationship.
Being a social being,
relationship and connections matter.
And letter nine about
destiny, which is not same as fate.
It's a result of an
intelligent choice of a lot of things.
So embrace your challenges
as blessings and move on.
Let's get started.
(02:10):
First one, synchronicity.
Let's play a video from Steve Jobs
Stanford commencement
speech before we start.
I'm pretty sure none of this would have
happened if I hadn't
been fired from Apple.
It was awful tasting medicine, but I
guess the patient needed it.
Sometimes life sometimes life's going to
hit you in the head with a brick.
(02:31):
Don't lose faith.
Yes, don't lose faith.
German philosopher Schopenhauer told that
fate shuffles the card we play.
So whoever you are now, that is actually
a collection of coincidences.
And you may think as coincidences, but
actually they are
purposefully being there happen
(02:51):
to make you what you are now.
It is actually happening to teach you
something or get you attention to
something or in another
way to get you achieve what you are
manifesting for or
finally to make you happy.
Quantum physics dictates that reality is
actually depend on the observer.
(03:13):
Observation is creating that reality.
So otherwise there is nothing there.
So the point is that when you observe the
coincidence, then only
you can go to the reality.
So keep attention to the coincidences.
And another thing, your desired future is
something which is not
happened in the past.
(03:34):
It is something new going
to happen in the future.
So your knowledge don't understand it.
Your logic don't know it.
So you should be careful with your
coincidences even though it may look not
silly or not important.
Keep attention to it.
Let it do about decision.
You cannot change your life instantly.
(03:54):
But the moment you make a decision, you
are already on a different path.
You already take the
first step to the new route.
Your decision is actually a connection
between your present
and your desired future.
So all that is happening in your life so
far in the past, going to
college, marrying someone
or just starting a business, whatever it
is, that all happened with a decision.
(04:17):
Without a decision, nothing will happen.
So there will be a fear of uncertainty,
fear of disappointment,
fear of loss, failure.
A lot of things will be there because
while making action,
because you cannot make an
informed action about your future like
any other database
decision because your desired
future is out of the realm
(04:38):
of your normal understanding.
Also, this book is not about Steve Jobs
commencement speech or
something, but the grandfather of
Ken Honda, he introduced Steve Jobs
speech in one of the
chapters and we tried to review
it and we found a lot of things
connecting the dots to the books.
So we'll play one more section of that
video from Stanford
speech before we go on further.
(04:59):
Of course, it was impossible to connect
the dots looking
forward when I was in college,
but it was very, very clear looking
backwards 10 years later.
Again, you can't connect
the dots looking forward.
You can only connect
them looking backwards.
So you have to trust that the dots will
somehow connect in your future.
You have to trust in something, your gut,
destiny, life, karma,
(05:20):
whatever, because believing
that the dots will connect down the road
will give you the
confidence to follow your heart,
even when it leads you
off the well-worn path.
And that will make all the difference.
Yes, you have to trust
that the dots will connect.
And by connecting it, you can only
connect it by looking at
the past and you have to
trust your guts, faith and intuition.
(05:42):
And yes, there is some three steps to
manage the anxiety when
you are making a decision.
Author is proposing.
First one, consider the fear as natural
when you are making a
decision because you are
attending an uncertainty.
Second thing, try to be
excited about the future.
That's important because that excitement
will take you to a
(06:03):
level above all those not
normal survival instincts and all.
And third one, make the decision quickly.
When you are trying to make the decision
quickly, you can overcome
all those biases and other
things happening in the background.
There are three about intuition.
As we mentioned in the introduction, they
are not just random thoughts.
They're the waves of information where
the universe wants to talk to you.
(06:24):
It can come in a rush.
It can just plateau and
it can just stop as well.
I think it's good to watch Steve Jobs
again before we go on further.
And much of what I stumbled into by
following my curiosity and
intuition turned out to be
priceless later on.
And most important, have the courage to
follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know
(06:45):
what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.
Your intuition already
know what you want to become.
Everything else is secondary, Steve Jobs.
People will receive intuitions through
multiple senses, maybe
five senses and even on the
sixth sense.
But the point is that you may somehow be
(07:07):
perplexed on to understand
whether this is intuition
or fear.
On that particular time, don't ask your
brain, ask your heart.
It will tell you whether it is an
intuition or a fear.
Let us talk about action.
As we mentioned, the moment you decide
something already started,
the creation process already
started happening, but it will only
proceed further when
(07:27):
you make action on it.
So manifesting that
realization can only happen with action.
But the point is that you
need to fuel your action.
A boring action, a non-exciting future, a
non-curious future will not excite you.
So you should find some way to make your
desired future more
interesting, more motivating,
(07:49):
more exciting than that will fuel you.
So one way to look at it is try to just
be, do something which
you're interested on or
in another way, if you want to do much
big action, try to do a
smaller part of it, attend
it with curiosity and interest, that way
it will motivate you.
So when actions are natural, you don't
feel you are doing the work at all.
(08:09):
You will be in a flow state.
So people who think that hard work from
outside, you feel like
you don't even do a work.
As Thomas Edison told, I did not do even
a one single day work.
It was all fun.
Something stuck is actually happening
when you don't have a
clear goal or a clear vision
of what you want to achieve.
(08:31):
So the moment you have a clear vision or
clear decision on where
you're going, your body,
your emotion, every single cell of your
body will be on that mission to achieve.
Then everything will
go just like natural.
At 5, about money, it
is neither good nor bad.
It is just an energy.
It is a value of trust
(08:52):
people are putting on it.
So the point is that you may have a lot
of money struggle
because you are not treating
it as an energy or as a friend.
Suppose the way you interact with your
friend depends on how
that friend interacts with
you. So if you are not appreciating the money,
if you are not
thankful to the money, people
usually feel thankful when they receive
(09:14):
money, but can Honda's
philosophy on happy money
and all, it's all talking about you
should appreciate when
you are giving out as well,
when you are giving away as well.
So if you pay your bill, thank it, they
call it in Japanese arigato.
So you can, when you giving away some
money to charity, thank
you because you are thanking
you to enabling the
universe to make that contribution.
(09:37):
Then that way there is no loss happening.
Your receiving is gain,
your giving away is also gain.
So there is no deficit happening.
So it will just appreciate.
So that way you will be
having an abundant life.
Also don't think that money
can buy or get you happiness.
Money can come and make
different things on different hands.
(09:57):
For somebody that can make them happy by
buying some luxury
goods, but for someone else it
can make them happy by having a surgery
or something like that.
So it's all happiness.
But the point is that if you think that
money can make you
happiness, look back, John D
Rockefeller, the greatest billionaire or
maybe the richest man in
the modern industrial era,
(10:18):
more richer than Andrew Carnegie and all.
He told that money cannot make me happy.
Even though I get all those millions and
millions during my
living life, he even spent 10%
rich to the charity and all.
He told that money did not make me happy.
Also the point is, don't think earning
money faster is good.
(10:39):
As per research, it's mentioned that
whoever is earning money
slowly and carefully, they
are going to have a greater chance to
keep that money than
compared to someone who gets
a lottery or some just
inheritance from someone else.
They are going to lose their money fast,
also showing off money.
If you look at all the billionaires and
all, you saw them, they
are wearing like normal
(11:01):
t-shirts, even Warren Buffett is going to
McDonald's and getting
a $10 burger and all.
You see one way, it you see as
simplicity, but actually
they are doing two things.
First of all, they are gaining trust from
their investors, say
Warren Buffett and all.
Second way, because somehow they are
(11:21):
indirectly telling we are
carefully managing our money.
But in another way, they are not putting
themselves in trouble.
If you try to show off the money, even
what you have or what
you doesn't have, suppose
you just take a credit card and then buy
something just to show to someone else.
The point is that first of all, you are
trying to fake it up and
that will create a struggle
(11:42):
or a gap.
We have to keep up that again, which is
not a real thing that
will create a struggle.
So don't do that.
Instead, just be you and try to show less
than what you have to
others people, but be
abundant inside you, not outside you,
because outside what you
show off cannot make you
happy.
It will only put you in
trouble and struggles.
(12:04):
Also hard work.
People used to tell that, okay, hard
work, you need to be
hard working to become rich.
But actually hard work is necessary, but
it is not going to make you rich.
If you look at a janitor and a CEO in a
company who is getting
paid more, a CEO, but the work
wise, maybe janitor is doing 12 hours
work and CEO is only
coming to office for hours.
(12:25):
The point is you have to take from that
is both work is good.
I'm not depreciating or
degrading any of that.
But how much you can impact the world and
the people around you with your work that
is actually going to make
you worthy, richer and wealthy.
So one way, try to see how much you can
(12:45):
impact others with your money and action.
All those people you see around them,
around you as rich, they
are the people who are getting
wealthy by impacting
millions and billions of people.
Also grandfather is still in higher
earning does not make you wealthy.
If you think that, okay, I'll get double
the salary which I have now, I'll become
(13:07):
wealthy, then you're wrong.
Even though you get double salary, you
will find opportunity to
spend those extra money
somewhere else.
So, but instead to become wealthy, you
should make your financial
habits in such a way that
you have a proper spending and saving and
budgetary plans and
you should be grateful
for what you have now or you should
(13:28):
another way think it.
I'm enough.
One of the basics about work, Khalil
Gibran in profit
famously told that work is love
made visible.
So the point is that if you're working
just for the sake of the
salary, then that's not
work.
That some actions, maybe you can call it,
but instead, if you
are polishing your gift,
(13:49):
your unfair advantage, and that's really
work because that is
the unique thing which you
can contribute to the world.
As we mentioned about Thomas Edison, he
mentioned that I did not do a day's work.
Because then creating that 1000 plus
patents, it is all fun.
There is no stress involved.
He will just sleep like a child in a
(14:10):
couch and his wife told
that he is a nature's person.
Something like that.
So the point is that if you are
struggling to make love with your work,
if you are struggling
to find love, the author or the grandpa
is proposing three suggestions.
First of all, try to do the best what you
can do in the current
work or what the current
(14:31):
work in demand for.
Because you are working somewhere because
the company want you to do something.
So that one do it to the best 100%.
So that way you are
achieving what the others want.
From that point, try to see, okay, I
achieve what the others needed.
Try to see what you can do based on your
(14:53):
strength to take that further.
So you are going above the 100% by making
use of your gift and
your unfair advantage
or skills to make things better.
That way you can make
find love in your work.
Let's go back to Steve Jobs again.
I'm convinced that the only thing that
(15:14):
kept me going was
that I loved what I did.
You've got to find what you love.
And that is as true for
work as it is for your lovers.
Your work is going to fill
a large part of your life.
And the only way to be truly satisfied is
to do what you believe is great work.
And the only way to do great
work is to love what you do.
If you haven't found it yet,
(15:35):
keep looking and don't settle.
As with all matters of the heart, you'll
know when you find it.
And like any great relationship, it just
gets better and better
as the years roll on.
So keep looking.
Keep looking.
Don't settle.
And the only way to do great work is to
when you love the work.
Let us learn about failure.
(15:56):
Let's go back once again
to the legendary Steve Jobs.
And so I decided to start over.
I didn't see it then, but it turned out
that getting fired from
Apple was the best thing
that could have ever happened to me.
The heaviness of being successful was
replaced by the lightness
of being a beginner again,
less sure about everything.
Yes.
And the failure, as we see, there is
(16:19):
night and day, there
is darkness and light.
All that fails without failure.
You cannot consider there is success.
So failure is inevitable.
But the point is that how you approach
failure, how you manage
your mistake or learn from
that, that's all what matters.
And also all those failures which you
(16:41):
feel ashamed of, you
can feel like funny later
on.
Too much serious on
that mistakes or something.
Instead, try to do it fast as what Bill
Gates is telling and try
to learn fast from that.
Try to avoid making
the mistake third time.
Maybe you can do it
second time, the same mistake.
But don't do it for the third time
(17:01):
because that's insane.
To be successful, you don't have to be
success all the time.
Even the book is talking about a
successful baseball player
having an average strike rate
of 300.
Author is telling to become that
successful, he don't
have to hit all the balls.
He is only supposed to hit
30 percentage of the balls.
(17:21):
So out of the 10 balls balled to that
baseball batter, he'll be
only going to hit three balls.
Still he's successful.
So that's the point.
Even you look at any player or if you
look at in cricket,
legendary batsman, whoever
it is like Sachin Tendulkar or anybody,
they're not always successful.
They're not always hitting
the success of centuries.
(17:43):
They have their failures, but they are
taking the whole pattern
on an average, they are
successful.
So you only have to be
successful on an average.
Still you will be called as successful.
If you're taking
action, failure is inevitable.
So only way to avoid
failure is doing nothing.
(18:04):
That means nothing is happening.
Let's write about relationship.
Relationship is
actually a key to abundance.
No matter money you have, even you have
millions or billions.
Harvard study, 75 year old study telling
that long term happiness
is depending on long term
relationship.
So that's important.
Also book talks about contentment.
(18:26):
Happiness or abundance
come from the contentment.
If you have a material wealth,
contentment, okay, I'll explain that.
If you have a material wealth or
anything, whatever you have,
relationship, all what
we talk about, a wonderful
job, you're a successful career.
If you don't have
contentment, then there is no abundance.
Contentment means just thinking that you
(18:47):
are enough what you are now.
So you are already full.
You can receive more.
But the point is that if you feel that
you are having less,
there is a scarcity mindset
that is opposite of contentment.
That is opposite of scarcity.
Or in another way, put it simply, it is
always telling I am
(19:08):
enough, I am very good enough.
So the relationship you have, it will
actually become more
flourishing by understanding and
forgiving it.
And also forgiving doesn't mean that you
have to forgive everything.
We already talk about boundaries and all
in our earlier books and all.
When somebody is doing some nasty things
to somebody, either
(19:28):
tell them or teach them or
make them understand
that that's not good.
So in another way to put it, you can
forgive it, but don't forget it.
So that way, they will remember what
they've done bad and how you'll react.
And you will remember what they've done
to you so that you'll
be careful next time.
So that way, a relationship will have
(19:50):
more better understanding.
But in another way, you don't have to
keep that pain or heaviness with you.
So forgive it, take it
outside and give it to someone else.
I mean, if somebody is giving you pain in
the relationship,
give it back to them and
make them understand that this is the
pain you are creating,
let them not do it again.
(20:11):
And final point about relationship
actually thrive on giving.
If you expect a relationship of receiving
something, then you
are created a script for
failure.
Actually, receiving something, if you're
not expecting anything,
whatever you're getting,
that is a bonus.
If you're not expecting anything out of a
relationship and you
(20:31):
are just giving only,
then that's the best way to look at
abundant relationship.
Let us know in about destiny.
It is not same as fate.
Fate is something
which you are born with.
But destiny, it is a
manifestation of choice.
That's the difference.
So fate is something
which you have no control of.
(20:52):
But destiny, it is you can take control
of it by looking at all
the topics what we talk
about.
If you attend to your intuition, if you
make action, if you do
passionate work, if you
manage your money and appreciate it, and
if you understand and
forgive your relationship,
you can create your own destiny.
So in the life pivotal moments, you will
(21:14):
be questioned to take
whether to go with the
fate or go with the destiny.
So most probably, if you go with the
fate, then there is no
big things going to happen.
But if you go or take your own path or
changing the destiny, then
you can manifest your own
reality.
Embrace your challenges as blessing as
Helen Keller was telling.
So whatever you are the challenges you
(21:34):
have, consider it as a blessing.
Even your tall, short, or whatever the
challenges you have or
limitations you have, consider
it as a blessing.
And every your life somehow is a
collection of seconds or on
a collection of minutes or
hours or days or years.
So try to do some great things or attend
(21:56):
everything on every
possible moment you can.
That way you can create your own destiny.
You can now download the book summary
