This episode of the Ravens Vail Coven Podcast was written and performed by Master Storyteller Nate Smith during Appalachian HorrorFest 2023 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The story, titled “Dark Katrina,” centers on a young fiddler named Fiddlin’ Jack, who becomes enchanted by a mysterious woman named Dark Katrina. Set in the Appalachian Mountains, Jack’s musical talent catches Katrina’s attention. As Jack hunts a she-wolf, he uncovers Katrina’s true nature and ultimately joins her in a magical transformation. Together, they embark on a new life on the farm after the sheriff’s passing. This tale beautifully intertwines themes of love, magic, and the untamed spirit of nature.
