When you’re out of practice, it can be hard to bring yourself to get back into the flow of practicing and singing again.
Chances are, you’re in your head about what your voice will sound like, dreading the judgment you’ll face from yourself when you open your mouth to sing for the first time in a long time.
Before you even think about which vocal warm up exercises to use or which vocalises to start with, you’re stuck in the paralysis of self-doubt, judgment, and perfectionism ~ leading to procrastination and resistance and avoidance.
You want singing to FEEL good… but when your voice is rusty, it doesn’t. It doesn’t feel good. It feels sluggish and clunky. But beating yourself up about it doesn’t feel good either.
So if it's been awhile since you last sang and you want to get back into it ~ but without all the negative mind chatter ~ here are 5 truths to remember as you start singing again, so you can walk into your practice session with a clear mind and an open heart.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
