Disidentification is a key element in the psychosynthesis process toward inner freedom. The Founder of Psychosynthesis, Italian Psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli said: "We are dominated by everything with which we identify. We are able to dominate, direct, and use everything from which we dis-identify." How this is related to coaching?
Disidentification gives us the ability to perceive contents from a different perspective, stopping the automatic process of seeing things from the viewpoint of a subpersonality and getting out of its comfort zone. This different mental state opens us to a growth mindset and enables us to tap into potential that was not previously accessible.
