Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
“Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign; A virgin will conceive, and give birth to a Son, and will call Him Emmanuel, which means God with us." This prophecy from Isaiah 7 came hundreds of years before Jesus stepped foot on earth. God promised that He Himself would come to be with us. And the truth is, if Jesus never had come, we would still be dead in our sins. We would have no way to come before an all-holy God and expect to get into heaven. The Bible says clearly, "For the wages of sin is death..." But praise be to God, He had a plan. He loved us so much that He humbled Himself, took on flesh, and dwelt among us. Emmanuel. Who lived the perfect life that we couldn't, took our sins upon Himself, and died with them on the cross. Now, He offers the free gift of eternal life to anyone who puts their trust in Him.
