Newness in Repentance

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone’s in Christ, he is a new creation…” And this is exactly what happened in Sam’s life. But, really, the story starts a Christian named Pete in Australia. Pete received a text from his pastor’s wife asking if he would speak with an ex-inmate facing difficult challenges in his life. Well, when they met, Sam was transparent about the many struggles and hardships that he was facing, including his hatred of those of a certain religion. Well, Pete quickly turned the conversation to spiritual matters and shared the Gospel with Sam. And with tears in his eyes, Sam accepted Jesus as his Savior and confessed that he had planned to hurt people at a local place of worship. But now, his hatred melted away as he realized that he was a sinner and that Jesus paid the debt for his sin. He repented of his plan and turned to Jesus. Hallelujah!
