Prayer is God’s Plan

You know, we often say at Evangelism Explosion that witnessing without prayer is presumption. Before we ever start looking for opportunities to share the Gospel, we should be coming before God, asking for His guidance and wisdom. Jesus Himself told us in John 15, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Elisabeth Elliot said, "Prayer lays hold of God's plan and becomes the link between his will and its accomplishment on earth." And you know what the Bible says is part of God's will for our lives? It's that we would be bold witnesses and share with others what Christ has done for them. So let me challenge you: start praying for your friends and family that you’ll see over the holidays and watch God orchestrate ways you can start spiritual conversations and then share the Gospel with them.
