Join us for an intense, hilarious and eye-opening episode of Showtime with Golden Tate as Golden sits down with Jovon Quarles, also known as DSQ, a former Navy SEAL instructor and Special Forces DS, to talk about the grueling world of SEAL training and the mental toughness it takes to survive.

Golden and DSQ take a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the selection program and the moments that pushed them to their limits. DSQ breaks down what really goes on behind the scenes, from the brutal physical tests to the psychological battles that separate those who make it from those who don’t. They dive into the infamous “beehive” exercise, the reality of interrogation training, and the mindset required to push through extreme adversity.

As the conversation unfolds, Golden shares his own experiences with resilience and how his journey as an athlete has shaped his understanding of leadership and mental toughness. He opens up about the role of family as motivation, the different leadership styles he encountered, and the lessons he took away from his time in the program.

This episode isn’t just about elite military training—it’s about what it truly takes to face fear, overcome failure, and break through personal barriers. Don’t miss this powerful discussion on resilience, determination, and the strength of the human spirit.

About Jovon Quarles:

Jovon is now a retired Navy SEAL whose life and journey serve as an inspiring testament to resilience, determination, and triumph over adversity. Born and raised between Washington DC and North Carolina, Jovon overcame significant challenges in his upbringing to emerge as a symbol of unwavering strength and achievement. Raised by his grandparents due to his mother's struggles with substance abuse and without knowing his father, Jovon witnessed firsthand the harsh realities of violence in the NE side of DC during his formative years. However, driven by an innate hunger for more in life, he relocated with his grandmother to North Carolina to get away from the city life and discovered a passion for athletics that would lay the foundation for his future success. Poor, desperate and even became a teenage parent I was up against a cycle in history where becoming a statistic was easier than creating a life of abundance I still pushed forward. Determined to create a different life for his children.
