Shame. Fear. Ridicule. Condemnation.
How many single parents face the same? Was the woman caught in adultery a single parent? We don't know, but we do know she faced what many single parents have.
Picture the scene...The Pharisees want Jesus gone and will use any means to get rid of Him. This includes grabbing a woman caught in the act of adultery and throwing her at His feet to publicly shame and condemn her and trap Him.
But Jesus does not condemn her.
Eventually, the Pharisees leave and only Jesus and the woman remain. Then He faces her with the words, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."
Now it is up to the woman to not only sin no more, but to also live in the shame of sin no more, to live in condemnation, especially self-condemnation, no more.
This is your task too: Sin no more and live free of condemnation, especially live free of self-condemnation.
God Bless...
