tools at our agency, SproutSocial and Trello, both of which
we swear by for stayingorganized and maximizing
(01:57):
efficiency. Plus, we've got anaffiliate link for you in the
show notes, if you want to checkthem out. By the way, before we
jump into today's episode, I'vegot a quick and exciting update
to share. If you've been herefor a while, you might remember
us as claiming social media, butas our business has grown and
evolved, so has our vision. Soand with that, we're officially
(02:18):
reintroducing ourselves askuliana Connect. This rebrand
for us is more than just a newname. It's a reflection of what
we truly value, showing up withintention, building real
relationships online andhonoring the kuliana, which is
the Hawaiian value ofresponsibility, and that
responsibility is what we feelto serve our clients with heart
(02:40):
integrity and purpose. So whatcan you expect now? Well,
honestly, more of what youalready love for me here at
Social Media Marketing for SmallBusinesses, we're still helping
service based pros grow theirbusiness through high touch,
human first engagement, but nowwith even deeper roots in our
mission and a name that reflectsit, and many upcoming episodes
(03:01):
will also reflect thatintention. We believe that
marketing shouldn't feel like agrind, right? It should feel
like connection, and we're hereto make that happen for our
clients. So if you hear memention Juliana, connect from
now on, just know it's still us,just more aligned, more
intentional and more committedthan ever to helping you grow
your brand without burning out.All right, without further ado,
(03:24):
guys, let's dive in and let'sfigure out together the best
free and paid social media toolsto help you save hours every
single week. As you guys alreadyknow, pointing out the obvious
consistency is key for reallyany type of success, but
especially for success on socialmedia. But that doesn't mean
that you have to be online. 24/7
(03:46):
I found this freedom in my ownbusiness after years and years
of just feeling like I had toshow up all the time when people
were on to make sure that peoplesaw me and saw the value that my
business had. However, nowadays, there are so many geniuses out
there putting their headstogether, and they're creating
amazing scheduling tools thatallow us to plan our posts in
(04:08):
advance and free up our time. Sosome of my top picks that I'm
just going to make sure Ispotlight right away, and it's
going to be a little mixture offree and paid. It just depends
on how much investment that youhave. But first and foremost,
you really can't go wrong withFacebook or meta business suite,
right? Especially if you're onthe platforms of Facebook and
(04:29):
Instagram, there is so much thatyou can do just by going behind
the scenes. You can schedule. You can even use their AI
platforms to dream up with yousome captions. You can make sure
that you put it into times andhours that your audience is
going to be on most which isactually something that meta
offers to you for free. You canalso, if you're wanting to
(04:50):
invest and have something that'seven more tech savvy, it makes
it even more easy, and it'sgoing to help you dive into your
audience's insights and kind ofget in their head a little bit
more. More, I couldn't suggestSprout Social even more, because
our favorite for multi platform, scheduling, engagement, tracking
and analytics is all in oneright there? One of our favorite
(05:11):
features there is they havesomething called the Smart
inbox, so it's a way to trackall of your DMS, your comments,
basically all your engagement inone place, so you're not having
to sign in and out of yourTiktok, and then your YouTube,
and then your Instagram and yourFacebook and your Pinterest.
It's all there in one place. Andyou can even use tags to track
it all. And it kind of functionsa little bit as a CRM so as a
(05:35):
way to track your customer, track their habits. You know the
relationship that you have withthem, and it really is an all in
one kind of a tool. A bonus foryou guys would be Canvas content
planner. Did you know that inCanva there's a content planner?
Yeah, there's even an optionwhere you can directly post from
Canva. So it's really amazing ifyou're creating content in
Canva. Anyways, you shouldreally check them out. So
(05:58):
immediately, I want to give youguys a time saving tip, right,
so that you're not scrambling tolike post every single day. You
never want to post, right? Youknow, the same moment that
you're creating content, it justis really distracting, and it
keeps you out of the moment thatyou're in. And it probably will
be a little bit of a lacklusterpost, because you haven't gotten
a chance to actually look at itand think about the messaging
(06:21):
and even knowing if youraudience is there. So to see a
time, I want to encourage you toschedule a week of content in
one sitting. So you sit down. It's very methodical, it's very
intentional, and it has strategybehind it. And now, besides just
scheduling a week of content, you also want to make sure that
it's captivating in some way andin some sense. And so creating
(06:44):
eye catching content, it doesn'trequire a graphic design degree
like it may be used to. Thereare so many tools that you can
use that create high qualityposts and videos and graphics
that really make you look like asuperstar and what know what
you're doing. So again, wealready talked about Canva.
What's amazing is a lot ofpeople don't know there's a lot
of incredible things you can usein Canva with the free version.
(07:07):
Now, of course, some of the morebranding features and building a
branding template, and some ofthe fancier features are going
to be for a paid account, but ifyou want something just really
simple and basic, they've gotreally great options for
graphics, building reels, building stories, carousels and
all of that. And a quick littlefree tip, by the way, if you are
(07:27):
a teacher, even if you're ahomeschooling, say, Mom or Dad,
you can actually get Canva forfree. Check it out. You just
have to submit your teachingcredentials, and you'll get a
year for free, another tool thatwe personally use, and are
really big out there. If you'renot aware how people get really
cool transitions and edits ontheir videos, they're probably
using something like cap cut. It's a simple yet powerful video
(07:49):
editing tool that's reallyamazing for reels and especially
tiktoks. Now, capcut has acompetitor now, because just as
of this week, Instagram launchedtheir own editing app called
edits, and I haven't used ityet, but I am all about new
technology and to see how theycompare. So I'm going to check
it out. And also, bonus, it isfree, you can also check out
(08:11):
some of our old other socialmedia marketing managers that we
know have recommended in shot tome. Personally, I've never used
it, but some people love it forespecially those like quick
video edits or adding texttrimming clips, it pretty much
does the same thing that cap cutdoes, but it depends on who you
are. It's a little bit more userfriendly. So all I can say is,
hey, go for it and check it out.So a time saving tip here would
(08:34):
be to create content templatesin Canva to reuse for future
posts. So this is going to do acouple things. It's really going
to obviously save time. It'sgoing to save you stress from
trying to refine that sametemplate in Canva, and it's
going to make sure that it keepsyour branding consistent, right?
And so there's nothing more Ithink, esthetically appeasing
(08:54):
than when you go on someone'saccount, especially a business,
and you see that they lookprofessional. And where does
that professional edge comefrom? Well, it's using the same
fonts and the same colors andjust the same look and feel. And
a great way to do that is to setyour things up in Canva. Now
some of the best tools forengagement, engagement and
social listening. And if you'renot aware of social listening,
(09:17):
it's a relatively newer term outthere in social media marketing,
but it's basically likesomeone's eyes and ears, like a
fly on the wall to youraudience. And so it's AI
software that listens out thereand basically studies and
reports back to you what yourideal audience is saying out
(09:37):
there and how they'reinteracting online. So again,
this is another amazing, amazingway that we love to use Sprout
Social because they have asocial listening add on that you
can put in keywords or aspecific type of audiences, and
it reports back to us exactlywhat those people are listening
to, what they're talking about. You know? It tells us what's
(09:59):
trending. In our niche. And it'sso amazing because it cuts
through all the guesswork, andit tells you exactly what kind
of content, basically to producebased on stats, based on
analytics and answers. Andultimately, if you want to grow
on social media, if you want tomake sure that your business is
seen and heard, you have toengage. You have to interact
with your audience. So insteadof spending hours manually
(10:22):
searching for say conversations, these tools will help you stay
on top of engagementefficiently. So I mentioned
Sprout Social. Another servicewe've heard of that works really
well is brand 24 so that's whatthe number two for. It is paid,
but it's a great alternative fortracking say your brand mentions
keywords and competitoractivity. So that's, again,
(10:42):
another great social listeningoption. And you can also just
save time now, where I'm not ahuge proponent of this being the
best relationship and trustbuilding tool, you can use like
a feature like Instagram savedreplies. It is free, and if you
get the same DMS frequently, youcan save responses to reply
(11:02):
faster, but I really onlyencourage that, and I don't want
to say a case of desperation, but really in something that you
use to start a conversation, notto continue a conversation,
because this is something that alot of people are using, and I
think consumers are becomingjust more skeptical, and there's
nothing that will turn peopleoff more than if they feel like
(11:23):
they're talking with a computeror it's just a bot. So keep that
in mind sometimes quicker andeasier is not always better,
especially when you want tobuild long term relationships
with your audience online thatultimately, ideally are going to
become clients. A time savingtip here would be to set aside
two engagement sessions per day.So first time saving tip in the
(11:45):
beginning of the episode, it wasset aside a time each week to
schedule your entire weeks ofcontent. So that's more of a
weekly thing, a weekly block oftime, and then a daily block of
time twice a day, set aside twodifferent times, morning and
afternoon. And truly, this canbe five to 10 minutes, and then
use these tools to streamlinethe process. Now, I know many
(12:05):
people out there, especiallyrunning a business, are all
about them, numbers, right? Whoout there are numbers? People?
Raise your hand. Okay. I can'tsee you, but I feel you. Okay.
Tracking your social mediaresults is crucial. Like it
shouldn't even be an option. Itneeds to be something that's
mandatory. You don't want towaste time on strategies that
aren't working for you. So a fewtools that can help you monitor
(12:29):
what's working and what's not.Again, back to Instagram and
Facebook. They have insights. It's totally free. They give you
the basic analytics, like onreach, engagement, audience,
demographics. It's also a greatway, if you're interested in
doing ads, that's a great way tosee who to point your ads to
Sprout Social back to ourfavorite right. They provide in
(12:51):
depth analytics and reportingacross all your platforms in one
place at the end of the week, when we send our clients a
weekly report, so they can seehow we're doing, but ultimately,
how they're doing. We can givethem 27 different reports, like
we can go really deep and reallywide. It depends on what numbers
you're looking at specifically. So Sprout Social really allows
(13:11):
you to, instead of going broad,to get really deep. And it's
ultimately, it's what we use atkuliana. Connect. A time saving
tip here would be to review youranalytics weekly. So again, say
you set up your content to besomething you schedule, and you
spend time to do at thebeginning a week of the week,
maybe Sunday or Monday, and thenon a Friday, I would suggest
(13:33):
reviewing your analytics so thenyou can adjust your strategy and
you want to focus on contentthat performs best, because I've
learned this the hard way is I'msomeone I like to be super
planned out. I am such a blocktimer like I would love to prep
all my content for months inadvance, and there have been
times I have the only downsideabout that is that if what
you're doing isn't working,you're ultimately wasting a lot
(13:55):
of time and energy creatingcontent that's actually not
serving you because it's notserving your audience. So you
really want to make sure youlook at those nine look at those
numbers and adjust your strategyaccordingly. All right, guys,
we're down to the last tip, thelast tools and these ones are
perhaps the most important, because it's all about staying
organized and planning content, right? So if your current social
(14:18):
media strategy feels all overthe place. Chances are you
probably need a system. So thisis where your product management
tools are going to come in. Ourtop pick is totally Trello. I
had a fellow agency owner. Shedoes podcast marketing agency.
She recommended Trello, and I'mso happy she did. We personally
use this for content planning, tracking, engagement strategies,
(14:41):
organizing client campaigns. We've also had it be like a
workflow tracking for our team,so we make sure we're all on the
same page so communicationsacross the board, and we don't
have things fall through thecracks. So it's really a game
changer for keeping everythingin one place and for everyone on
the team to see it. If you'rejuggling multiple platforms,
(15:02):
Trello is really something thatcan help you visually, like, get
it out of your head, get it outof your hands, on your phone,
and help you visually map out, say, your content calendar or
your workflow. I mean, this issomething you can use for your
social media, but you can alsouse for just your business,
whatever it is. So if you'recurious, if you're interested,
please let us know, because wehave an affiliate link in the
(15:23):
show notes if you want to try itout. Now, after I've shared with
you guys all these tools, right, that you can use to save hours a
week, perhaps you're stillfeeling overwhelmed, right?
Perhaps you're still feelinglike, oh my gosh, how am I going

hair out. It's time to let ustake the heavy lifting off your
