On top of this, Martin was the founder and chair of Ulster's first LGBTQ+ GAA team, Belfast Frontrunners, The Lagan Mermaids and Ulsters LGBTQIA+ Sports Day. He has worked with and supported most of the LGBTQ+ Sports teams in Ireland and works with many of the NGB's and political parties to improve rights and access to mental and physical health services in Ireland.
