Yampa Valley Autism Program (YVAP):

Established in 2002, YVAP is dedicated to providing resources and direct services to individuals and families affected by autism and other developmental disorders in the Yampa Valley region. The organization's mission is to cultivate the abilities of neurodiverse individuals and enhance their quality of life. YVAP offers a comprehensive range of services, including individual Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, social skills group therapy, educational support, work-readiness training, and community partnerships. These programs are designed to address the social, emotional, educational, and vocational needs of neurodivergent youth aged 3-21. 

Heidi Mendisco – Executive Director:

As the Executive Director of YVAP, Heidi Mendisco brings extensive experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Her leadership focuses on expanding the organization's reach and ensuring that families in the Yampa Valley have access to essential evaluations and services locally. Heidi's commitment to the community is evident in her efforts to provide comprehensive support to neurodivergent individuals and their families. ​

Jessica Charpentier – Therapy Director:

Jessica Charpentier serves as the Therapy Director at YVAP. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Jessica's background in elementary education and behavior analysis enables her to lead therapy programs that emphasize positive reinforcement, kindness, and respect for differences. Her approach aims to empower children and youth by teaching essential skills that promote independence and well-being.
