Episode 30 - Canada’s nickname has been the great white north for as long as I can remember. The country is no stranger to snowstorms or ice. Some of these storms can cause schools and workplaces to shut down or even vehicles to slip off roads and highways. But some storms are worse than others. Much worse. Heading back in time to January of 1977, there was one such storm that hit Southern Ontario and Western New York so hard it put them into a state of emergency, and they were shut down due to its severity. Thousands of people were stranded, and some would even lose their lives. How did this storm happen, why was it so devastating, and could it happen again?
