En konsultationssygeplejerske kan ofte være portvagten mellem borgeren og sygehuset. Det er et stort ansvar og ifølge Susanne Malmstrøm kræver jobbet, at man kender sine faglige begrænsninger. Hun har været ansat i næsten 25 år den samme praksis i Roskilde, hvor hun også selv bor, og fortæller om sin vej til almen praksis, hvordan jobbet har udviklet sig over tid og hendes tanker om at gå på pension.
I år er det 125 år siden, at Dansk Sygeplejeråd i 1899 blev oprettet som en standsforening af en gruppe københavnske sygeplejersker. Det fejrer vi på Sygeplejersken med podcastserien ’Proud to be a nurse’.
