Maria Brudsø betegner sig selv som fagnørd med stort F. I gymnasiet var hun en ørn til fysik, matematik og kemi og drømte om at blive elektrofysiker. Men i sit sabbatår kom hun pludselig på andre tanker og valgte at søge ind på sygeplejerskeuddannelsen. Efter flere lærerige praktikker i akutmodtagelser, savnede hun at arbejde med grundlæggende sygepleje. Det vidste hun, hun kunne komme til i neurologien, hvor hun har arbejdet siden, hun blev færdiguddannet i 2015 – de seneste to år som klinisk sygeplejespecialist, hvor hun for alvor får lov til at fagnørde.
I år er det 125 år siden, at Dansk Sygeplejeråd i 1899 blev oprettet som en standsforening af en gruppe københavnske sygeplejersker. Det fejrer vi på Sygeplejersken med podcastserien ’Proud to be a nurse’.
