As believers in the family of God, we have a spiritual obligation to look out for one another—when we're wrong and when we move righteously. (repeat this)

The Bible explains how the love amongst the brethren not only covers, it confronts. We have to be ready to continue loving each in either situation. We don't join the world in tearing down the church when our idol worship is admonished.

The church carries the light of the gospel. If we put the light out, darkness wins, and our work for the Kingdom of God here on Earth is all in vain.

(00:10):
Welcome to the Barber Cast podcast.
I am your host,
Naomi Kay.
Thank you for listening.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount,
the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron and said unto him up,
make us gods which shall go before us.
For as for this Moses,
the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt,

(00:32):
we want not what has become of him.
And Aaron said unto them,
break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives,
of your sons and of your daughters and bring them onto me.
And all of the people break off the golden earrings which were in their ears and bought them unto Aaron.
And he received them at their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool after he made it a molten calf.

(00:55):
And they said these be thy God,
oh Israel,
which brought the up out of the land of Egypt.
And when Aaron saw it,
he built an altar before it and Aaron made proclamation and said tomorrow is a feast day to the Lord and they rose up early in the tomorrow and offered burnt offerings and bought peace offerings.
And the people sat down to eat and to drink and rose up to play.

(01:19):
And the Lord said unto Moses,
go get thee down for thy people which thou brought us out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.
And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted,
he said unto Moses,
there is a noise of war in the camp and he said,
it is not the voice of them that shout for mastery.
Neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome?

(01:43):
But the noise of them that sing.
Do I hear my boys and I went shopping at one of the local fresh markets.
A couple weeks ago,
we pulled into the parking lot and noticed a customer pulling out of a parking space that was close to the door immediately.
I put on my blinker to let the other patrons behind me know that I planned on taking the space.

(02:06):
Well,
as we waited for the customer to back out of the parking space,
another vehicle pulled into the parking lot from the opposite direction.
The car drove close to the spot that we were waiting on and the driver looked as if he was going to try to take the parking spot.
Well,
the customer,
we were waiting on,
pulled out of the space and I quickly drove into the parking spot as it turns out,

(02:30):
the other customer noticed my blinker at the last minute and moved to another spot.
However,
as I whipped into the parking space,
I jokingly said,
oh,
you aren't about to muscle me for this spot or there's about to be a throw down in this parking lot.
Then I giggled a little bit.
Well,
my boys must have missed a joke because they immediately unstrapped their seat belts and were ready to cover me in battle.

(02:55):
My middle baby said,
oh,
it'll be more than a throw down mom.
My oldest chimed in and said,
yeah,
consider it a complete annihilation.
And my youngest son threw in his two cents with because nobody messes with our mom.
I was shocked and honored at the same time when daddy told them to look out for mommy and to protect her,

(03:17):
those boys weren't just listening.
They were readying their hearts and their minds.
Now,
of course,
I let them in on the joke and reiterated the consequences of violence.
I also reminded them of the importance of walking away and following peace with all men as we are commanded to do in the Bible.
However,

(03:38):
that moment reminded me of something my mother taught me and my siblings when we were Children.
As I mentioned before,
I spent part of my childhood growing up in the projects,
rough projects.
I'm talking about the type of project community where gangs from rival project communities would visit our complex and perform unlawful acts and vice versa.

(04:01):
Well to keep us safe.
My mom taught us the rule of when one person goes down,
we all go down.
That means when one family member stands up against a bully,
the entire family stands up against that bully.
There's no such thing as a fair fight.
When an aggressor comes to attack or hurt someone in the family,

(04:22):
we are living in a critical time in the body of Christ.
When the aggressor,
the enemy is attacking the body of Christ from all sides because he knows that the savior is soon to return.
His attacks are no longer just calculated and subliminal.
They're resting explicitly in the noise,

(04:42):
the static like frequency that drowns out all other noise,
coercing the listener into a state of sleep,
spiritual sleep.
Let me explain what I mean by that.
The Bible says in Exodus 32 that the Children of Israel grew restless,
waiting on Moses to return from communion with God on the mountain.

(05:02):
They gathered themselves together and went to Aaron begging him to make them a physical God to serve Moses was their proxy to the God who brought them out of the land of Egypt.
But because he was gone too long,
the Children of Israel fell back into their rebellious selfish ways and without hesitation at the request of the Israelites,

(05:24):
Aaron gathered all the gold jewelry from the people and turned it into a molten calf.
The Children of Israel made that calf,
their God and bestowed honor upon it by giving the calf credit for what the God of Israel had done for them.
The next day,
they offered burnt offerings to the calf to symbolize their complete commitment and surrender to it as their God.

(05:47):
Then they celebrated the Bible says that God heard the celebration and saw what the Children of Israel had done and told Moses to get down from the mountain and go and correct the behavior immediately before he destroys all of them.
Well,
long story short,
Moses pulls on the mercy of God to halt his wrath against Israel.

(06:09):
He and Joshua made their way down the mountain with the 10 commandments.
But on the way down,
the Bible says that Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted,
he told Moses there's the sound of war in the camp.
Moses said it's not the sound of victory or defeat.
I hear singing Moses heard worship,

(06:32):
the sound of war coming from the camp sounded a lot like white noise.
White noise is a constant noise.
That is the combination of all frequencies found in the spectrum of sound heard in equal parts.
Some medical professionals refer to it as broadcast noise.

(06:54):
White noise is used to help people stay in the state of sleep for a desired period of time by output frequencies that drown out other sounds.
For example,
if you put two people in a field and make them sing simultaneously,
your brain is intelligent enough to distinguish one or both of the voices.

(07:16):
However,
if you put 2000 people in the same field and make them sing simultaneously,
the brain won't recognize one single voice.
Instead,
the brain registers the sound as something melodious or rewarding,
causing the pleasure center in the brain to release dopamine,
which encourages sleep.

(07:39):
Now,
white noise isn't a bad thing.
The problem is where the frequency or the sound of the white noise originates.
It's also important to know that the intensity of those frequencies in the white noise create a false equilibrium for a period of time.
Equilibrium is the state in which opposing forces or influences reach a balance.

(08:05):
Let me say that again.
It's important to know that the intensity of the frequencies in the white noise create a false equilibrium for a period of time and equilibrium is the state in which opposing forces or opposing influences reach a balance,

(08:26):
a false balance.
Earlier,
I told you that the attacks of the enemy are no longer just calculated and subliminal.
They are explicit and they are resting explicitly in the white noise.
The static like sound that drowns out all other noises,
coercing the listener into a state of sleep.

(08:50):
White noise in the body of Christ is the sound of idol worship and the state of sleep.
It puts the believer in is rebellion.
In the case of the Israelites,
it was a collective rebellion.
Paul suggests to the Ephesians in the fifth chapter of the book of Ephesians that the pursuit of an ungodly lifestyle puts the believer into a state of spiritual coma.

(09:14):
The brain hears and responds to the white noise of idle worship.
But the frequency of the noise blocks out the sound of God's voice.
Ephesians 5 14 says where he sayeth awake thou that sleeps and arise from the dead and Christ shall give the light.
The Israelites were worshiping an idol and the sound of praise from the Israelites to the golden calf reached levels of frequencies with intensities that Moses and Aaron heard the noise from the mountain of Sinai.

(09:49):
Nearly 7500 ft from the ground.
Idolatry is a form of worship that mimics the relationship between God and his Children and Christ led worship.
The believer offers his body or his life as a living sacrifice to God,
as stated in Romans 12 1 and two.

(10:11):
This offering includes communication with God through prayer,
expending time in the study of God's promises through his word and communing with other believers in a corporate setting that includes teaching and praise.
The outcome of this type of offering to God results in Him performing supernatural acts in the believer's life.

(10:34):
The psalmist David gives an example of God's supernatural behavior towards man in Psalm 23.
It says the Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want He makes me to lie down in green pastures.
He leaded me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul.

(10:55):
He leaded me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yay.
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
I will fear no evil for thou art with me,
thy rod and thy staff.
They comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
Thou anointest my head with oil my cup runneth over.

(11:21):
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Jesus reiterates God's supernatural nurturing of man and Matthew 6 29 through 33.
He tells the disciples that the fouls in the air and the grass do nothing but honor the creator and God takes care of them.

(11:46):
If believers would do likewise,
God will supply their needs as well.
Jesus said,
seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
White noise or idol worship promises the same result.
However,
the idol who is the God of false worship doesn't have the authority or power to bring the same promises to pass.

(12:14):
We see this in Exodus 32 19 through 20.
When Moses returns to the camp and sees the complete debauchery,
a mockery of God by the Children of Israel.
He takes the calf,
burns it into the fire,
grinds it into powder and then scatters it upon the water.
White noise or idol worship creates a false equilibrium which is a false balance in the walk of the believer.

(12:41):
Unfortunately,
when the lies from the white noise begin to seduce a large number of believers away from God.
A split in the body of Christ happens,
which is what we are witnessing today.
Mature believers in the body of Christ who see the deceptions of the enemy in this hour are warning the brethren.

(13:01):
However,
a large number of brethren in the body of Christ have fallen asleep to the white noise or the out of worship.
When the word of God,
which is the light of God comes to wake them up or deliver them,
they become offended,
they join the world by accusing the church of being judgmental.

(13:21):
I often hear people say I love God and I live a balanced life.
So I'm not worried about judgmental people.
Your life is not balanced because you believe you can participate in things that don't bring glory to God without feeling convicted about it.
Lack of conviction is a sign of the absence of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life.

(13:43):
Paul further warns in Romans 12 verse two to be not conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Another modern translation says it like this don't become so well adjusted to the culture that you fit into it without even thinking instead,
fix your attention on God and you'll be changed from the inside out,

(14:06):
readily recognize what he wants from you and quickly respond to it.
Unlike the culture around you,
always dragging you down to its level of immaturity.
God brings the best out of you and develops well informed maturity in you.
Wake up in my earlier story,

(14:28):
I told you how my sons were ready to defend me at all costs.
They were ready to defend me for two reasons.
The first reason is because we are family and family is innately obligated to take care of one another.
The second reason is because I was right.

(14:48):
As believers in the family of God,
we have a spiritual obligation to look out for one another.
When we are wrong,
we check one another.
And when we move righteously,
let me say that again.
As believers in the family of God,
we have a spiritual obligation to look out for one another.
When we're wrong,

(15:09):
we check each other and when we move righteously,
the Bible explains how the love amongst the brethren not only covers it confronts and we have to be ready to continue loving each other.
In either situation.
We don't join the world in tearing down the church.
When our idol worship is admonished,

(15:30):
the church carries the light of the Gospel.
If we put the light out the darkness,
winds and our work for the Kingdom of God here on earth is all in vain.
It's time to turn off the white noise.
Wake up and be about our father's business.
Daddy doesn't like it when there's war in the room.

(15:53):
Thank you for listening.
