Greetings, Fellow Chroniclers, it's time for another episode of The Chronicle film Podcast. In episode 49, Paul and co-host Aaron Gillingham look back and review FrightFest 2025.
Every August bank holiday, the dark heart of horror FrightFest take over central London. The 26th edition promises a weird, the wild and wonderful year. The burning question is did this year deliver?
One of the reviews in this episode is The Toxic Avenger Uncut. The long-awaited Macon Blair directed remake of the Troma Films cult classic, which is in UK cinemas from 29th August. Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon, Jacob Tremblay and Elijah Wood all star in this one. Winston Gooze (Dinklage) is an ordinary worker, who after a shocking accident, transforms a downtrodden janitor into a mutant vigilante. Armed with his signature mop, the unlikely hero battles freaks, gangsters and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son.
