Welcome to Bravery Behind the Brand—the podcast where we’re going to dive into the real, raw stories behind building a business and explore the courage it takes to show up authentically. What started as Communicate With Confidence has evolved into something deeper—a space where vulnerability and bravery meet to inspire us with incredible stories of courage and resilience.

But let’s be honest—the pressure to maintain a perfect social media image is real, and it can cloud the genuine challenges we all face while building a brand. That’s exactly why we’re here: to strip away the filters and get to the heart of what it takes to thrive and survive in business.

This is the side of my clients I get to see before they’re ready to face the world in all their unpolished glory and it takes some guts to show up as your unapologetic self.

Hi, I’m Amanda Jane, a Personal Branding & Communication Coach with over 20 years experience. I help business owners with their personal branding by building their confidence, helping them craft a compelling personal brand story, working with them to be comfortable in the spotlight and , helping them to create engaging content. Whether it’s for a podcast, a presentation, or in front of a camera, my coaching is all about helping you show up authentically to connect with your audience.

Progress, Not Perfection

Forget the cookie-cutter scripts or pressure to fit someone else’s mold. This is about finding the version of your brand that works for YOU—and bringing it to life, one small step at a time.

You don’t need to be perfect to be heard—just ready to take the next step.

Welcome to the Bravery BehindThe Brand podcast, the podcast
that dives deep into the heartof the stories behind the
brands we encounter on socialmedia every day. On the
surface they make it look soeasy but I guarantee there is
blood, sweat and tears behindall the reels, posts and
beautifully presentedproducts. I'm your host Amanda
Jayne, a personal branding andcommunication coach Originally

(00:24):
from the North of Ireland andnow calling beautiful
Cheshire, England my home. Iwork with business owners
building their confidence andcrafting compelling brand
stories so they feelcomfortable stepping into the
spotlight, speaking withauthority and selling with
authenticity. I experiencefirst-hand the courage that's
required to move beyond ourcomfort zone and these are the
inspirational stories that Iwant to share. I'll also be

(00:45):
doing some solo episodes andsharing useful tips that will
hopefully help you to getmotivated with your own
personal branding andcommunication. So let's get
started. Helloeveryone and welcome to the
first episode of the BraveryBehind The Brand podcast, a

(01:06):
rebrand of the CommunicateWith Confidence podcast. And
I'm going to use the wordevolve rather than rebrand
because I started this podcastin January of this year And
when I first started it Ireally didn't know what I was
doing with the tech, with thepodcast, what direction it was

(01:27):
going to take. So I just wentwith the flow and I just did
the next step and the nextstep. And over the past few
months I've noticed thatThere's been some incredible
stories and people have beenwilling to share their stories
and while that may not havebeen the primary intention of
the podcast the stories stillcame out and I realized that

(01:49):
there were so many incrediblestories behind the brands that
I was talking about and a lotof vulnerability, a lot of
authenticity and also a lot ofbravery. So my mind was
ticking over and I wasthinking I've got to represent
these stories in a better way,in a more authentic way So
hence the evolution of thispodcast so that that's what I

(02:12):
want to say rather thanrebrand so it has evolved and
I'm quite pleased that it'scome to this because I just it
would not be me just to staythe same and do the same thing
over and over again so I thinkit's a bit more of a A
different slant, a better takeon the things that I want to
look into and I love chattingwith people and people also

(02:34):
want to share their stories, they want to share their
humble beginnings, how theirbrand has grown and how their
brand has evolved. So theformat will stay the same.
I'll begin with the threequestions because I quite like
those and I love the playlistthat has sort of grown out of
that but I'll dig a little bitdeeper into the brand. We'll
look at the fears that thesebusiness owners had when they

(02:58):
started and what they had toovercome and you'll probably
be really fascinated to hearthe stories and I know we will
be because of the stories thatwe've been listening to up
until this point but thedirection that it'll take us
then I think we'll find itfascinating and inspirational
as well and even for listenersthat are thinking about

(03:18):
setting up their own businessor who are looking at
developing their own personalbrand or focusing on their own
confidence or their owncommunication Everyone that we
meet always has something toteach us so part of my own
brand I just want to listen tothese stories and I'm always
endlessly fascinated with thetales that people have to tell

(03:41):
and it's rare that we ever getto hear these stories so I am
honored to be able to sharethese with you and thank you
for listening up until thispoint. So we're in the
thousands of listeners now andI'm truly grateful And just so
humbled that people havelistened and joined in and
embraced the theme of thepodcast and it's just been an

(04:03):
honor to speak to people andwho have been so trusting to
share their story with me andI've kept it authentic and
it's important to share thosestories because my part of my
brand is progress overperfection and I spent a long
time being very hard on myselfand Thinking that I had to be

(04:23):
perfect all the time and it'ssomething I wish I'd noticed
when I was younger so a partof this brand of this podcast
is to emphasize that you don'thave to be perfect you just
have to make progress youdon't have to make progress
the same as everybody elseeven if you're going at a
slower pace it's stillprogress but it's your
progress and you don't have tocompare yourself to other

(04:46):
people you don't have to doall the glossy stuff that you
see on social media And that'swhat I want to reflect in this
podcast. So if you look at thecover of the podcast, the
artwork, you'll see where itsays Listen Now, I've put a
little graphic of somewildflowers and that is just a

(05:07):
little nod to the people thathave managed to build a
business The theme there isbloom where you are planted.
Wildflowers signifyresilience, individuality and
thriving in unexpected places. We will do a little wildflower
moment in the podcast as well.Wildflowers bloom in tough

(05:30):
environments. We see themeverywhere and when you plant
them yourself you just scatterthem. To me it symbolises the
bravery to grow and flourishon your own terms. Even when
the odds are against you. Andthat kind of summarises the
entrepreneurial spirit that wesee on social media as well,
which isn't always portrayedbecause the business owners

(05:50):
want to show you the polishedversion of themselves and you
don't get to see behind thescenes. But hopefully with
this podcast, that's preciselywhat we will see. So if you
haven't spotted it, take alook at the graphic. But
that's just my little nod toall those business owners
who've worked so incrediblyhard. And they have gone

(06:10):
through blood, sweat and tearsliterally and they're not the
resilience, individuality andthriving in unexpected places.
So bloom where you're plantedand we'll do a little
wildflower segment on thepodcast. So that's just it for
me, I just wanted to give alittle explanation to regular
listeners as to why thepodcast was evolving and what

(06:32):
it would look like and I'mreally looking forward to the
next stage of the podcast andthe next stage of my business
as well because it's soexciting that Change keeps
happening and it's just movingat such a pace but I love it
because that means it'sexciting and new things are
happening and we're alllearning every day. So if

(06:53):
you've got any comments or youwant to see anything happening
on the podcast or you want tocome on the podcast, just drop
me a message and I would loveto hear from you and I look
forward to bringing you loadsof fantastic episodes in the
future.
