The Georgetown neighborhood is experiencing a resurgence in popularity, attracting both visitors and locals with trendy new attractions and revitalized areas. The waterfront is seeing significant upgrades, including a new public boathouse near Key Bridge and a taco-themed party boat operating from Washington Harbour. Dining options are expanding, especially with a surge of Japanese restaurants and the addition of Yala Greek Ice Cream. The retail scene is also growing, with new shops like Staud from LA, and lodging has been boosted by the opening of Marriott's boutique Canal House.
Looking ahead, more attractions are set to debut in 2025, such as the U.S. launch of Argentina's acclaimed Florería Atlántico and Brasero Atlántico, uniquely accessible through a flower shop. The retail landscape will welcome Milo and Mav, a dog-friendly café and shop, D.C.'s first Google Store, Monos Luggage, Amanda Hagerman Jewelry, and Hastens beds. The area also embraces sustainable fashion with pre-loved options from Current Boutique. With nearly 7 million visitors in the first half of the year, Georgetown combines charm, history, and modern allure to remain a top D.C. destination.
