Luke 4:21-30
Last week’s text ended with Luke 4:21, “Then he began to say to them, ‘Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.’” This week’s reading begins with it. The world of God is the beginning and the end of our readings, and the beginning and the professed beginning and end of a Christian’s life. The thing is, there are competing starting points, and biblical points of reference from which to start, and live. When it comes to the words of Jesus, what do you hear? What do you want to hear?
