Yo yo.
What's up rock stars.
Welcome to another episode of The Hood Wun Rock.
(01:01):
As with.
Me your host, London Bambi, and today we're stepping into a question that sounds so simple, but it almost feels like a trap.
Who am I now? Say it loud.
Seriously this time.
Say it with me.
Who? Am I Now, you'll be surprised how many of us go our entire lives without answering this question.
(01:27):
Not because we're lazy, not because we're shallow, but it's because the world has trained us to answer it with noise labels, status, trauma, followers, hustles, aesthetic, and rarely, rarely do we get to answer these questions with the truth.
But I recently listened to a lecture by Bro C Free L, it was titled The Science of Self.
(01:48):
Now, I've known about.
This teacher for a while now, I've seen some of his clippets of his lectures on TikTok, on Instagram and various places on the internet, but I've never seen the series of his body of work.
But today I was going to the gym and I came across this series on YouTube, titled The Science of Self, which was a collections of his teaching.
(02:12):
And I decided to listen to one of his classes while I was working out because it was his, this episode or this, Yeah, this video was about, I wanna say about like an hour and 13 minutes, and I'm like, you know what? This, I can listen to this while I'm working out in the morning.
And let me tell you, it hit, it was no fluff, no ego, but it was really deep ancestral clarity.
(02:34):
And I realized this when I, when he also said that the science of self is also known as Moore Science.
Now.
In this lecture, bro Freeman, ill says that everything, your spiritual walk, your emotional clarity and your divine mission begins with self knowledge.
And that's why we're here today because I felt like that was the clear sign that I needed to go ahead with this podcast episode because.
(03:03):
Before I even came across tho those videos, I was gonna call this episode the Cathedral of Self.
So it was already surrounded by self knowledge, identity, because that's what I do on my podcast.
I try to talk about things that make you reflect on yourself, how you think, words, ideas.
But as you notice, I don't really talk about other people.
(03:25):
I'm not into gossip, but we'll get into more.
Of that later in this podcast as to why I don't really have guests here, or as to why I don't talk about other people unless I am talking about some of their work.
And that would be more so artists.
So, today we're going to talk about your, the science of self.
We're pointing it right back to you.
(03:45):
And, we're gonna break down the keys he offered in that lecture.
Like, we're gonna unpack what it truly means to know yourself because Babe hey.
Once you do the world shifts, I promise you.
So let's start at the beginning.
Teacher, I'm, I wanna call him professor.
Professor Bro Freeman l says, identity begins with your name.
(04:07):
Your name is the first sound you answer to.
It's the vibration that you follow.
It follows you into every room before your presence even catches up.
Now, ask yourself.
Who named you and importantly, do you claim that name or were you just given it? See, in many cultures, especially ancient African, indigenous and Eastern traditions, names weren't just random.
(04:30):
They were assignments.
They carry meaning and prophecies purpose.
My name, London Bat.
It isn't just a stylistic choice because that is a choice.
I chose myself.
To me, it's an invocation.
It's.
A marriage of contradiction, urban grit, and they're like delicate rebellion.
It is my paradox and it reminds me to show up fully, not just fashionably.
(04:53):
So that's what my name kind of represents in a nutshell.
I could go deeper, but I'm not because I have the tendency to digress.
So again, I'm going to ask you, who are you? Are you living in alignment with? The name that you were given or are you hiding behind it? Because also you can hide behind your name as well.
And that pretty much pertains to people who was born through, lineage of power through name.
(05:18):
And I don't want to get into that in this episode, but yeah, I want you to think about that.
Who are you now, once you have the name, you need the knowing self-knowledge.
Let me tell you what always hunted me in the best way.
It's a quote that I come back to often, and this is when he came to the self-knowing part.
I thought about this quote and it goes like this.
(05:40):
Above all, don't lie to yourself.
The man who lies to himself and listen to his own lies comes to such a past that he cannot distinguish the truth within him or around him.
And so loses all respect for himself and for those or for others, and having no respect.
He ceases to love and in order to occupy, distract himself without love, he gives away to passions and course pleasures and sinks to bestiality in his vices, all from continuing lying to other men and to himself.
(06:10):
This quote is by, doki.
Doka.
I think that's how you pronounce his name.
Doki.
And listen, it changed.
It changed how I spoke to myself because we all, I think we all lied to have lied to ourselves a little.
We say we're okay when we're not.
We say we're unbothered when we're really breaking, we pr.
We pretend our dreams are too much when we don't want to take the risk, like so.
(06:34):
That's the version of lying to yourself.
But here's the thing, the man who lies to himself will always be offended by the truth and not just by others, but by himself.
You'll catch yourself inventing drama, rewriting insults that never happened, turning small comments into full on wards.
It's okay to be a little delusional for fun.
Now believe me, I know, um, I don't want to kill anybody fantasy, but when it comes to your truth, take yourself seriously.
(07:00):
Respect yourself enough to tell yourself the truth, even when it's ugly, even when it's hard, even when it means burning a mask you've worn for years.
Next he said, comes self revelation.
Let's define that word.
A revelation isn't just insight, it's a spiritual unveiling.
To reveal something is to pull back the curtain, to take a look what's been hiding.
(07:22):
Sometimes it's even from you.
You've ever waking up one day and realize you've been playing a role for so long, you forgot, you head on a costume.
That's a revelation.
That's an example of a revelation.
It's the moment you stop being afraid of your own reflection, the moment your spirit taps you and says, enough pretending it is time to come home to yourself.
(07:43):
And once you know who you are, and once you start respecting your own thoughts, you realize something sacred.
Spiritual hygiene becomes non-negotiable because when you become your own best friend, you start practicing your piece like it's an altar.
Now let me tell you what happened.
I was scrolling the other day as well, like today was the video day with, the professor.
(08:06):
But I was scrolling the other day like we all do, and I came across a series of quote that felt divinely timed.
So of course, you know.
I want to share them with you because every single one of them screamed.
It needed to be in this episode.
And I felt like it is a part of the science of self.
Spiritual hygiene is definitely important.
Let's walk through these quotes together.
Alright.
(08:27):
Stay in your lane.
Looking too much at other paths creates soul confusion.
Let me tell you something.
Comparison is spiritual pollution.
The moment you take your eyes off your own road, your spirit start glitching.
You hear me, and suddenly you don't know if your goals are yours or someone else's.
That is why I don't play the algorithm game.
(08:49):
I play the alignment game.
I don't care about who likes how many, who likes what I put up or how many likes I get.
If I did, I would.
Totally be catering and talking about a lot of more popular things.
But I want to play, I want to put out content that is in alignment with where I am today.
All right.
Another one, stay out of drama that isn't yours.
(09:13):
Every battle isn't your fight.
Protect your energy by not getting emotionally invested in things,, that spirit didn't assign to you.
Let me be real.
This is why the hood debutante.
Remember I said I was going to come back and talk about why I don't talk about, other people living their lives? Because to me, that's a reflection of gossip.
I.
(09:34):
I don't speak on other people's lives, not because I don't have opinions, but because my life, my thoughts, my healing is already a full production.
And babe, it is interesting enough just as your life is interesting, I'm pretty sure I try to, I.
Share things with my listeners, the people who are listening you right now, that will not pollute your mind anymore with someone else's life because we all are busy.
(09:59):
We grown.
We need to be focusing on our own life.
You know, why throw stones when you live in a glass house? So that's why I try to stay away from gossip and all of that stuff right next.
This is the one I love because i've been in this space for a while now, and that is, I've been having a lot of spiritual, quiet time, right? And the quote goes like this, you don't always need to be visible.
(10:21):
Silence is sacred.
Rest is protection.
Now, sometimes your spirit needs a closed door.
No posts, no updates, just your presence with yourself.
Meditation.
Your silence is a sanctuary.
Don't let the world rush you out of it all right? And I've been taking a as much time as I needed to be alone.
My friends are like, you wanna come out, have a drink? No, I'm in hermit mode because I'm a huge believer that spiritual quiet time is a huge part of spiritual hygiene and sometimes you just gotta go in and reflect and sort your thoughts.
(10:54):
Out of everyone else's.
Alright.
And again, you guys know, I always tell you guys about meditating, and meditating is a part of this.
Alright, next, not oversharing.
Protect your vision, healing, and sacred moves.
Keep some things between you and your spirit Woo, baby.
(11:16):
This one.
I'm working on it, y'all.
I get excited and I love oversharing my projects, and that is one of my issues.
I've been trying to be good about that.
Now, as, as you notice, I haven't really been talking about this place.
I've been spinning.
I might tell you guys, I'm not doing a podcast a certain week because I'm trying to work on projects, but I've been working on not oversharing.
All right? My spirit has been telling me to hold it close.
(11:39):
Not everyone can hold your light.
And even fewer can handle your process.
So let's stop oversharing because it's important to protect good things, especially things we're trying to birth into life.
And I'm learning that I haven't been always the best with it, but I'm learning that next another.
This is another huge one.
Setting boundaries.
(11:59):
Saying no is a is huge in keeping up your spiritual hygiene Saying no to everything that drains you is saying yes to your soul and your destiny.
And if someone's offended by your boundaries, they were never in alignment with your evolution.
Keep that in mind, period.
Now, forgiveness.
This is another one for, for the work of forgiveness, that I used to struggle with, but I've gotten better.
(12:26):
You don't forgive for them, but you have to forgive for you.
And I do have a podcast on archetypes of forgiveness.
I, I think you can forgive on different levels, but the goal is to forgive.
Alright? And if you want to know, what are those archetypes are, just go a few podcasts, episodes back.
If you are having trouble with this.
Part of spiritual hygiene, forgiving, I know I used to, but I built some archetypes and you could try to figure out where you land when it comes to forgiveness.
(12:52):
But remember, forgiveness is like weight loss for the soul.
If you let, it's, you let it go.
Not for their sake, but so you can stop dragging their energy around you.
Now I do have a story about forgiveness, but I feel like this podcast wa is already gonna be a little long.
So I'm just gonna, continue.
All right.
Now the next one is be intentional with who you allow in your life.
(13:16):
This is another one I gotta be better with because I used to be one to be everybody friend.
I believe everybody deserve a chance to prove that they could be a good person.
I also believe new friends can open new doors, but.
I need to pull back.
Sometimes you don't really have to be all up in a mix mix on getting to know everyone because everyone carries energy, but not everyone carries good energy, and you have to use your discernment for this now.
(13:44):
I think we really have to be picky with who we let in our home.
We've gotta be picky who we let in our bed, our plans, because our space is sacred your vibes is sacred.
Real estate, not everyone can get a lease that's going to leave it at that.
This next quote is huge.
Checking your own thoughts.
(14:05):
Negative self thought is spiritual clutter.
Speak loving to yourself.
Now we come to one of the most important pieces, the voice in your head, that inner narrator is shaping your whole reality.
So ask yourself, would you talk to your best friend the way you talk to yourself? It's time to reprogram the way we speak to ourselves, speak.
(14:27):
We have to start speaking life, speaking, clarity, speaking, protection, speaking power, speaking peace into our own name.
It's this song called Abundance Fall.
Type it in on, I'm, I'm not sure if it's on Spotify, but I know it's on Apple Music.
I listen to abundance fall every morning because it's like my, what do you call it? Ah, it's at the tip of my head.
(14:48):
It's at the tip of my mantra.
It's my, it's my mantra.
And the song goes something like this.
Let that up on its fall.
Let that abundance fall and it samples the Yining twin.
It's pretty dope type, abundant fall on Apple Music or Spotify.
I think you'll like it.
That's a beautiful way to start.
Implementing self-talk into your life.
(15:09):
I also believe, you know, talking to yourself in the mirror, I try to say, and I believe I discussed this on one of my other episodes, when I look in the mirror, I say, I am kind.
I am love.
I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am worthy.
I am light.
Okay.
You know, so keep on saying these things and trust me, this is who you become.
(15:34):
So who are you? I'm asking you this again.
Who are you? And I hope you know you are not just your job, you are not your trauma.
You are not your style.
You are not your mistakes.
I.
You are the divine unfolding.
You are a living answer to an ancient question, and the more you return yourself, the more everything else begins to fall into place effortlessly.
(16:01):
You don't have to have all the answers right now, trust me, but I'm gonna leave you with this.
Be honest with yourself, be kind to yourself.
Be quiet enough to hear.
Who you really are underneath all the noise because when you know yourself, you stop needing a world to define you.
Alright guys, if this episode spoke to you as always, share it with someone whom is on the same path as we are.
(16:27):
And if no one has told you today, you are worthy.
You are your own love, you are your own clarity, and you are your own voice.
So until next time, stay real.
Stay rare and stay radically loving yourself.
I am London Bambi, and this is The Hood Debutante signing off Until next week.
(16:48):
Peace.
