(00:00):
Fam, welcome to the JESUS Loves U podcast.
(00:03):
Today’s episode is not light.
It’s not celebratory.
It’s reflective… and heavy.
While many of us were watching fireworks on July 4th,
families in Texas were facing a different kind of explosion—the sky opened,
and the waters came fast.
A flash flood swept through parts of the state.
(00:23):
Homes were destroyed.
Roads were swallowed.
And heartbreakingly—lives were lost.
To those grieving (00:30):
we see you.
To those recovering (00:32):
we’re praying for you.
To those who feel helpless (00:35):
you’re not alone.
There’s nothing easy to say in moments like this.
But there is something eternal we can hold onto.
Psalm 34:18 says.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
” If you’re hurting… God is near.
If you’re angry… He can handle it.
(00:56):
If you’re overwhelmed… He’s not.
He’s not a distant God watching from far away—He enters the storm with us.
He weeps with those who weep.
And He offers peace this world can’t give.
Natural disasters always raise deep questions.
Why did this happen?
Why them?
Where was God?
And though we may not have every answer, we do know this.
(01:18):
God is not absent in suffering—He’s present.
Jesus Himself faced storms.
Pain.
Death.
And He conquered them—not just so we could survive tragedy—but so we could have hope beyond it.
Matthew 7 tells us.
“The rain fell, the floods came… but the house built on the Rock did not fall.
” In a world where everything can change in a moment—Jesus is unshakable.
(01:44):
So if you’re listening today with a heavy heart… if you’re grieving,
overwhelmed,or searching for answers you’ve never had to ask before—please know this.
God sees you.
He has not abandoned you.
And even in the pain, His love remains.
Jesus knows what it’s like to weep.
He knows what it’s like to suffer.
(02:04):
And He offers more than words—He offers Himself.
A steady presence.
A strong refuge.
And a promise of eternal life, even when everything around us feels lost.
Let’s pray together.
God, we lift up every person impacted by the floods in Texas.
For the families who lost loved ones—bring comfort no words can reach.
(02:27):
For those whose lives were turned upside down—bring provision, peace, and strength.
And Lord, in moments that feel senseless, draw us closer to Your heart.
Be near to the broken.
Show us how to love one another well.
And remind us that even in darkness, You are still good.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
(02:47):
Fam, life is fragile.
Every breath is a gift.
Let’s liv like it.
Love like it.
And never wait to run to Jesus.
We’re praying for Texas.
And we’re here for you.
Until next time—JESUS Loves U.
