Welcome back to the JESUS LOVES U Podcast.
(00:03):
If you’ve ever felt like God went quiet on you… or that something feels off spiritually… it may be because the Holy Spirit is being quenched.
Let’s talk about how to walk in step with Him instead.
⸻ 1.
You Can Quench the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19.
– “Do not quench the Spirit.
” To quench means to extinguish—like putting out a fire.
You quench the Spirit when you (00:25):
• Ignore conviction.
• Stay in known sin.
• Reject His voice.
• Prioritize your flesh over His will.
The Spirit wants to move, but He will not force Himself on you.
⸻ 2.
You Can Grieve the Spirit.
Ephesians 4:30.
– “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God…”.
(00:46):
Grieving the Spirit is about relational pain—He is a person,
and when we sin, ignore,or disobey,it hurts the relationship.
Gossip.
Bitterness.
Lust.
Pride.
These things don’t just damage you—they wound the Spirit of God within you.
⸻ 3.
You Can Resist the Spirit.
(01:07):
Acts 7:51.
– “You always resist the Holy Spirit…”.
Stephen said this to the religious leaders.
You can resist what the Spirit is trying to say because of pride, fear, or tradition.
But here’s the good news.
⸻ 4.
You Can Walk in Step with the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25.
(01:27):
– “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
” Staying in step with the Spirit means (01:31):
• Listening for His voice.
• Obeying quickly.
• Staying in God’s Word.
• Repenting when convicted.
• Spending time in prayer.
• Surrendering daily.
You begin to walk with God, not just for Him.
⸻ Let’s pray.
“Holy Spirit, forgive me for the times I’ve quenched, grieved, or resisted You.
(01:54):
I surrender again.
Soften my heart.
Sharpen my hearing.
Make me sensitive to Your voice and obedient to Your will.
I want to walk in step with You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
” ⸻ Don’t settle for religion without relationship.
Life in the Spirit is powerful, joyful, and personal.
